    I must confess i've never been much of an Asia fan, but i am really impressed with this. I had no idea Bumblefoot could do this lead singer thing, i thought he was just a stunt guitarist, very impressive. Howe sounds great too and holy shit, does Carl Palmer ever age? The man could still out-play any youtube sensation 1/5th his age.

    I can get behind this lineup. Bumblefoot is extremely competent, and though he differs from Wetton, and Lake, he has great tone and range. I like Coulson, but without Howe, Asia lacked the magic that made them famous. Sherwood more than capable of playing Wetton's bass lines. Palmer is always the master showman, and Downes is the glue that held it all together in all its incarnations. RIP John Wetton, we miss you.

    Greg Lake was the closest to sounding like Wetton and they even drifted apart as they aged. You aren't going to find someone like Wetton. Bumblefoot does a solid job. Just enjoy the last hurrah as we are losing the artists we grow up in bunches now. I will take ANY band past it's prime over Beyonce, Swift, Beiber, Perry, shit ALL OF THEM. For ever 100 shit artists one or two good ones show up. It is like being back in college and finding good new bands in clubs as everything that makes mainstream is over produced. Go watch Rick Beato's channel for the explanation.

    Part of that is that Thal is an American singing a song originally performed with an English accent. Thal pronounces a hard R on "Survivor" but Wetton didn't. You see the same thing when Americans cover ELP songs like Still, You Turn Me On. Greg Lake sang it as "You see it really doesn't mat-tah..." but Americans sing it as "It really doesn't MAT-ter..."

    Felipe Teixeira The problem was with his in ear system. A lot of singers experience the same issue. They think they’re spot on in pitch according to the in ear. Otherwise he has no problem reaching high notes. Listen to his original songs to hear what he is capable of.

  • @analystzorncasteel3047

    @analystzorncasteel3047

    No ... This issue is - any somewhat decent singer - the desire to start to stylistically make these songs your *'own'* .... You can't. You got to sing them like Wetton. ~ Follow his phrasing.

    No problem with a band going on touring after the death of their key member, but sorry... This Asia fan thinks this is total crap, and really a very very bad tribute to Wetton. This is not even a mouse, stepping into an eagle's shoes, so to speak. The growth potential here is absolutely non existing. Little mice might become one day big mice, but they'll never fly proudly. If they make it in the air, it's while sitting not too comfortably in the claws of an eagle or owl. This guy hasn't got the right stuff, not the right background (quantity is not the same as quality). After the steep dive of Yes, yet another band that took the Status Quo refrain "a little bit" to literally: down down, deeper and down.... These bands are becoming a complete mockery of themselves, a cartoon version. I am more and more agreeing with French actor Alain Delon's pessimistic view of today's world, which is indeed more and more "zum kotzen", to make a résumé of his analysis. Fortunately enough there's the good stuff of Asia and Yes, and to quote yet another band, I'll take care to bottle it, and label it with love. The rest is for the green flies you also can find on horseshit in the prairies.
