Literally agreed with everything he said, Wiley is so brutally honest, Post and Vis knew they had to rinse him lol! I'm just watching like yes, yes, YES! ratings

i agree with wiley. boy in da corner is the only classic grime album. and wiley hasnt had a classic album. kanos was brilliant, but not as uncomprimised as dizzee's, it was diluted with a bit of commercial tint. dizzees told a perfect story, had amazing lyrics, electronic grimey instrumentals (before it was even called grime). everyone else has got classic songs like ps and qs and eskimo. if wiley filtered down tunnel vision, into an album of 122. that could be a classic. just my opinion.

Disagree. Kano's sound might not have the pure grime sound that Dizzee's has but it is still categorised as grime and has undeniable quality that has stood the test of time. I would say Ghetto Gospel is a classic. Tales From The Crypt, Playtime is Over also. Konnichiwa and Made in The Manor may also be regarded as classics in the future. Obviously this isn't good enough for a scene that has been around for as long has grime has.

It's mad how after this interview bare man inside their hearts will be offended for Wiley just speaking HIS truth and saying how he truly feels. The Grime/UK Rap scene used to be like this, there were real men telling their truth and they weren't afraid of who they offended. Now we have artists who care more about protecting their relationships. The authenticity of the music like Wiley says comes from the pain and you don't feel it anymore. Yes we get really good music and albums but nothing with soul in it. If you're a real you would never be offended by someone telling you how they feel because we all think differently

Why was Wiley trying to discredit Kano though? When Kano came out, he set the bar so high in terms of skill and quality output. Nobody had ever seen that before. His level of skill was unprecedented, he changed the whole lyrical landscape of grime. Nobody was technical, using metaphors and all that before Kano. I think Wiley is still bitter because Kano washed him in that LOTM clash lol

TBH Wiley NEEDS to take a long hard look at himself in the mirror and fix up! It's one thing not turning up to shows that he's been booked for, or not turning up to video shoots but to not attend Jme's wedding....thats utterly disgraceful, and he's reason "I was unprepared". You're a bloody 37 year old man, how can you be 'unprepared' to turn up to your so called brothers wedding, regardless if you were working on your album the day before or not. Fully agree with Wiley, 'Boy in the corner' is the only classic album in Grime history - no debate. And i would argue against Posty's point about 'Home sweet home' making people want to rap. The way i remember it 'Ard Bodied did more to birth a new generation of UK rappers then 'Home sweet home' ever did. I'm a big Kano fan too and it's a shame he's not bigger than he is considering how talented of MC he is, but lets not get into any revisionism just because we all generally want to see Kano do well, 'Home sweet home' was good, i think it was the last physical CD i ever bought, but it wasn't and will never be a Grime classic.

I understand what Wiley is saying.He's saying what Dizzee had to say was from a perspective he could relate to more than Kano cos of Dizzee's experiences. I grew up with Wiley and I know Dizzee well. We're all from the same area so that stuff Wiley's saying I get it more. Its also a Tower Hamlets/Newham rivalry as well. Its a bit of a mad one.
