    The l'oreal bond repair line is almost identical to the redkin acidic bond line. Imo the biggest difference is smell. Most (if not all) redkin products have a l'oreal version. Hope this helps.

    As a curly girl who occasionally straightens (see: MAYBE 2-3 times a year 😅) one trick I’ve found to make detangling in the shower easier when going back to my natural hair, is to dry brush out any knots before I hop in the shower. makes the process so much easier but also lose significantly less hair!

    Excellent content! I've only tried NYM gel and hated it. I've been using Evanyc and Twist products with fine results. I've decided to try travel size sets of nicer brands to see if there's a noticeable difference. One use of Olaplex 3, 4,5 I had amazing resukts. Living proof shampoo and conditioner were on par with my regular products but I did not like the scent at all. Verb is next! You inspire my Mell! I always incorporate pre shampoo masks after shampoo for the same reason. Also I'd love for hairdressers to focus on hair science and haircare and not commissions from marketing high end products. L'Oreal owns Redken yet one is more recommended than the other solely because of price. Products don't do anything when a hairdresser butchers the fuq out of your hair. Also K18 is $75 for 15ml.

    Hi Mell! I really appreciate this video and that you mentioned how “bond building” has become such a powerful word for marketing. I’m curious if you would recommend doing a shampoo before the Curlsmith Bond Curl Rehab Salve (which is also a pre-treatment). Additionally, I have really been loving the Olaplex 4c (I have super hard water… it’s made SUCH a difference! Thank you!) but would it be better to alternate the two? In other words, is the olaplex 4c removing what is supposed to be left behind by the Curlsmith Rehab Salve?

    If we're talking about olaplex and k18... K18 is 1 treatment that works so well with damaged hair (I'm referencing the hair mask). Olaplex only seems to work good if you get your hairdresser to straight up use it on your hair (like they mix the chemicals themselves), but their whole product line is disappointing. I checked the website for k18, and it looks like they're going the olaplex route for making more products. I hope they're as good as their original hair mask! Like I hope they don't dilute their bonding ingredient in other basic ingredients like olaplex did.

    I love your videos. I don’t have damaged hair really as I don’t use hot tools or dye my hair. I also have very non porous but fine hair. No matter how long I hover diffuse my scalp is always the last thing to be dry. My hair is completely dry but my scalp will be damp. My hair holds onto moisture really well. I really want to see an in depth video on how to section hair and style for non porous hair since you and your sister always have porous hair for examples.

  • @afrotiffy

    @afrotiffy

    28 күн бұрын

    Hover diffusing is for the start and majority of your drying time but not necessarily the entire routine. Once you start to get the firm cast on your hair from your gel, mousse, or creme, you absolutely are meant to flip your head around and /or stick the nozzle right against your scalp to finish drying if needed.

  • @AshleiShipp

    @AshleiShipp

    28 күн бұрын

    @@afrotiffy I do exactly that. I start with hover diffusing then move head and hair around and put the nozzle on my scalp. But I have low porosity and fine hair. My hair took more than 20 minutes to be just damp and my scalp was damp. But I also do not form a cast with the curling foam gel she created with verb. I have used more and less and I cannot get a crunch or cast. I just am tired of my hair routine takes me over two hours from getting in the shower to being done with slightly damp hair. I know I am doing something wrong, I just don’t know what to try.

    Hi Mel, I am 61 and I am an ex hairstylist who just learned about the new way of taking care of curly hair from seeing a Bounce Curl video and I bought their stuff and did my hair and it came out perfect. Well I lost half of my hair in January due to stress, my doctor put on minoxidil and I'm taking other natural supplements. But now my hair won't work, it's 3c or more and it comes out looking like the s pattern for a perm instead of nice sausage curls. It does it on parts of my head but mostly not😢😢, any suggestions??

    What about the CurlSmith bond salve? Isn’t that a bond builder? I’m also curious why we never see CurlSmith on your channel anymore? I was hoping you would do a video on the new Volume line? What happened ? 😩

    Love the curlsmith bond salve! As for new launches, I haven’t had the greatest experiences. But I’ve tried the volume line… review is coming very soon

    I won't use Tarte shape tape because it smells like old lady perfume. The Mark Anthony side looks better, but I think I'll stick to my Ouidad and Olaplex.

    I feel like I never get whether a mask should be applied before or after conditioner, especially when it doesn't say on the product. Always thought that masks should be applied before conditioner, as conditioner should lock the hair? 😅😅
