Y'all did a great job showing everything ,but I think I'll pass on that even though I have children and grandchildren. To me it seemed like a money-making racket I could be wrong, but I was not impressed

Thank you for your transparency! From my own experience of traveling to the area lately, there's been a key focus on cleanliness for obvious reasons. The fact that the unit was covered in dust also demonstrated that perhaps they're lacking substantially on thorough day to day cleanings. You have to realize how hard things have been since the shutdown, it's really hard to find staff, so many didn't come back to work because they were getting more money on unemployment and then went to different jobs. The water park has health and safety laws to follow regarding life saver numbers, if the number of guards falls short they can't run the park.

I have even more respect for y’all after watching this review. Great job giving an honest impression without being unnecessarily harsh.

It was pretty loud during night hours for my family as well. We got back at around 10:30/11 PM to 2 kids eating pizza while laughing and running around. Only stopped around maybe 1 AM. We were only 5 rooms away from the one they were sitting in front of too.

I’ve wondered for years what that water park was like. Thanks for showing us. From what you showed us, I wasn’t impressed . I know that you only showed us one of the lodges , so I’ll reserve judgement on the rest of the resort. I wouldn’t want to hear kids (or anybody) making all that noise all night. I didn’t see anything there to make me want to stay there.

This is a HORRIBLE review of the actual resort.. They stayed in the cheapest, and worst spots.. The waterpark is awesome, rooms are great with fierplace and full kitchens,, indoor water park, restaurants, and much more..

This is such and awesome channel! Glad I watched this. My friend Margi and I go to Gatlinburg five times a year. We always wanted to stay here. When we’re in the area we enjoy a good nights rest in a clean environment. Thanks for the heads up!

Dolly should get you to sing at Dollywood! Those water rides were something else. Enjoyed watching.

Water park looks like fun......but yeah, I like to get my sleep at night! 😉🤣

Been here a couple times.. Great place for parents too go broke quick. Food is expensive and our stay on a weekend was over 500$ for 2 nites. Seems ok for a water park and stay but if the inside is the only thing open lines on the slide are long and my group seemed too get bored pretty quick. Great video.

My wife and I just met you two & the smoky mountain hiker at patriot Park, then watched this video. We are actually staying at the Wyndham on Collier. Seems these are much nicer than the Wilderness. Super clean and comfy.

We stay at the Inn on the River and we absolutely love it. Plan on coming up in November to stay there again. Listening to the river while you eat breakfast on your private balcony is great!!!

If you had kids and the water park was opened would make it better, but wouldn't be my first choice. Thank you for sharing. These are so helpful.

We stayed there a few years ago they were putting out new mattresses and we loved the ceramic shop we also stayed in the main building. That was our first trip to Tennessee.

We are across the street at river lodge. My dad loves watching your channel.

I've been to this resort 7 times. The best way to save money is try to rent from an owner at the Wyndham Great Smokies Lodge building on property. You enjoy all the same amenities as staying in the hotel room, but can stay in 1,2, or 3 bedroom units for about the same price.

That is so cool, I have never seen a tour where they inspected cleanliness of room. I learned something new about bed bug protection. Out of all the areas in the room the bed is the place that could be an area of concern. Good to know they take this step.

Great job on the review👍🏼 I wasn’t too crazy about the setup of the bathroom. Way too small and I also was wondering why the bathroom sink was in the room and not in the actual bathroom🤔 That kinda didn’t make sense to me. But the water park and arcade was very cool🤙🏼 Thanks for sharing💙

I agree. They always have special on Groupon and kids under 8 get to eat free. My family had a blast going there and all three water parks were open. Its really a place for kids.

Covid-19 has messed up a lot of things😷😷

Hi Dawn and Will! Love y'all's channel. We have been several places that you have been. We live just down the road in Chattanooga. We have stayed at the Wilderness several times and every time we have something go wrong. Our key cards get messed up every time, and our room is always a mile walk from the front desk. We only stayed at River Lodge once because we had 8 people. We were watching a movie at around 9:00 at night and there were kids running and screaming the whole time yet the staff took the time to knock on our door and tell us that WE need to quiet down, we were laughing too loudly. We do love the lazy river, the hot tub and Runaway Canyon. We haven't been back in about 3 years because of the problems we've had and of course Mr. McNasty. Thanks for your review.

When they shut the outdoor park they gave free entry for guests to the new soaky mountain water park to compensate, labor day is the usual closing date every year because the water gets too cold for most people 👍

The inside water park is specifically for year round access since it’s inside and it’s to keep you from swimming in the cold air so it feels like you are outside when the other actual outside ones are closed🤦🏾‍♀️

I love watching you guys! I always hope to see yall when we go up to the Smokies, but I never do. We just got back from staying at the Wilderness and I agree completely with your review. Our stay was much more expensive, at almost $300 a night, but we had the same issue with the dim lighting in the bathroom, the vent, and dust all over the furniture. I would leave the door open when I took a bath to have some light. Soaky Mountain was included in our stay this weekend though, so I can't complain cause we were able to go every single day and that saved me $200 per day. The outdoor waterparks were closed except for Saturday and Sunday too, so we actually spent more time at Soaky than the resort.

Have always wondered what the rooms looked like. Stonehill is always the accommodations that offer a “deal”. We appreciate your candid reviews. Cracked us up about the noise of the kids, underware in the hall, LOL. I would love to take our kids and granddaughter, but would probably look for a different place. Like you mentioned, the condos might be a better fit. Thank you sooooo much for the review. You’re so much fun to watch ❤️

As long as you have everything you need, for your stay, because you are out more, then you are in your room anyway. Pretty nice rooms !

I've stayed there once facing golf course. It was a 3 bedroom suite. We had a girls weekend so no kids. The suite was amazing, but Im with you too many kids. Thanks for the reviews.

Go stay at the Sydney James! One best inns in gatlinburg tn for services. Most front desk tell people watch ur channel. Keep up good work.

Oh look into greenbrier camp ground . It one of nice n cleans campgrounds... fall coming be good time go camping. They will also set up tent or rent u RV or cabin if like.

The Gillette is nice too Closer to the strip Stay away from the BellAire Cheap but not worth it

We were planning to go in April of this year, but that was sadly cancelled. We went in the summer of 2019 and that was definitely the best time of my life. Lake Wilderness was the best part. The Cyclone Racers were so fun to go down. Beds weren't the comfiest but they were fine. At the Waterdome, we'd go to the basketball area and play volleyball. I really liked the feeling of waking up in the morning and going out in the hallways and the vibe out there was phenomenal. Loved swimming, loved the food, I'd give this place a 10/10.

We were there in June and the outdoor pool was closed also. We stayed in the same building you guys did Dawn and Will, we smelled a dirty baby diaper in trash outside someones door. We coming back this month again but were staying at the Westgate Resort this time around.

If you want a condo style they have 7 villas just a 1/4 mile down the road up to 5 bedrooms

Great review! The slides looked like fun! The front desk should have put y'all in a room away from the families! It didn't look like they were crowded so they had the space. I just have to wonder what they were thinking?! Oh well, I am glad you made the best of it and had a fun time! I've always wondered about their hotels. We have one in Georgia now and I have a friend who took her children there. They had fun, but she said it was expensive! Her boys wanted everything they saw and she had to pay for alot of "extras". Be blessed ya'll!😊👍

I have stayed there was pretty fun I stayed in the main building. They still need to be updated looked like your room had a lot of stains. You would have enjoyed it better if you stayed in main building and all the water park was open for the season. The lazy river was what you guys would have enjoyed but you guys going down the water slide was so funny. Thanks for the video and the laughs. You guys are awesome!!

Loved the video. Have passed there many times, prefer something a little more relaxing. We stay down the road at the OakHaven Resort.

We do the same thing , we check everything out before we unpack. Dust seems to be an issue in most places we stay.

I have always wondered what this place was like and it reminds me of Massanutten in Virginia the indoor waterpark is exactly like it. We always had a good time and I have seen online for the Wilderness they are running a special for the next two weeks to include free waterpark tickets which is good because they are expensive themselves. I wouldn't like the noise and the restaurants are usually priced high for what you get and even tho the room was a little smaller than some of the other ones it was still kinda nice maybe not for the price tho because it looks similar to the one we have paid $60 a night in that area. (Just didn't have the waterpark, but did have an indoor pool.) Thanks for showing us the hotels. I enjoy them.

Guess "The Wilderness" is a fitting name for this place lol

i have always wondered what it looked like inside. we pass it all the time when we head to winnfield dunn parkway. thanks for showing the water dome. it was neat looking. perfect place to stay with kids for sure

I have driven by the waterpark so many times and I always imagined it much bigger inside with more options. I am surprised it didn't have a lazy river inside at least. The price is higher when the outdoor area is open, but it is fun too.

I’m going here soon. It was about 1500 for 5 nights but I can tell it’s CLEARLY worth it!! I’m so excited!!🥰 EDIT: I now realize it was that much cause my family is going so there’s 5 of us, so clearly we needed a larger one
