Will It Be Mudavadi Or Uhuru?
Has TNA's Uhuru Kenyatta agreed to step down from the presidential race in favour of his UDF counterpart Musalia Mudavadi? Or has Mudavadi agreed to support Kenyatta's candidature in exchange for the role of majority leader should the URP/TNA/UDF coalition form the next government? These questions surfaced last night after the announcement of a pre-election coalition between the three parties with an agreement that William Ruto would remain the running mate to either Kenyatta or Mudavadi. Sources told Citizen TV today that although the coalition agreement stated that the presidential torchbearer of the coalition would be agreed upon within the next 14 days, it seems the three leaders have already secretly agreed on who the candidate will be.

Amen to that! PK was/is my candidate of choice. I wanted a president that reached & preached for people to vote across tribal lines. Kenya is still at an infancy stage of democracy and as long as the people back home are the only ones getting a chance to vote, nothing much will change.

The question to uhuru and ruto is a difficult one here! once they support a mudavadi presidency and assuming he wins, will he refuse to hand them over to ICC should it come to that? mudavadi might be weak/timid as many say, but power corrupts! moi was once a "timid vice president", that changed when he became president!! is the same possible with mudavadi??

Watching in 2022 now Ruto and mudavadi are together to take uhuru led Azimio one Kenya coalition whose flag bearer is Raila .politics is indeed a dirty game

they will have a nomination just as a matter of formality, in which they will silently support mudavadi or uhuru will step down for mudavadi. remember, they all know a uhuruto presidency & Vice presidency and mudavadi as majority leader will only sell in central & rift and effectively lock them out of western, likewise, if ruto was to be given majority leader, rift will say a BIG NO! so kenyatta will have to forego his ambitions for now, main agenda here is to block a raila presidency!
How the marriage started. Today the divorce is messy. However, madvd is still the same always waiting to be given the top seat.
Where is PK?! Would have loved to see him as the flag bearer here instead of Uhuru or Mudavadi!!
True! I really wonder how and why they locked us out like that! I was really looking forward to casting my ballot..I have also always wondered how UK and Ruto plan to run this thing with the US,UN and the international community breathing down their necks! If Kenyans knew better, we could voted, PK, Karua, Kiyapi and/or Tuju...Not these den of thugs RAO included!

The only way Kenya avoids far reaching sanctions from the western dominated UN is by having Mudavadi as the presidential candidate (if they win). The Uhuru-Ruto ticket will bring about some crazy stuff and will doom the coalition. Debates? In Kenya? I seriously doubt it. Instead of these last minute political marriages, I just wish they would band together and form single unitary party for better or worse. Too bad the diaspora wont get to vote since we could really shake things up.

I hear you @john mouphy, that's what we spectators do, we speculate. My speculation is, business interests for Kenyatta and his family is paramount. UK would not wish to Jeopardize the family business empire. I don't know how to separate UK the politician and UK the businessman.

...will he refuse to hand them over to ICC should it come to that? This not a Question to Ask. If you are talking of El-Bashir then it is relevant. Uhuru and Ruto Have been to the Hague Without being handed over by anyone. I Believe that If ICC summons the to the Hague now, They Should Go and the Would go. And I believe that Should they take the power, Hague should not fear to summon the if ICC wants to. They Question is irrelevant, You are painting a picture that they have been defying Hague.

Uhuru knows that if elected the sanctions will affect his and his family's business empire. So he has craft a scheme where he will run the government as a puppeteer, with Musalia as the the puppet and Ruto as bouncer in the theater. Brilliant! at least he has decided not to sink the country and his family with him. As an after thought that scheme sounds very Kibaki-sh, surely UDF was formed in the statehouse, poor Mudavadi I don't think he even understand it.
