Why do you American guys think that fighting in America is the be all end all. There's more money to be made elsewhere. A bang average fight in the UK can bring in 25000 fans. Boxing has gone underground in America.

Until the USA show support for the lower weight divisions and present the bigger market than Japan. Why would Inoue fight in the USA?

I'm from the U.S., and am a big Inoue fan, so I definitely want him to fight here, even if I'm unable to attend the fight in person, at least I can watch the fight on TV at a reasonable hour. There are a lot of fans who have been critical of Inoue for fighting mostly in Japan, but there are quite a few fighters who haven't ever left the U.S., including Floyd Mayweather. And, I would assume that the reason why fighting in the U.S. is significant is because of the number of high quality opponents here compared to the rest of the world. That would make sense if Inoue was only fighting domestic opponents, and avoiding the top guys in his division, which is obviously not the case, so why the double standard?

When Inoue returned to Japan and was interviewed at the airport, he was asked if he would like to have another fight in the U.S. He said he could sense that American boxing fans and Bob Arum wanted to see his matches, so he would like to fight in the U.S. again.

I'm Japanese. Inoue's fight money in Japan is about 1 billion yen. I don't think there will be a war in the United States unless you get a considerable amount of money as Inoue himself said. To be clear, for Inoue, there is no merit in fighting in the United States.

Maybe if Inoue was in his late 20's, maybe he'd be interested in a US megafight. But at this age and making as much as he does in Japan, i dont think he gives a rat's. Honestly, after selling out the Tokyo Dome, pretty much any venue in the US is gonna be a downgrade.

If I'm Top Rank, i'm a happy camper when it comes to the monster. Because Inoue is breaking revenue numbers in Japan (you sold out a 55,000 seat stadium in the Tokyo Dome), there really is no need to come to the US and fight. Like Inside Boxing mentioned, no boxer is doing that here in the US. Canelo - Charlo and Crawford-Spence fights sold out an only 20,000 seat venue at the T-Mobile Arena. Inoue is selling out more than twice the number of seats. That's NFL numbers and he's doing that without making his fight a PPV event. Imagine if he fought on a PPV card. Top Rank, Inoue and his opponent promoters would make a butt load of money. Atm, no need for Inoue to fight outside the US because he's making a butt load of money for everyone, including his opponent.

Chris Algieri is a nice guy...but he beat a face-first Ruslan Provodnikov and won a lightly regarded WBO belt. Sorry, but winning a "world title" now is not as prestigious as winning one in the 1970's, 1980's or 1990's, when you had to be elite to even challenge for a belt. Now, the sanctioning organizations have completely ruined the sport with the proliferation of meaningless belts and inferior fighters. I think my next door neighbor has a WBC belt of some sort, and my mailman is also ranked by the IBF. Get real.

@InsideBoxingLive "World champ" is a completely meaningless title nowadays, and it has been for decades. It's way too easy to acquire a belt without being elite. Too many examples of transitory fighters who won a title and then never defended it and were never heard from again. Even "undisputed" is a misleading term. Back in the day, that term was reserved for the very elite...Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Ray Leonard, Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield. Now? Josh Taylor, Teofimo Lopez, Devin Haney, Jermell Charlo, Cory Spinks. Shall I continue? Titles are only for marketing purposes in most cases and to attract the casual fan. Anyone unwilling to accept that is lying to themselves.

In order to even buy a ticket to see Inoue's fights in Japan you have to win a lottery unless he fights in Tokyo Dome again that accommodates 55K people I heard his main income source are from corporate sponsors and TV commercials that pay him about $10M/yr, and a fight money is extra. I heard this 5 yrs ago so he must be earning much more now
