Great video Richy, shame about the weather. Hopefully it got a bit better for you and the lads. Me and a few mates are due to do this part of the WAW in 2022, we did the Northern part in 2018, when we had great weather, you were there same time, If I remember. Nice one.

Another great video Richy . Nothing like rain for spoiling a ride. Went up to Scotland the other week , absolutely pizzed it down the whole way up. The BB was far too posh for two soaked and filthy bikers. The owner had a look of horror on his face when we knocked on the door. Still had a fantastic time.

Stopped in Bantry the first time we went to Ireland in 1978. We went to that hotel for a beer, something to eat and an early night as we were heading out the next morning. But whilst having a pint we heard some Deep Purple coming from the room next door, soon turned into a brilliant and a very late night with a long drunken stagger back to our camp site. The band were fantastic. I can't remember too much about the next day, it was a bit of a blur. Thanks for bringing back some great memories Richy. Big thumbs up for a great video.

@@RichyVida Yeah....the Cork boys like their Murphys. There's also another stout called Beamish. Safest bet is to ask the barman/lady what is drank most in the bar. Hope the weather picked up for ye. Looking forward to the next vid.

Wish I'd been paying attention and spotted that you were doing this. The Old Head of Kinsale is my home place. No 1 Atlantic way is my 1st cousin's house. I hope you stopped back up the hill at the Lusitania Museum and cafe, it's a small but interesting museum.

I think the weather is getting back at you after the previous glorious trip on the Wild Atlantic Way. Remember "Don't wipe the Hard Drive" this time. Enjoying the video's, go easy on the hard stuff.

After Episode 1, I thought you had arrived during our 2-3 week heat wave back in July when it was actually too warm to ride a bike on a few days!! But Episode 2 brought us back to reality! :-( That was awful rain and you cant enjoy yourself touring on a bike in those conditions as you have to concentrate even more on the roads and the scenery was obscured by the mist and rain. You did the right thing going to your accomodation and using better roads. I'm waiting for Episode 3 to see if the weather improved for the next stage of your trip - fingers crossed. Look us up if you are ever planning another trip to Ireland, around the East coast and midlands. Alan (Secretary, CRRG Dublin).

Always make sure to tight that rain cover really good! I have the same tank bag on my Africa Richy and last time I used the rain cover it got a bit loose and it scratched my tank!!! So now I am really pissed about it :(

Tough break on the weather mate, but everyone who tours knows you can’t plan for the weather. We’ve had to end a tour 2 days early because a hurricane was bearing down on us. Still, I’d rather be on tour than driving somewhere in a car. BTW, I’m still very much digging your photography! I’m amazed that you can capture such beautiful shots, especially given that some have looong exposure times. Cheers mate!

Hey Rich how are those TKC 80s performing in the wet? Was going to fit them to my old GSA but bottled it and put on TKC 70s largely because of the wet performance issues with knobblies!

As you saw on this one, no issues. You wouldn’t ride them hard in the wet - or I wouldn’t - but behave very well. Rear only lasted this trip, tho.

I never have, Mark. You can easily piece together a very close route though, with our visited POI’s, and locations etc 👍

@@RichyVida 😉 sometimes it's the setting .when we group ride the leader is does the navigation it makes it much easier .Garmin,TomTom,calimoto,Google and every one is saying something different .Once the leader changes they then control the route as the end point is the same.👍 The roads in Ireland are very quiet.Did Nc500 a few years ago it was busy to busy .😱

We had great wether all week , to hot if any thing Was like 8 years ago . We did the whole of Ireland the northwest is best , the roads in the south are awfully surfaced and only had one good hotel , in Dublin that my irish family sorted for us (4 ov us) Beautiful country , not the best for a bike tour m8

Disagree there, Chris! We had a mega tour a couple years ago, and this one also delivered the goods. Stunning scenery. I guess bike genre could dictate the tour/experience, too.

@@RichyVida yes may be a R1 and slow roads not a good mix , but it wasn't the rideing that spoiled it was more the acomadation stuff ect . Im born in England, Irish family so had plenty of knowledge ect of where to go ect BTW half the big new houses you see are victims of 2008 and are empty, half built or abandoned to the banks , lot worse in the south ...boom then bust !!

There was a boom, then a brief bust that lasted about 4 years and since then the economy and the housing market has been booming again. If there are any empty houses they're holiday homes!! Quite common that they would not be occupied all year round down the rural parts.
