If I had the money, I would restore this beauty with NOS/OEM parts. Love those wipers, when they will be inspected.
Looks like an old Academy bus from the paint scheme .... I have driven those bus's and they are runners, but all the ones I drove were 5 speed manuals ... Real nice sounds ...
She's a beauty. I would have checked for a stuck rack before firing her up but that's irrelevant now. She sounds and looks great. Ready for a trip.
Awesome, I love those old MCI buses. The D4505s grandfather. Please post more videos of this coach. Driving.

The MC9 was the absolute workhorse for years. It was the motorcoach that put MCI on the map and put Eagle out of business. I run a Prevost now but I do appreciate MCI’s older motorcoaches. Their new ones not so much.
Wish I had the $$, restore this gem 💎 and go for a road trip! Love these MCIs and the DL102 too....it's I'm really nice shape with a great interior and livery....(the interior is basically the same as NYCMTAs 102DL3/D4500 fleet, less the commode and tvs)
Nice looking coach, love the blue stripes and stainless and the Detroit sounds great.

I owned an 82 Eagle . Unfortunately Eagle Bus was owned at the time by a crook that put the final nail in the coffin of Eagle. I wish to the good Lord that some American investors would resurrect the Eagle Bus Company but that’s just not going to happen again. Anyway, these old 2-stroke Detroit engines are a huge part of American history. They literally built this country. I glad that guys like Bus Grease Monkey are trying to keep them out of the scrap yards.
I have a 1993 mci model 12 that I purchased in poplar bluff Missouri with the exact same color scheme. Wow i bought it that way

8V71 N Detroit Diesel engine with HT740 Allison Transmission the rest of those Academy buses were equipped with the 6V92TA Detroit Diesel engine with HT740 Allison Transmission even the 102C3 models
I used to see that Academy Tours buses either a 96A3 or 102A3 and that Ex Academy bus Tours is the one that I see charter through Atlantic City for Casinos my favorite Memories when I was a kid to adult Hood the last time I seen it running in 2008 I believe

8V71 not 92 and that is a fact.
This bus powered by 8V71 Detroit that was switched on as the open was flipped in the back in terms of the open ing of the old stream of players in terms of wind tunes of diesels in the 1980s.

I thought those would have the 8V92TA instead of the 8V71 by the mid 80s.

The 71s may not be as powerful but maybe more reliable as they have dry liners. In fact 71s are quicker off the mark as they don't a fuel modulator.

I'd hazard a guess that it's motor doesn't have many miles on it. I could swear it had either an 8v71 or 6v92t in it when I left Spartans in 07. Could be faulty memory though, but I remember that one idling differently then the rest of their fleet, which all had 8v92t at the time.
