«Wild Ducks»: how partisans hindered Russian advance in Kyiv region and operated behind enemy lines
The «Wild Ducks» detachment began to operate in the Kyiv region from the first days of the war. According to them, the fighters organized as soon as the occupiers reached the town of Makariv, located 30 km from Kyiv.
The unit included those who already had combat experience or served in special forces. The «Wild Ducks» did not immediately enter the battle in Makariv: the first enemy column was let through the settlement so as not to endanger the local population. In addition, they did not have anti-tank weapons for combat at the initial stage.
Thus the unit found itself (and began to operate) behind the enemy lines. In particular, the fighters reported the movement of Russian columns to the Armed Forces of Ukraine: they saw Russians from a minimum distance. And thanks to good knowledge of the area, they could approach enemy positions closely.
«Wild Ducks» held its first fight on the outskirts of Makariv. At first, the occupiers' camp was shelled by artillery. Then Joint forces advanced, including the «Wild Ducks», destroying the military personnel and enemy military hardware. The burnt cars are still lying there. In the background of that battle, the fighters talk about their warpath and their enemies' actions.
Among all the other things, «Wild Ducks» fighters complain that the aggressors chaotically fired civilians while evacuating in columns. In particular, they remember how on the outskirts of Makariv, at the crossroad, a Russian APV shot a civilian car with a couple of older people. And in the settlements, the occupiers raped women and tortured men. Because of such cases, the «Wild Ducks» call this blood war and promise to fight until victory. The soldiers call reclaiming the occupied and annexed territories and restoring Ukraine's territorial integrity a victory.

Propaganda techniques are all too common and it is only naive and gullible people that will only believe what they see. You expect literate people to believe Ukraine has not suffered badly either? After all they are losing right? Ukraine does not command respect and deserves contempt. I do not know why the young fight? Corruption is endemic in Ukraine. They are fighting for the rich. "Wild Ducks" I love the name they took for their unit. These units especially the Territorial Defense units are an inspiration even for similar groups who hope they never have to use their skills, but are ready if needed.

Ukrainian soldier to Ukrainian civilians: "You don't have to die for Ukraine. You have to live for Ukraine", hinting that he and his fellow soldiers fight and die so that Ukrainian civilians can live. Such valor moves my very soul. It also lays blame on the Ukrainians that it is their fault for what is happening. They allowed their politicians to listen to NATO and the USA and rub salt into Russia's concerns about it joining NATO. After all the Ukrainians did promise the Russians not to join NATO if Russia withdrew from Ukraine in 1991. The Ukrainians should have kept their politicians on a leash and not allow them to do whatever they liked.

The Ukrainian people could not keep their politicians on a leash because Ukrainian democracy was hi jacked by the US utilising the strong Nazi element. To oppose the Ukrainian politicians brought a violent tesponse. The three principles of democracy freedom and sovereignty so much touted by the lying West have long gone in Ukraine which is now the very reverse of all three.

I too agree and couldn't have said it any better except I notice as the civilians climb out of the Mariupol Steel works in sparkling clean clothes I knew in my Heart Ukraines Babushka's wouldn't allow their countryman to lose their dignity while in their huge Bomb Shelter ! Thanks !

@@juliusdream2683 The best way to protect your own country, whichever country that might be, is to make sure the current world order, based on rules and established international institutions, rather than military might, is kept alive and working. That, in turn, is best achieved if countries which do not stick to that order - like Russia, which broke several treaties it has signed during the last few years - are quickly put in place. That's why it is important for everyone in the world to make sure Ukraine wins. If Russia wins, we risk returning to the situation from a century ago, when large empires waged war against each other, most often on the territory of small countries situated between them - that was the history of Ukraine for a long while, but also for Poland, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia. It wasn't any better in Western Europe, where England fought France in Normandy, France fought Italy in Piedmont and Lombardy, Italy fought the Austrians in South Tyrol and Austria constantly sought to expand into Southern Germany and what's present day Switzerland. But that wasn't enough, for the European imperial powers - they exported war everywhere, from South-East Asia to Africa to both South and North America. Not even Australia or New Zealand were spared. _This_ is the real risk with this war in Ukraine. Several poor and undeveloped nations are sitting on the fence, waiting how things will turn out, which is why coordinated, worldwide actions against Russia are difficult. For developing or developed nations, a victory of Russia would be catastrophic - all that they have built will get destroyed again. Therefore, the best way to protect your own country, right now, is to help Ukraine defeat Russia, so that a new age of frequent and widespread waring does not befall humanity again.
