That old Cat came to life. Love seeing that old iron purring (maybe because I work for that big yellow company). Glad you got it turned over, and to see a simple thing like bad grounding can cause so much issues. The crud that came out of that stack was awesome. Thanks Hank for the entertainment. Jason

That's the cutest little vise grips I ever saw I have a real small pair of channel locks I use everywhere one of my favorite tools

Wow my tow truck with a 7.3 idi engine was doing the exact same thing when i tried to turn it on and the positive starter cable was getting to hot it ended up burning the starter so i had to replace the 3 batteries, starter and positive cable now seeing this video i can tell my starter doesnt have a negative ground...
Man it had good compression it runs great! I loved all that rust and soot that blew out of the stack that was funny.

I love your idea, it’s a bit choppy to watch and kinda runs on, but I like it! It’ll get better with time. Also aero kroil, it’s 1000 times better! liquid wrench is a waste in comparison

Just got done watching the melon green autocar first start,that was it bad ground,but the greatest part was when it started looked like a woodchipper spitting out last years.meal.i knew thats why you cracked up.was waiting for the reference but it never came.still glad you fellas had fun,just wondering on these adventures do you get alot of ticks.i know when i was stationed at fort picket in Virginia you couldnt walk ten feet in woods without picking up a dozen.cool one guys,snookie pa.

Sometimes instead of so much starting fluid I have used a rag soaked in gas to thin the mixture, not sure what to do about the starter performance hopefully more amps will help also electrical cleaner could help

I used to have a 55 chevy 3/4 ton. I had parked for a year. When I got it started ,dead mice blew out of the pipe along with a a bag of dog food..
Living in NH I don't think I've ever said "For February it's a little warm at 9:00am" LOL

I've always used baking soda (not baking powder) mixed in with water works wonders to get corrosion off battery cables.

Liquid wrench adjustable wrench spanner cleaned up wires good battery. Dam hank your a changed man. Should do a will it star using the adjustable for the nostalgia of the old days.

For diesel truck * if soo long nut running and difficult to start * check your earth wire @ negative connection ...! regards from kuala lumpur .
What type of engine does it have? Cummins or a Cat? thanks and keep up the fine work.

Excellent video Hank :) also guys to and told the big battery & cables fix up did what need that green Auto Car truck working right plus and plus fuel prime too! Also when blew out exhaust was old carbon plus dirt and Hank don't worry get head to toe get dirty because that Mechanics dream to and I had my share plus smoke on from dirty fuel pump for desiel farm tractor and combine was gas on cold starts too smoke up strom to till clearing up to Lol! Well done to Hank and crew ✔ also excellent videos always too!

Yeah it was insane. lol
All those cables are corroded. I remove them and clean them with a cup wire brush in a cordless drill. So many penetrating oils on the market. Good ole P.B. Blaster and Seafoam Deep Creep work well for me. I have used another called Freeze Off that works well, but it is much higher priced. Eating dirt is part of working on trucks. I work on farmers trucks and beg them to at least drive them over a low water crossing or wash them once in a while. Funny how they can afford a 250,000$ tractor but can't afford a 250$ pressure washer.

One thems missing a wire connector just hold the end it pass through them ground it
It sounds good the Old Kitty CAT....Good motors....I dont think where You put that ground was a Very good place. On that Spring Shakle bolt. Good deal you got it started..
