Reading these comments really shows the power of music, everyone can have their own interpretation of songs, it's awesome. Aro and aces can relate and younger people can probably too. Even though I'm straight and in a relationship (with an ace), this really makes me reflect on the concept of love and when it became such a important and necessary part of my life because there was a time where it was the last thing on my mind and finding it felt so far away...

Like the song isn't about the guy that don't want sex it's about a guy that don't want relationship or just don't want to be in relationship with someone they never met so saying that you can relate as asexual is misunderstanding the song.

I'm aromantic, I've never felt feelings of love for someone else, even with past boyfriends or "crushes". I was always trying to trick myself so maybe I could be normal and maybe even eventually feel these things. Well I've finally come to terms with my sexuality and I'm happy with it! I really relate to this. I always found myself having "curshes" on people that i thought were really cool, that's always how I thought it was supposed to be. And I've been in a couple relationships now, and each time, I have found that I like the person way more as friends, and that bringing romance into things was a chore, and that honestly, it made me more uncomfortable that anything. I really get what you mean about being scared for the future. I more not be attracted to people romantically, but I still enjoy affection, and the idea of being close with someone. I don't know if I'll ever find someone who want to stick around with me. Cause while I don't want to get married, nor have a romantic partner, I still want someone that I can share my life with, maybe move in together, but still go to our separate rooms at night, and have no expectation of romance. I'm scared that if I find someone that I want to share my life with, they will see it as a temporary thing, or expect romance, or find a partner and leave. It's scary, but like you said, I'm just going to vibe for now and see where life decides to take me. But I want to have all the same things marriage has like the cuddling and loving each other unconditionally and sharing a house , (No s£x though). Basiclly living my life with, of that but just as friends. Which is what I think is called a Queer Platonic Relationship. I’m also afraid that if I don’t offer romance on the table they will see it as an opportunity to leave. Or that just because we don’t “move up to romance” that our friendship is seen as less than a romantic relationship. It's perfectly okay to change a bit and there's no great way to know what labels are actually you right off the bat, so just see if it fits you and decide when you're ready! Okay serious here for a moment: I have SERIOUS appreciation for Will because he looks at topics that you never hear about in mainstream music. Also i consider being in love only, once you’ve got to know the other person for real, not just some crush. Whoo hoo, a lovely song for Aroaces. I henceforth declare this the Anthem of the Aroaces!

In media , there is an overwhelming amount of romance and love related stuff , and it's very rare to find gems like this . Eventhough I am straight and feel attraction and stuff , I dont feel the " need " to be with someone rn , maybe in the future ,but not now . I have to work on myself and my issues and be able to love my self before I go try to love someone , so this song just home . Lots of appreciation 💕

You know what I absolutely love about this? Red is the color of romance, which is the background as it would presumably be, but Will is wearing green. Green is opposite to red on the color wheel, hence the color opposite to romantic love. AND in the aromantic flag (all three versions), green is included for that exact reason--lack of romantic attraction. Then at the end he tears down the background, thus tearing down society expecting him to fall in love. And that my friends is another reason why this sing is an ideal aromantic anthem.

@@Mia-vp6xl (first, I'm not the best educated person ever so someone correct me if im talking crap ^^' this is just meant to be helpful I guess :)) so, I think depending on how old you are it might be normal to never have been in love before. Being aro or ace means the lack of romantic or sexual *attraction.* I think there might be loads of people out there who do experience those kinds of attraction and never have been in love. As a fellow ace being I can't really explain how attraction works xd but yeah, bare in mind, you can be allosexual and not be in love :)

I never understood why “you’re just a late bloomer/you’ll find the right person” was meant to be a rejection. Like, sure, the future is full of possibilities but we’re in the present and right now this is how I feel. Just because things change doesn’t mean that what you are in the moment isn’t valid, anymore than saying a child isn’t really young because they’ll be an adult someday.

I can’t express enough how much this song would have changed my life if I heard it when I was growing up. I felt so absolutely alone and I didn’t know if anyone else was going through the same thing I was, and hearing a really good song that communicated exactly what I was going through in such a happy tone would’ve helped so much. I don’t think i’ve Ever related to something more in my life. I’m 16, and most of my friends are in relationships, or at least have crushes. And I don’t. I don’t mind love and I definitely would like to get married sometime - but i’m NOT ready now. I’m perfectly happy spending my time doing school work (#homeschooled) , developing a hobbie, or blowing bubbles while babysitting neighbor kids. Everyone try’s to give me Sympathy, but I honestly prefer it this way right now. You hit the nail on the head again Will!

I love this. This is a perfect representation of how I feel about romance: I've never had it, I feel a bit like I should, but not really. Maybe one day I'll fall in love, but so far it hasn't happened and I don't really care

I love this song, especially the fact that so many aro or ace songs are sad songs and I really wanted one that shows that there’s more to these identities than mourning

Honestly I love this. Defying the over romanticized, puppy love standards for music these days. Listening to it on repeat to calm the little coming out as aroace panic. Even when I know it's going to go well because I'm talking to people who love me, there is still this little doubt and fear that it's going to change things (which is the all point but you know what I mean) and that they won't love me as much ?
