I still have my old man's 1952 AC WD. He bought it used in the mid 60s to be used with his AC roto baler. If I had a dime for every bale that tractor/ baler rig put together, I would be a rich man. The sound of that tractor brought back memories for me. Thanks for saving it from destruction.

About 20+ years ago, I bought five vintage Allis Chalmers tractors sitting in an overgrown blackberry patch. I sold the CA to a restorer and a C to another vintage tractor enthusiast. A second C and B were in such bad shape that I parted them out. The oldest was a 1st production year B with a 4 digit serial number and ORIGINAL Wyco magneto. With profits from the other sold and parted out tractors I was able to fully restore my early B model and won a prize for it at show. These old workhorses will run longer than we will.

My father told me that when I was 4 (1959) that I was on our WD with him. He threw the hand clutch and got off to open a gate. I grabbed the hand clutch and pulled it back. He said I was grinning big. I got it through the gate and let go of the clutch. He said I did really well except for clipping the post. I remember riding on the battery box while he was plowing a field. I grew up with my butt in that seat many many hours. Plowing at night after school, the muffler would get cherry red. The good old days!

I too got on a Johnny at four and had trouble making it through the gate. Seemed mighty narrow at the time. The Johnnie's clutch was forward, not back like on this WD. I knocked my first light pole down at 6, the main one to our house with the pickup. Slipped over on the wet grass.

Good day Boy your intro, you are tedding with rake! 2 neighbours had allis rakes & done that. What was that board there for? I notice by were pulley goes there was a tap or valve for hydr. Boy runs ! OK what was on trailer? Thanks U know many yrs ago we had ford van with 3.0 litre in I think that would be a good motor in tractor. A little bigger that 226 & not crazy on gas that is 1.60/ litre. Thanks A few more videos, or I my missing them

Good day Don, yeah that Allis rake works well, 2 speed plus tedding with adjustable pitch. By board do you mean the piece of tin covering the alternator? Was there when I picked it up. Sitting on the trailer in the back is a series 1 D17 with Allis 400 loader , that will be the subject of a different video. This is only a WD with the 201 engine , I can cut hay and rake all day on a tank they are pretty efficient. As for videos , I had a few shorts , but no real content is of late until this one. Was difficult getting back to normal life after I lost my father in February. Thanks for watching , cheers

Likely your point gap being too small , as it warms up it doesn’t leave enough dwell time , condenser could be going bad or the coil could be breaking down when hot. Also check the ignition timing. Start there and let me know how it goes , happy to help if I can , cheers
