I am confident that Josh Berry will be the driver to turn things around a little in SHR. In fact I think he will do better than all 3 of the other SHR drivers. Just a gut feeling.

In 433 starts as a crew chief, Drew Blickensderfer’s 3 of his 4 career wins have come at Daytona… including 2 Daytona 500 wins. And after his first two starts ever as a crew chief, he was 2-0. What a weird career

how poetic is it that berry is replacing the replacement for the father of his mentor that 'fathered' him, in a way this was the most predictable silly season move for a long, long time.

That will be Preace and Custer will be back in the sucking 41 car it's either the crew the car or the number but it can't be the driver cause both the two drivers can win we have seen it I just think It just needs to be the 4 10 and 14 or change the number of the 4th car or put of effort into it

I hope that Josh Berry acknowledges the crown he is putting on his head. Kevin Harvick brought the #4, a number that was on much of my young sporting life, to a Cup championship after many years buried in Morgan-McClear's garage. There is that one cup championship, so there's plenty of room to take number to many highlights. Go Josh, I've got yer number.

Sterling Marlin won back-to-back Daytona 500s in the #4. Ernie Irving did pretty well also. Harvick hasn’t exactly set the woods on fire lately.

I just hope the Richard Boswell move to Briscoe will help. Briscoe has started with sub 30th speed on way to many weekends this season. I hope Boswell can get the cars more speed and handle more to Briscoe’s liking than Jonny Klausmier could. Because it is just unacceptable to have that complete lack of speed for weeks on end when you are supposed to be in the conversation of super teams.

I don't think it makes sense for McDowell to go to the 10 when the 34 is honestly more competitive and a team on the rise rather than a team on the downfall.

there was actually a document made about Busch going to Chastain on a trustworthy news site for nascar, however this was removed due to this being right at the same time as the other controversies. so it's pretty safe to say that chastain has Busch

We are definitely going to see some wins from Stewart Haas with Josh Berry behind the wheel. That is a great combo. Can’t wait to see the fruits of their labor. Love it.

I'm glad you're talking about crew chiefs. Team 54's crew chief has participated in losing Ty at least 100 points this year. What I've come to understand this season. Crew Chief strategy has to include if something happens to lose multiple spots on the racetrack then some risk has to be taken to regain position. Most likely include staying on the track, gas only stop, or two tire stops. Chris Gayle has been horrible in this way.

Yes, but he has had good cars on the track it seems, so some of that is good adjustments from the crew chief. However, his crew chief could use strategy to get him more spots too.

You just did a great job and I think your right on the numbers have a great rest of your day stay safe and healthy

I’m gonna give Berry a chance in the 4 car, as I do think that he has the potential. However, I really hope that someone like Michael McDowell or Ryan Newman gets picked to replace Aric Almirola. I’ve said this countless times, but a seasoned veteran presence behind at least one of their cars is what any organization, especially one like a struggling SHR, needs right now more than ever. Berry’s got the best team in that shop right now, so he won’t have any excuses if he struggles for two or more years. I REALLY hope that he will do well with the team, especially if Tony the Tiger is around to help out the new kid as he grows into his new role.

Yeah Newman's 2020 500 wreck basically set the end of his career similar to Sterling Marlins 2002 Kansas wreck so he probably wouldn't be competitive

Hopefully SHR can fully pursuit young talented prospects from the Ford Driver Development Program as well as the leaders being more committed to the team instead of putting their main focus on other affairs. Lastly, they shouldn't never put their focus on one car only but all 4 cars moving forward.

Josh may be able to keep them where they are now but if the whole 4 teams get better in two years he can be one of the best on track but they have to get their cars better first.

Video concept: Do a draft video (not like what you’ve done before) set it up where the last team in the standings has pick 1 and they can “draft” any non cup driver to replace there current driver. 35th can no draft 36th place driver or any non cup driver, etc until a team wouldn’t replace their driver. For example: Rick Ware Racing in 36th can draft Zane Smith to drive the 15 car, now Spire at pick 2 can draft Ryan Newman, or any non cup driver like Carson Hocevar, then pick 3 can draft Dillon or Newman or any non cup driver and so on

Jr. said on DJD he served as the mentor for a lot of the Late Model guys when they ran a second team. He’s going to be that mentor for guys like Herbst, Custer, and Briscoe going forward. He’s shown that he can be successful in unfamiliar equipment as long as it’s up to par as well. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he can sneak a win in the next 1-2 seasons.

Hey Timothy I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful but it's Tony Stewart not Toni Stewart and I can remember him spelling his name as Tony Stewart once quite a few years ago to a reporter he was having an ongoing problem with and seemingly to make sure the reporter remembered how to spell his name Tony gave him a fairly hard knuckle thump to the chest on each letter as he spelled his name out to the reporter and I guess I can relate to Tony's thinking Cause in my lifetime of almost 73years I can't begin to remember how many times I had to spell out the proper spelling of my full first name is Jeffrey , not Jeffery which I know shouldn't matter much but it sure as hell does on anything resembling legal paperwork which I was more than just gently reminded of very often over the years so yeah Timothy like I said I wasn't trying to be rude or disrespectful it's just a quirk in me that I'm not really overly proud of , and with that said I'm going to back out of here and leave you Timothy and ththe rest of y'all to debate and discuss what Josh Barry's being signed by SHR might or might not mean for Nascar and maybe I'll check back in on y'all in a bit or maybe I'll wait to see if I get any message or response notifications from someone who wants to talk Nascar and not some do nothing Millenial or younger techy wannabe who thinks game playing for their own purposes includes hijacking conversations or people's names and Fing with them is an okay way to spend their do nothing days at their parents house where they're planning on staying for as long as they can show they don't have any responsibilities 😊😅😮😢😂❤😂❤😊❤😊

Dale Jr will get another Driver from his Late Model Stable. I would not be surprised to see Carson Kvapil move to Xfinity in 2024 for JRM. He is a proven winner in the Car Tours Late Model Series. Josh should do fine and will take care of his equipment at SHR.

I think josh berry will do better than his teammates and i do think they are heading towards how roush rebuilt but almirola is leaving soon so I think it will ultimately depend on who they bring in for almirola to see how long the rebuild will take

Tony is technically right but I don’t blame JGR...Ty brought cheaper labor and a sponsor.

If I was SHR I would have done a staff swap of the #4 and the #14. Briscoe is clearly the best shot you have at a rebound to old form and SHR has never been afraid to be top heavy, so I dont get why you wouldn't put your best people around your best and youngest driver.

Rodney wanted Josh Berry plain and simple. Josh Berry has ran the Late Model program at JRM for over 10 years. Josh built the cars set up the cars and drove the cars,winning a lot of races all over the south. Josh won a lot at Hickory and Tri-county! Twenty years ago before he became a HOF crew chief. Rodney Childers built and drove Late model cars winning races at Hickory and Tri-county. You have two old school short track racers who does the same language! I may be wrong but I see big things happening with Josh&Rodney!

@@ethanweeter2732 Car was statistically at a disadvantage last year and this year. Wind tunnel testing has proven that the rear is the issue. Much more surface area and downforce on the camaro body. Nascar would not allow them to change shape of rear of car. Nose was a bandaid and actually hurt overall balance. Car was good on short tracks last year. Now it is at a decrement at most all tracks. You can see it in the midcorner speeds, overall results, and how the fords filter down the running order through a run. Camaro has much better overall balance. Ford has to be perfect to even compete. No wiggle room.

Hope the best for Josh berry. Happy for him I only hope that it doesn't lead us to disapointment. I mean thought Preece could help turn the team around but so far he has been disapointment. Hope that doesn't happen with Berry

The problem is Ford. Ford as whole is struggling. And the relationship between Stewart and Ford has been well documented the last couple years. Just sayin...

Two years ago JB was trying to land an Xfinity ride. Can he fix SHR? That should be up to Tony and the team. Let’s hope they can put a competitive ride under him.

My money is on Hocevar filling the 8 ride at JRM.

i think the problem with stewart-haas racing isn't the drivers it's the company as a whole there's something missing that's hindering they're performance so if josh doesn't perform well it's the company, they aren't consistent and kevin is the only one currently leading the company's results

The sponsor gonna be interesting with Truex Jr likely to return in 2024 keeping the Johnny Morris $, & BUSCH not part of announcement rumored to be going to TRACKHOUSE...

I think if he performs, he has a 10-12 year career in the cup series. That’s not had if he’s a front runner right out of the gate.

Something everyone always fails to mention when Hendrick went through their " rebuild ", is that Chevy also went through a rebuild too with the Camaro. If they don't switch to the Camaro Hendrick stays dominant that's just facts

I hope for big things but I expect more of the usual SHR over hype a driver to watch them under perform type thing.

Yes, and HMS hired all young talented and up and coming drivers, including Larson.

Personally think it is a Ford prob;em, that coming from a Ford guy. Think that Nascar took something from them with changing the frontends. We will see if the "Dark Horse" frontend helps in 2024 with the new Mustang release.

Maybe Tony is done with NASCAR and we see an Earnhardt-Haas Chevy team next year.

Well I'm not sure I get the connection between saying something in a video but at almost 73years old (on July 15th of this year ,2023) and a big time Nascar fan since before the 3rd turn fight between Cale Yarborough and the Allison Brothers as the"King" Richard Petty drove by to win another Daytona 500 and pretty much lock up another championship I'm thinking I've seen and heard enough to not have to read between the lines very often and I'm thinking that with a driver with Josh Barry's potential shou make the Toyota and Chevy teams take notice cause SHR could be a good second team for Ford to get behind and with the talents it looks like SHR may have lined up between Harvick, as a team tutor or some other management position responsible for helping out Barry and possibly another yet sort of secret prospect and some help from Ford I'm thinking that SHR could possibly become the "Trackhouse" of Ford Teams especially if there was some kind connection between SHR and RFK cause with the experience of both Harvick said Keslowskie and the management experience behind both teams and corporate backing from Ford (Harvick's and Keslowskie's driving records with Ford could very well be the clinching part of getting Ford to back both teams and that backing could include Ford's pretty good driver development programs some sort of of combination SHR, RFK and, Ford could benefit all 3 to my way of thinking and possibly scare the hell out of Toyota and Chevy, and I'm thinking that if Nascar Management would pull their heads out and help make things inviting to Ford greed for money could start being fed because Nascar would be back to 3 manufacturers racing again with Ford , Chevy , and Toyota all having fairly strong and successful driver development programs in the past I would think that the Nascar Management brain trust who successfully sold everyone on the "Clash at the Colleseum, and the dirt track at Bristol, and the Return to North Wilkesboro over the last few years ought to be able to sell the Return to 3 manufacturer backed Nascar racing to the networks , the fans, and especially the drivers who I'm thinking would like the possible competition upticks 😊😅😮😂❤😂😊❤😊

Aric Almirola winning at Sonoma in Xfinity kinda proves that it’s not the driver (at least for Almirola). He proved he can be fast and win races. And you can’t really say it’s the car because he won in a Sieg car. That team had never won a race before that point. To me it sounds like a big personnel issue. Not just the crew chiefs but down into engineers and such.
