I have been wearing mine 15 years or better, and I continue to wear it each and every day, great price, even better product. I bought mine, while attending Tactical Defense Institute, here in Ohio.

Love my Wilderness as well. Went on to try an S.O.E. edc belt a few months ago. While the S.O.E. is very nice and great quality, I find myself wearing the Wilderness everyday. The Wilderness moves with you better and the S.O.E. is EXTREMELY stiff. Which is good, but cumbersome. So is the Cobra buckle the S.O.E. came with. The Wilderness seems to straddle the line between being stiff enough to carry my pistol, holster, extra mag and still be comfortable. If I carried a full military style load out everyday I'd pick the S.O.E. Great video!

I agree, its a very nice belt. I have tried several similar belts over the last 5 years of concealed carry and I always like the wilderness better. I use it daily now when I'm not in scrubs! No belt loops on mine. I prefer appendix carry which pushes the buckle abnormally out front. To remedy that I put the buckle on the side. That might fix the shirt snag issue as would some fine grit sand paper. My buckle is the carbon steel version 5 stitch. Although I love it the buckle it feels very heavy!! The 5 stitch is decently stiff but personally I would prefer it even stiffer. My next wilderness will be the titanium version 5 stitch with polymer liner. I believe that will be perfection for me. Good review and thank you.

+Matt Wyatt Yea, not too many belt loops in most scrubs I suppose. :-) I'd be curious to try the version with the liner just to see how stiff it is sometime. Maybe if I could find one to try on somewhere.

Good video and good advice. I have been wearing Wilderness belts since 2002. I have FDE and Black. I have 3 different lengths in FDE depending on how much gear I plan on wearing and the time of year. In Winter, with heavier clothing it is nice to have some more length on the belt. I have two thicknesses, the 5 Stitch which is plenty stiff for all uses and the Gunfighter, which is even stiffer and has the plastic insert in the middle of the webbing. When the belt finally wears out and none of mine have yet, although 1 is getting close, you can remove the buckle and send it in and they will resue it and charge you less for the next belt. A very high quality American made product. 5.11 belts are crap. Love my Wilderness belts.

+Center Mass Thanks. How do you like the stiffness of the gunfighter version? Too stiff or ok? I agree on the extra lengths. Sometimes even just with the bulkier pants like the Tru-Specs its nice to have a little extra length.

I never bought the standard thickness. I did make the error of buying an 1 3/4" belt, which was hard to fit through belt loops and I could never find a holster to fit it, so I later sold it. The 5 stitch is fine for all you would need it to do. However, the added thickness of the G.F. with the insert will not be noticed for comfort, but does give a small amount of added stiffness, call it anti roll at the top of the belt. Bottomline, for the extra couple of bucks for the G.F. insert, may as well get it, it might make the belt keep its stiffness longer as the belt ages ? Then again, my belts are old and keep on plugging away. The biggest issue I have noticed is thread fraying at the edges and the velcro not being as crisp as it once was. You can repel with these, but it is not comfortable, but if used as a last resort you will be glad that you were wearing it on the day that you need your belt to repel with. Enjoy.

+SnareMan I also have a Green Blackhawk Instr. belt. It is a non started and sits in the closet. For concealed carry it rolls at the top and is not stiff enough under load. I have another Instr belt from 215 Gear with the Cobra buckle. The Cobra buckle is very convenient to use instead of threading and unthreading the buckle as needed. Just unclip.

I got one on ebay used but excellent shape and had to modify it to my size . I had to cut the 48 size belt down and move and add velcro . I stitched it with a Speedy stitcher so for 20 dollars or so . I got a great belt .Today was the first day of wearing it as I finished it late last night . And I am thrilled with this belt . I didn't have to tighten it once . Where as the cheaper knock off I got 3 years ago for 8 dollars which I had to hand sew adding better velcro to it . Even at that it still needed tightened 2 or 3 times a day . . So if anyone is one the fence jump off .

I have a similar belt made by Bison another all American. My belt doesn’t have the magnetic garbage. In fact you are supposed to double back through the tapered end which has never failed me.

Leather is fine but the old police belts are better. With that said I like changing mine around and sometimes going with this style of belt. I love them both for different reasons

Hi everyone, I'm a first time firearm owner and the gun I purchased weighs about 2 lbs. It's for home defense. Will this belt perform well for classes and range time?

I think my Wilderness belt is 1 3/4 width....I do believe I will go for the 1 1/2 next time just for an easier fit for belt loops. I have had it for over a year now and love it other that the mentioned issues with fitting it through some belt loops. Before this belt, I had a 5/11 belt and it was not as well made. I will pay extra for quality and think this belt is a quality belt.

+CJStryke Yea, I could see that being a problem with the 1.75" size and the belt loops. Its tight enough with the 1.5" sometimes.
