Just signed up with Boomer Benefits a couple weeks ago. Chloe was terrific and very knowledgeable. Very happy to be with Boomer Benefits now and knowing there is someone to contact with any billing questions is priceless!

I've been on medicare with supplement ins for 2 years. The first year went well. This past year when I went for bloodwork I was actually charged $6 for the insertion of the needle to get my blood. Do you know why this is?

Hi Simone - It seems your provider added that additional charge. The best thing to do would be talk to your provider and see if they are willing to recode this.

Excellent video. I have found that when going for a procedure, and I ask if it will be covered with my Medicare A & B and Medigap Plan G. Their typical response is “well Medicare ‘should’ cover it, but please sign this waiver that says that if they don’t cover it, I will be expected to pay. “. At that point, usually as you have arrived at the desk to have the procedure started, they will DEMAND that you sign the waiver or refuse to perform the procedure if you do not. They never give you a form that guarantees that Medicare will cover it and absolve you if any payment if something goes wrong. Any suggestions on how to handle this situation, which is very common?

Hi there - at that point, it can be a little difficult if they are requiring the ABN (Advanced Beneficiary Notice)he doctors assumes Medicare is likely to deny the procedure. If your procedure is medically necessary, you should not run into a problem with this. Are you a Boomer Benefits client? If so, we can always assist with this!

@@BoomerBenefits Thanks for the reply. I am not a client of Boomer Benefits, but I do have an Insurance Agent that I have been using since starting on Medicare (7 years ago. I have had a few problems (not many) with billing and diagnostic codes that the doctors office had made errors on, but so far, I have been able to get the issues resolved and eventually covered by Medicare. I will continue to watch your channel and appreciate your time and efforts!
