Wildflower Meadows: The Flower Effect - Chester Zoo

The Flower Effect is a short film that explores the significance of wildflower meadows in the UK. The film is based on Chester Zoos new nature reserve where they have transformed agriculture land into a thriving wildflower meadow. It will look at special relationships between plant and animal with empahsis on the burnet moth and birds foot tre-foil.
The film includes lots of amazing wildlife, some who live here such as the badger and others who travel thousands of miles to use the wildflower meadows as a breeding locaiton, such as the painted lady butterfly.
Wildflower meadows were once a common site across our countryside. During world war 2 crops were cut for cereals and ever since then famers have cut their crops up to 4 times a year, leaving no space for nature to thrive. Today though there is hope with schemes set in place to work with farmers to keep sections of their farm wild.
This film explore the significant difference in life when old agriculture land is left to flourish with wildflowers!
If you ever visit Chester Zoo be sure to check out the free nature reserve located at the back of the car park. You will not be disapointed!
