Wild Strawberries (1957) Analysis | Ingmar Bergman

Фильм және анимация

Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries (Smultronstället) is about staring a treacherous Past in the face, to find closure in the face of Death. This paves the way for Deja Vus and Flashbacks done in several different ways, manipulating time and space to give poetic grandeur.

Thanks for your effort. Much appreciated . I do think that you highlighted the main plot with great skills of observations, and profound wisdom. Just one thing I was reflecting about : The short stop were Isac met his mother suggest a deep frozen relationship that has gone on for life. In turn also the making of the person Isac. Cold, controlled, distant,a stranger to himself and a stranger to this world but a successful professional. A product of his time, as almost all deeply conservative protestant back in the days raised their children with least possible affections because it was the norm to make them ´strong´and resilient. In my opinion the good doctor finally saw a ray of light presented by Marianne´s (Ingrid Thulin) brutually honest description of Isacs character , maybe the first ever he received from someone he knew well and also close to him. ...And then his journey to catharsis began from there.
