I remember quite a few years ago playing this tune in a big session at an English Country Music Weekend and being told it was Will Atkinson's Schottische. Willy Atkinson was a shepherd hailing from Northumberland and a tremendous performer on the mouth organ, with a great sense of the rhythm needed for dancing - look him up if you get a chance.
I very much enjoyed playing this one on Lachenal Anglo concertina and hundred year old Dolmetsch treble recorder. I played it in C but it is more usually in G. The scenery is along the Pennine Way in Northumberland.
