Wildlife Weekly Slimbridge - Episode 11

Happy 'Swanniversary' to us!
As we celebrate 50 years of researching the Bewick's swans we take a look back at how it all started in this week's Wildlife Weekly.
In this episode we chat to Mary Matthews one of the first researchers about how she worked with Peter Scott identifying and recording the swans.
We also hear Dafila's early memories of life in the Scott house on the edge of the Rushy lake.
Warden Martin McGill who presents this week's one describes the work the Reserve team do to create a good environment for the swans and the rewards which come with working with this special species.
If you are planning a visit from this Friday (14th) to Sunday 23rd then have a go at being a swan researcher as part of our fun activities this half term.
