So simple, basic and easy to work on you gotta love it. It takes me back to the good old days when my Dad and I worked on our cars back in the 50s and 60s.

Something for the future if you ever mess with another one of these engines that’s been sitting it’s a good idea to pull the valve cover and soak the rockers too. 216 and 235 Chevy engine have a kind of a floating valve seal that like to stick and I’ve seen them stick bad enough to break rockers. They’re not the easiest things to get for these engines and they’re not cheap when you find them Easy way to roll these over by hand is the hand crank used for starting in an emergency

The you tube channel you are referring to that is produced by the Christian fellows out of Texas is called "Restored". It's an interesting channel if you like seeing very old vehicles that have been sitting for decades started and driven out of their proverbial graves.

Awesome, thanks for the info.
I never put that junk I'm my old engines all it does is squirter out of the cylinders and when it starts just bellows out smoke dirty up your plugs.

@@sideyardmechanic i've seen some of our great utube editors put in a huge amount of that along with vinegar, WD-40 break cleaner...etc..etc... and all it did was just splash it all over the areas of the engine you don't can't get clean easy unless you power wash, great video.
Not sure why, but l really like these old trucks. They're kind of ugly. But then again, I like the ugly ones and the odd balls.
First impressions looking at the motor ---------- whoever made the fuel lines use a tubing bender. Much better than most !!! Did you do any investigating to see if this had been converted to 12 volts. It was six volts stock. You mentioned "Hayward". Is that SF Bay Area ?? If so, I'm located on the other side of the bay !! ;o)

It looked like it had been converted to 12v. It had a 12v regulator, we used a 12v battery to crank it over. My 54 f100 is still 6v.

WOW! I would love to see your truck. thanks for the view and comment.
Hard to tell if it has a rebuilt motor, or just a krylon rebuild. Definitely does not look original to the truck.
