The dude at one point was worth 113M Euro. There’s a reason why that was. He’s proven now that he’s fit again to play especially in today’s game. It sucks to be Lunin but I’m sure he’ll understand. Carlo needs his best of the best players available to play and hopefully win the final.

The thing about lunin is people like me who watched him every week will know not the people who only saw him in UCL that his command of the box is really poor many times he comes out and get's no where near the ball and we have even conceded from those mistakes. Thibo on the other hand is superb rarely makes those kind of mistakes he's tall and reads the set pieces very well. Plus the way lunin conceded the sane goal on near post Thibo would've never. I love lunin I'll always appreciate what he has done but surely Thibo should start people are really forgetting his performance in the final. He been beast since coming back also.

@@vraj8531 silva caught the whole team sleeping it was in the roof of the net way out of the reach. Mbappe goal was way low than what sane's goal if you watch it again its desirable height and length for any keeper. He didn't need to dive very low or jump high he could've simply saved it with his arm. His reflexes were slow but it's not that big of a deal everyone once gets caught out but the other point made happened a lot of time this season.

I remember sane’s goal in the first leg, Courtois would’ve never allowed that. I feel bad for Lunin but football is like this, there’s always someone better than you, Courtois time will come too where he will be replaced when his form drops due to age.

Courtois looked wonderful today, he is our best goalie, he definitely should start CL Final. Lunin will understand. I actually was saying Lunin should continue but after seeing Curtois looking this sharp i have to agree with him. Even though Lunin as been amazing they are areas he still needs strengthening in I estimate he would be a wonderful number 1 when curtois retires if we can keep him. But when Curtois is in my goal I have no worries about fumbles, low dives and crosses .

I remember watching the 2014 UCL Final when there was a whole debate whether Diego Lopez or Casillas should start, and people were saying you can't bench the club legend and he's been such a a servant and what have you. In the end, we were a 93rd minute Sergio Ramos header away from losing to Atletico Madrid... Courtois has to start. Objectively he's the best keeper in Real Madrid. He starts.

Courtois got all cleansheet after he return and you see he make many good save there... Its hard choice because UCL is different and Lunin maybe more comfortable for now as he already played it in recent games. But talk about skill, pretty sure Courtouis is step ahead him. 50-50... Both have pros and cons.

Lunin deserves to start. But its a very hard call. The decision is upto Ancelotti, but a Lunin start and a Real Madrid win will be an inspirational story.

None of those goals, except for Bernardo’s, are fair to blame on Lunin and know for a fact that Courtois would’ve saved them, especially Gvardiol’s.

Not really that simple. One played all season against the tough teams. The other basically came out of a long vacation to play the final. Lunin has more match sharpness and a few games in the league after the title has already been won against relegation fodder won`t change that.

I'm leaning more towards Lunin because without him we wouldn't have reached the final or won the league. But at the same time, I trust Carlos to also know how mentally ready Courtois is feeling. This one pointless game, even when he made some excellent saves, isn't enough to decide. What matters at the end is what will help Madrid win, whoever's feelings get hurt is secondary.

well, i really do not know medical side of it, but if courtois is truly fit and ready to go by the june, he should definetely start. like, there is no doubt about who is better. i really like lunin, his composure and his ability to control emotions, seriously, i have never seen him get angry or overly happy or sad or exited, he is one cold mf and i mean it in the best way possible, but courtois is still better my man. unfortunately, it's not even close, alright. we can't let emotions overshadow objectively better, results oriented decision and after all, winning is THE ONLY THING that matters.

Football and life general is not about deserving or feelings, reality is harsher and the fact is that even if Lunin took Real Madrid to the final at the end of the day Courtois is by far the better keeper and should start in the final. It can't be about feelings because whoever doesn't start will feel bad and from an objective point of view Courtois is just better. Lunin literally conceded 4 goals the other day and Courtois has the experience of starting in 2 finals already. I don't care if I get called based, but thats just the reality of life and people have to deal with it. But its not just about performances or who is better, even in life some people get promotions even if they don't deserve it while others don't. The relationship between the keepers and the staff and president will also play a big role. If I were Carlo Ancelotti I would pick Courtois, but even then if Fiorentino mandates to start Lunin, theres nothing you can do about it as a coach.

Someimtes I ask myself if these 3 are amateurs. How many games did Courtois have since his injury return. Who cares if you were the best in the world, after each injury its about assessing your state and recovery. Lumin has played lights out.. Probably the best penalty kick blocker with extremely high confidence. Puting anyone else in his place is a risk.

After game against Granada, I believe majority of fans still wants Lunin. After Alaves game, I can't believe there are still fans want Lunin start UCL final. At this point those fans are either being delusional, sentimental, or got no football knowledge, or simply Barca fans.

I do recognize the quandary that Carlo Ancelotti is in now to decide which goalkeeper will play on June 1st at the UEFA Championship Final match at Wembley Stadium in London. This is a very difficult decision. The replacement goalie, Andriy Lunin, has been just fantastic and is playing very solidly. Our regular goalie, Thibaut Courtois, got injured last September and was out for a long time. He just got healthy and has played the last 4 matches like a solid wall and has not allowed any goals. Both goalies have been super fantastic and very reliable. But .... if it were up to me to decide I will pick Lunin as he carried this team for most of the season. But..... Carlo cannot make a mistake by picking either goalie as both goalies are just great and will help Real Madrid win our 15th CL silver trophy. HALA MADRID

There is no way of that happening. Lunin showed up big time this season and he deserved it. If Courtois played in the final, be sure Lunin will not extend. Lunin dreams about playing in the final and this is HIS ONLY CHANCE. For Courtois to play 5 games this season (just a figure) IT WILL BE very disrespectful to Lunin. He won't be the same after that.

I disagree, Courtois has played in 3 matches, none of them being high pressure, he's not ready yet even if hes by far the best keeper in the world. Lunin we know that he will perform well, he's in excellent form. I'd say he's more likely to get a better performance in the final, therefore he should start.

@@benitnzimbi329 I agree that form is temporary, and I believe that when their careers are over Courtois will be maybe one of the best ever while Lunin probably not. However the only important thing for a match in particular is who will play better in that said match, and for that, form is very important. And I believe Lunin would play better than Courtois given the chance in the final. If Courtois was healthy a month earlier it would have been him though probably.

I'd prefer Lunin, he has proven himself that he is an integrated part of this year's ucl journey for us.

English media always messing chemistry. as a true Madrid fan i feel Lunin should start. He's been in all season. Courtois is better. everybody knows but he's been out and not been in the field for a minute. he'll start his season on a clean slate next season. all he should do is support the young gun as Lunin's been supporting him. it's the young fella's year. win or lose.. i genuinely believe we gone win. ain't no way Dortmund gone be more intense than Man City. ain't no way. so if i was Ancelotti i wouldn't go with these pundits. i'd stick to the script. i love Courtois too. This is not even an issue for me. A fit Courtios is way better than Luniin and Lunin knows that, he's a professional and he knows his place in the team. If we were talking about a team like Brazil that has Allison and Ederson who are both world class, then it's a different thing entirely not Courtios and Lunin. It's Courtios all the way, no controversy
