So which image do you think will take top honours?

Weeeelllllll .... they're all superb in motion. I still think if you had an abstract challenge, it would be interesting to see the entries. But my picks now are @3:11 the bird (apologies, I don't know all my birds - puffin?) I love it. Why? Eye in focus, enough space left for it to fly into the image, great non-distracting background; @1:41 the leopards and the kudu - you can it, Kudu's eye in focus; @3:04 eye & beak in focus, fantastic motion with its body, enough space for it to fly into the image still; @3:26 the flamingo, it's centred but it works, wings and foot up give the motion and the water droplets just add to it all. It would be interesting to know what your criteria are but those would be my first 4. The migration one @3:46 stands out for me because its the first time I've seen a migration shot where I can feel the wave/movement. The lion ones I love, because they are one of my favourite animals. My abstract favourites are @1:48 a great abstract, @2:23 the high key is a great abstract, @2:50 abstract. Sorry for such a long winded reply. Steph

While the abstract birds in motion are interesting, I prefer a more traditional image showing movement. My favorites are the bird shaking its head (2:16), the lion shaking water (2:39), and the terns (4:07). But my absolute favorite is the heron (2:06) because the eye is sharp while the wings and legs are moving. It's shows movement, but there is a serene quality in the light and it's well framed.
I love the elephant throwing the dirt 1:14, the heron carrying the branch 3:04 and the anhinga with the water droplets 3:12. Not sure I got those birds identified correctly, but loved the pictures.

The owl shaking his head surely has to get a mention. It brings a smile to your face.
I like when photographers use slow shutter speeds to show motion, so my favorite is the small wet bird , shaking the water. Good luck to all winners.

Me too. Been playing with them a little more this past year. Still need some improvement on them throw.

Its a great skill to have!
Hard to say with so many great photos but,,, The Elephant throwing up what I thought to be dirt with its trunk in the beginning or the Great Blue Heron taking flight (3:13) with the water trail in fantastic light come to mind. I'd say the GBH.

I love it to! By the way, it,s an anhinga/African darter, a cormorant cousin, but you're right, my fave too.
CONGRATS to all those photographers - I thought I had a favourite jump out, until the next favourite jumped out ... I don't envy the judges.

Another tough round!
The Elephant at 1.12, The Lion at 3.53 and the bird at 4.00 are my favourites, they are all fab though as per usual :-)
Congratulations to All, such a difficult choice, each one a winner 🏆 My personal favourite is the flamingo, love the colour and setting. Good luck to each entrant, again, all amazing images!

Wow! I wouldn't want to be a judge for this contest. So many great images!
So many great images. My favourite is the bird taking flight at 3.12. I love the unusual lighting.
These are all stunning images. Again. If I concentrate on 'capturing movement' then I focus on the panning shots and there is one that stands out for me: the puffin with the fish in its bill. Awesome image.
great photos once again - my vote would be be the gannets but only marginally as the kingfisher, cheetah hunting and wet bird are really excellent as well...and the heron. and the darter....they are all so good.

Wonderful shots! My favorite is The heron in flight with nesting sticks...
The Darter taking off on the water is my fave
All are really good images - my bet thought would be on the two Cheetahs taking down the Red Hartebees
All great shots, but for degree of difficulty I go with the Cheetahs bringing down their prey.
