Most great tractors have caring, knowledgeable owners. Dearler in Pennsylvania,USA sold Zetor and Belarus,back in 1993, had 3 cyl Zetor from India and a Belarus 250, bought the 250, for 3 grand less, brand new. Still have it, never, and I mean "NEVER" failed to start in 30 yrs, love that Same V-4 air cooled diesel. Thanks for sharing 👍

We had a Same Delfino 35 hp 4x4 tractor on our vineyard, 2 cylinder 2.0L, ran on the smell of an oily rag and was incredibly reliable. Still going strong 16 years later, we bought it second hand, when we sold the vineyard in 2016! Did an awful lot of good work for us and my wife used to love driving it.

That Eytie engine sounds great, thought it was going to be a smoker but it cleared up quite well. It would be a shame to just let it rot. If, as you say, you could get that blade to angle and it looks as though it's strong enough to push some dirt you could use it to flatten out a site for a new shed or two.
@stevesplacedownunder

Hi mate. I think a set of injectors or at least get get them serviced she might be better. Still breathing very heavily. I’d use it all the time if you could angle it. I’ve got a cylinder here to use on it. All I need is a valve and I can make it happen.

You have some nice old tractors there. I don't know much about the two that you drove, but the old Massey tractors you have were sold half way around the world and parts are still available. Keep those old things running and they might out live all of us. Keep up the good work.
@stevesplacedownunder
Жыл бұрын
Hi Brian thanks for watching mate. I don’t know a lot about those ones either mate. I used to have the 6ft slasher on that zetor, as it was in this video, but since I bought the Massey 165 off the family I put it on that and haven’t regretted it. Such a beautiful tractor to use with the power steering and everything is so easy compared to the zetor. I have 2 MF 35’s also with the 3 cylinder Perkins in them, both great tractors. I also have 2 MF 30’s which are made in France(I think). Those France ones are very hard to find parts for mate. Thanks again mate and there’s plenty more to come

@@stevesplacedownunder Here in the US there are a lot of old Massey Harris and Massey Ferguson tractors around. The 135's are still popular with a bunch of people. They are popular with collectors too, so if you have trouble getting parts, see if you can make contact with some people here. I'm sure there are some people here who know of places to obtain parts or ways to fix old parts. Good luck.

Me mate who worked at a dealer in the day said it was a problem so workm harder it cleared them up. I have some dealer manual s came with it. Don't let hydraulic oil leak out of implement s it will screw the transmission., A common gearbox problem.

All really good to deal with, we have a couple of Older and Newer Same's we run along with a couple of David Brown's.

Hi mate yeah ok I didn’t know they were popular down there. Parts were hard to get years ago so I’d imagine it’s harder now. I remember it broke a part in the lift behind the seat. We ended up finding one in Dungog. Had to buy the whole lift component and pull the part from it. It was a fairly technical process to fit and adjust. Another bloke also recommended Burnett’s. Once I buy the tractor off the owner I will pull her down and see what she needs. Good to see you run David brown tractors. I like them. I have one old 30c petrol here and a 1200 I think it is but it’s locked up. I haven’t looked into what’s wrong with that one. I got it in that condition
@mtozzy11

@@stevesplacedownunder they were hugely popular in the mountain areas and with the grape growers. We had one of the main importers here in Robertson and for 30 years just about every second tractor was a Same. Yeah parts can be hard to get even for the newer ones but they can be found. The Centrauo being a two year only model will be hard to get bits for but they are a great machine and very unique with the V4 and fairly rare even by Euro standards . Grandpa and Dad started with fordson and then went to David Brown's and then Same. Rather than trade them in we just built another shed and kept them. Ive got a 950, a 66 880 a 66 990 a 72 1210 4wd and a 84 1494. The Same's 81 Centruion 75, 82 Buffalo 130 a 97 Dorado 70, 2001 Dorado 85 and a 2006 Dorado 86. I worked as an agricultural machinery mechanic in Germany 25 years ago. Same tractors were always a pain, I didn't like them at all. unreliable, especially in winter and difficult to repair compared to the other brands we have served. Luckily there were only a few of them among our customers. There were also always problems obtaining spare parts. Still, a great performance and an entertaining video 👍🏻

Steve, you know what equipment you need regularly, so get those up to right first, then as time allows, bring all the rest up to right. One of the most successful independant farmers I knew in the US operated his grandfather's farm this way, every machine on it from the beginning was overhauled, repainted, and in garages, said it took 5 years to get it like that, equipment his dad & grandfather had just left sitting for decades took longest, but now if needed he can do small jobs around the farms without pulling out the expensive new prone to electronic failure mega-tractors which the old stuff now 'backs up' if the dealer can't get a service truck out quickly enough to repair the new electronics. If it couldn't be repaired, he bought another like it, and the original became his parts stock. only 2 ancient tractors and a couple of accessories were in that category.

@johndenton5555

@@stevesplacedownunder Basically the same thing, he was in a bit better shape to start as most of their old stuff was still garaged in buildings too small for the newer replacements, and their farm had expanded largely after he took it over from his dad, so he wasn't having to reclaim an entire farm at the same time as you've been, that in itself is a remarkable feat worthy of a book, a video series, even a mini-documentary with photos if no video for KZread.

Yes mate it’s a 4911 and it sat for at least 28-30 years so hopefully I can do a first start on it. I will put up a community post about it in an hour or so. Keep an eye out for it. Yes they are in your history so I’m not sure how many were brought over to Australia. Certainly not a common machine here
You always find these cool gold mines of neglected stuff. Definitely need a bottle holder for each rig.

I’ve found a few good things mate yes. I’ve got a little cooler bag with a few of those elastic straps that can adapt to most vehicles
I love both the Same and the Zetor. My dad owned an 1968 3511, great tractor, this 6911 one is just bigger, but in fact the same. And the Same tractors.... I worked with the Saturno 80, with an inline 4 cilinder. Also the Panther 90, and the Tiger 100, both 5 cilinders. Great simple tractors

Hi mate they are great tractors. The zetor is a really good powerful machine. I actually have a smaller one coming, a 3 cylinder one which is identical to this one but smaller. Good comment mate it’s great to see blokes appreciate this stuff rather than the British and American equipment all the time.

Gday Garry yes it should be our emblem mate it’s everywhere. I believe there were a few same dealers up that way. I’ve got parts for it from a bloke in Dungog in NSW before. That’s when it was used for farming. Once I Aquire it I will be pulling her down and searching for parts

Good to see the Centrauo Running. They were very popular on the South Coast and Southern Highlands. She'd be a 1970 - 1972. Parts for the old Same's are getting hard to get but I'd be trying Aussie Ag Spares in Sepparton (Darrell) Burnett's in QLD and D & D in Griffith and John Wright in Kangaroo Valley ( He's a wealth of knowledge.

All have their specific jobs that they are good at and they are all turn key ready for a days work.

@@stevesplacedownunder there are also people for whom these are the best tractors... personal taste and experience with the different brands are crucial. For me personally, the IHC/Case 1455XL was the optimum at that time. I also liked the Ford TWs, which didn't get much approval from my colleagues 😂

Hi John thanks for watching. The ones I use are ok at the moment. They need a bit of work but nothing serious enough to stop it. I’ve heard a few of these stories now mate where the blokes are still farming with the old equipment or just prefer older equipment. It’s great that people are still using and restoring this stuff. I have that much stuff here at my place that I don’t know where to start
@johndenton5555
Жыл бұрын
@@stevesplacedownunder Basically the same thing, he was in a bit better shape to start as most of their old stuff was still garaged in buildings too small for the newer replacements, and their farm had expanded largely after he took it over from his dad, so he wasn't having to reclaim an entire farm at the same time as you've been, that in itself is a remarkable feat worthy of a book, a video series, even a mini-documentary with photos if no video for KZread.
