The original copies of Sun & Moon before its update, contain files that suggest that the meshing for the character models in SM was built in a game in the pk6 (gen 6) format (XY, ORAS). We never saw the meshing in any gen 6 games, meaning Pokemon Z or a 2015 game release could have had not just an addition to the story but a graphics upgrade, which makes a LOT of sense because the New 3ds models were also released in 2015 which had a performance upgrade. Another reason I believe Pokemon Z or a 2015 Pokemon game was definitely a thing is because Zygarde was barely implemented into XY, as you said, the games felt incomplete, and since the sequel was most likely Pokemon Z, Z likely referring to Zygarde, could have touched on Zygardes story completely like other 3rd games do, eg Giratina, or Rayquaza. Another important thing to note here is, gen 6 was MEANT to have 3 games. If you didn't know, Development for Pokemon XY began in Q3 2010 and had 3 themes for each game, beauty, bonds, and evolution. You can search this up, as this was the theme set when Mr. Masuda sent his research team to France to explore the area for XY, since XY is set in France of course. Knowing that Masuda made 3 themes, 1 for each game, Beauty was for X, Bonds was for Y, and Evolution is for the 3rd game that according to all this, Masuda was planning. The term "Evolution" also correlates to Zygarde's signature features, which is how it evolves forms like 10% or 50%. The cancellation of the 3rd game was a quick decision and was clearly made last minute, because both Ash-Greninja and Zygarde Cells were introduced in Sun & Moon. In short, the game was going to start production, it was decided that it was going to happen, so they left out some features from XY for Z, then they canceled it last minute.

It would be cool if they made some prequels. Maybe even something close to the Pokémon war in X & Y. It would be too dark to put the game in that exact time but maybe the time just before or a little after.

if Pokémon Z Happens, Just Wanted zygarde To Be The Center Focus Since zygarde is The Third Legendary & it’s The Order Pokémon, So zygarde Can Save The Earth From TEAM FLARE. & zygarde Have An Awesome Design, it’s 50% FORM is A Serpent Dragon With Many Heads & it Have Serpent Heads in its Back, its COMPLETE FORM is a Gigantic Humanoid Golem Like Dragon With Many Heads, 1 Humanoid Heads & 4 Serpent Heads. & zygarde Have Awesome Lore & Powers. Just Wished That zygarde Get The Love Treatment.

Sword and Shield didn’t get a third version and Scarlet and Violet probably won’t get one either. That makes 4 gens without a third version or 3 without a 3rd version or a sequel.

@@letsmakepancakes3 Yuck, DLCs are not third versions, they can't fix up the games like a 3rd version would (fixing ScarVio's slowdowns and glitches like Platinum fixed DP's, or SwSh's visuals like USUM fixed SuMo's). And it can't modify the already existing story unlike what Emerald or USUM did (maybe it's for the better when it comes to the latter).

I do wish that they released Pokémon Z, but my theory is that when it comes time for X & Y remakes they won’t be remakes at all, but in fact the long awaited Pokémon Z with a brand new story, characters, etc 🤞🏼(bring back ash Greninja!)

Z woulda been cool tbh, I really enjoyed X and Y even if it was "too easy"

X and Y feeling incomplete is why I feel they could benefit from a remake. I just don't think that remake should happen in generation 9, though.

Gf honestly didn't gaf about x and y bc the game just came out completely dogshit(I love x and y but I'm being honest) and they never made a third version. It was obviously a cash grab and a test. I don't think gf will ever come back to kalos and if they do they closet thing will probably be bs ports with no fixes to he game at all (pretty much the dogshit bdsp)

Honestly, I don't care that Kalos didn't get another game. And I don't want Kalos to return at all. After all the constant toxicity from the Kalos fans from both games and anime, from the constant "Kalos return" speculation that won't leave me alone, I just want Kalos to stay in the past. I really resent Kalos now which I didn't wanted in the first place but things happen and I don't think I ever love Kalos the same way as I did when it first came out.

Oh? Going back to the series’s roots with a sprite based game would be neat. Even if the modern pokemon weren’t designed with sprites in mind.
