That boat is a keeper as it’s unusual and very well built. You are so lucky to have Jen as she puts up with you dragging anything home but Gus steals the show. Well done guys. Cheers Stuart 🇦🇺

I've never seen a mechanic who can repair everything from bicycles to airplanes. You are extremely sincere and loving with your profession. I was very surprised that the machine has been dead for years and you start it so easily and even get the work done from it. I want to be your student.
I have no interest in the boat but as a mechanic for 40+ years I have to tell you how amazed I am by your videos. Your knowledge and understanding of every system is truly impressive. What really blows my mind is your willingness to do what it takes to accomplish these tasks under the worst of conditions. Your troubleshooting techniques always follow the most useful and logical order, eliminating the need to throw unnecessary parts at it. I would be interested in knowing where you received your formal education. Your common sense approach is far from common. I like Jen and Gus as crucial members of your team, she is a keeper 👍. Thanks for the tips and entertainment.

That's a blast from the past!! I used to be an Ultranautics dealer in San Diego in the 80's and 90's. Ultranautics Corp manufactured the WetBike and SeaFlash, as well as the Jetstar. That Jetstar is a cool find. They are a riot to drive! It has a 60 hp Suzuki powerhead from the 80's. (Same powerhead that is used in their 50 and 60 hp outboards. Parts for the carbs and engine are readily available online and at Suzuki dealers. It uses the same jet pump assembly as the Wetbike and SeaFlash. The engines and jet drives are really bulletproof! I hope you fix it up and have fun with it!
There’s something so satisfying about watching someone bring an old car or boat back to it’s former glory!
these boat ones are some of the most satisfying videos on the internet

It's nice how you can see through all the dirt. When I saw it at the beginning I thought 'who would buy that piece of crap?'. But it ran so sweet in the end!
im 60 now so alot of your content strikes my soul i grew up in early 80s i remember them brand new they cost more than my papertroute savings could buy.but i saw lots of familys having fun with them boats.my family had a 59 ugly boat i remember like yelling ....floor it dad and it coudnt get my 7 year old body outa water.just when i was almost up the engine would sputter it was a piece of crap.but it was fun and memory i will never forget it.i remember my dad tryed everything changing spark plugs coil ect but mom finally said shes not a keeper i rember that.but dad was stubborn he kept trying to prove her wrong.it was a turd but i give him respect for that.many hot days he worked hard to make it better
My shop does all types of carb repair, I found that using napa dip tank cleaner works best for us, turn your heat to max ,the flash point on the cleaner is quite high so their is not much danger of fire.
found you 5 days ago and nearly watching 3 hours a day ur videos. love ur stuff and your know how. greetings from germany
Just found your channel. Great content! I’m finishing a full restoration of a 1969 StarCraft that was in my family since new and sat for 27 years. I gutted it to bones last year and rebuilt all the floors and furniture. Last weekend I rebuilt steering and new controls. Reinforced steel plated transom and mounted a nice 20hp Johnson I got for 359.00 from a marina trade in. All that’s left is a fuel pump that’s not getting gas through. So your video got me gassed up to head over and finish it up tomorrow and finally get it on the water. Haven’t ridden in it since I was 8. I’m 47 now. Lol. But the boat now has a new life instead of becoming scrap. And I’m only into it for about 600.00. But glad I found your channel. Right up my alley of content. ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
Idk what I liked more the boat fix or Gus. He’s one cute puppy !!! ❤️🐶🥰

There's an old saying, "you don't own a boat, the boat owns you."
Great channel love all your guys content…. FYI With cleaning carburetors and stuff plugged up a old timer in our rc flying club showed me a great tool to use. Seams to easy but work’s amazing on multiple things is to take a old crock pot and fill it with straight antifreeze (green kind) and turn it on and let it soak overnight and all your parts come out looking brand new and super clean and it doesn’t hurt and of your parts ….. we use it a lot to free up old rc plane engines and carburetors that’s seized up. Hopefully this trick helps make your jobs easier
Nice how your experience and knowledge gets your projects done at a minimal cost with boat meaning ( bust out another thousand). Lots of admiration and your videos are fantastic, jen and gus are icing on the cake.
Absolutely amazing. That think looked totally "finished" and your No Nonsense Knowhow got it brought back to life. I am so impressed with your abundance of knowledge.👍
Really love these videos, very entertaining and quite educational and informative. Great content!
New subscriber, love watching your videos. All the projects are amazing, but the most amazing thing is your wife’s patience. She’s an absolute saint. If I rolled into the driveway with this boat, she’d have the doors locked making me take it back before I could come in lol
If everybody had an easy in and easy out boat ramp like you and access pretty much whenever you want it, there'd be more happy boat owners. I truly envy you during the good parts of the year. Great video. I'd keep that little jewel if it were mine.
Great video! All these boats hold up surprisingly well, can't wait for more lol!

Now you can go ripping around with Cletus! Very cool little boat. Great job getting it running!
Hi mate sorry comment not about your boat as I've just found your channel. I'm from the UK and I'm now retired, I was a diesel mechanic one way we used to start diesel engines in the cold or if out of service for years was a rag soaked in oil held in the air intake lol. Also a British engine maker called Gardiner not only would they run away they have been known to run away backwards and run on oil out of the pan and difficult to stop before they went BANG. Love the videos ☝
So cool Gussie is my favorite dog on the Tube.. so cool that little jetboat those are SO much fun, especially on a lake.. awesome video
awesome as always! I have a larger Ultrasonic cleaner with heating element and use a degreaser in in mixed with water. 30 mins usually and carbs and all sorts of small motor parts come out beautiful. Love all your episodes. You guys are great

Love how you check to see if the engine is locked up or not before doing anything else, not many people do that anymore! Keep it up love the video!
2👍👍for the sheet metal boat storage cover. And another for waking up the starter with air hammer therapy 👍. It ran good when parked ..... so good that someone messed with the carbs 😁. Runs good now, Nice work.
When I was broke down on the water this summer. There was a boat very similar to this broke down right next to me. Little outboard power head on a jet pump . Cool setup. What a score!
That boat cleaned up nice inside and out. Little bit of elbow grease goes a long way. Good video
Man I really enjoy ur videos I just can’t wait for the next one to come out lol I like the way you just rip into it and get it done it’s the way a lot of us old Country farm raised make it work kind of people have done it for years and it’s good to see it’s still around anyway I just really enjoy ur videos and I’ll be waiting for ur next one thanks for sharing have a good one and give Gus’s an exter treat he deserves it he is such a cool pup just love his life jacket and the way ya pick him up lmao
your wife is a happy smiling person great energy cant say the same for most lol and she seems supportive
I'm loving this guy's enthusiasm, just the type of brother I would appreciate.
Your videos are always good stuff !👍👌 big fan of the pocket mechanic Gus !👍👌💘
New sub here! Someone may have mentioned, but use Purple Power or Mean Green in the ultrasonic cleaner. It works great and is not as corrosive as the parts cleaner. Also, turn the heat (TC) function on 10min or so before you soak anything to warm up the solution. Side note: the heater DOES NOT shut off when the timer ends, so make sure to turn it off or unplug. Great video by the way!
Damn this was awesome. cleaned the hell out that boat and 12,600 for that car in its condition is solid
I love how you work on stuff because its exactly how I like to do things. Get it running with minimum effort, and use force when getting impatient haha.
Thank you for the entertaining video, love the content and of course love seeing Jen and Gus... I've never seen a boat like that.., but would like to see you use a proper fuel tank for safety sake..
I’d love to be your next door neighbor your hands are magic my friend.
Thanks so much for the amazing videos. Enjoy all of you in them . Such a happy little family. Can't stop watching your videos. Make me motivated to get my own stuff going. Love you guys. 👍👍👋👌
Something else you can use to clean the seat of a carb is a q tip in a drill with a dab of baking soda or valve grinding compound.Keep up the good work, enjoy your videos.Channels like yours is what makes KZread worth watching.
Another cool boat revival, your knowledge is killer on all things that make stuff work... .and the hoard of parts don't hurt either! Keep it going and great job Chris... have a good one!
A q tip with valve lapping compound does the needle seats amazing

Hey! I know that bridge! lol Great video, can't wait to watch more videos. Thanks!
I once went to a friend of a friend's lakefront house and upon arriving, found that there was a small boat in the garage. I thought it would be cool to spend the weekend riding in that little boat, so I asked him about it. His reply was in the lines of _"This thing has been sitting for over 20 years. Feel free to try to get the engine to run, good luck at it. If you get it t work, you can have it for the weekend. I'm off to the lake, see ya"._ The engine was a two-stroke Johnson 25 outboard. I removed the spark plug, dropped a little oil in the cylinder, tried to pull the recoil to see if the engine was seized. It wasn't. So I cleaned the spark plug, drove to the gas station, bought two-stroke oil and gas, mixed it, fueled up, remounted the spark plug and tried firing up the engine. It ran on the first pull. There was nothing wrong with the engine, it just sat there for over 20 years waiting for someone to fire it up, and ran beautifully on the first attempt. So we all had a great weekend on the lake, with an unexpected boat to play with.
Great vid as always ! Love the way Jen makes it CLEAR how she's feeling ! eg starts the car and does the Hmmph .. You tell him Jen !!

That is one cool little boat. I'm glad you saved her.
That Chem Dip is good stuff. That’s all I use for cleaning carburetors. Just make sure to remove rubber parts like o-rings and such. It will make them swell. Also, once the parts are clean, you can rinse them with water and blow them off.
I read the comments today and learned something new about cleaning carbs
