What is your recommendation for an antenna, in an area where there are lots of woods?
QUESTION: I have HOA rules where I live now. I want to put up an antenna for my CB and a future short wave purchase. This might sound crazy but could I run an antenna wire inside of my gutters and then down thru a downspout and then into my house? I would attach it to the inside so it wouldn’t be in the water most of the time but without drilling holes in the outside face of the gutter. My neighbor wants to run a cb antenna line underground out to the woods behind his house and then run it up the back side of a tree. I said I’d help him but some one would probably see us back there while one of us is up in the tree. LOL. We might be up a tree without a ladder. But would those ideas actually give up some extra range???? I know it sounds goofy! 🙏🏼🇺🇸

plenty of hams do this. they run a wire around the gutters and make an antenna out of it Look up gutter antenna wire and look for some ideas! Here is a great page on how to do it www.eham.net/article/33775
