Got one. It's brilliant. It's a great tent. If anyone is thinking of buying one you won't be disappointed

yeah, the only problem is with avaibality.. :/
Hi there nice video ... bit late watching it ... but aside from double poling the rent ... the inner pole grommets raise the fly to increase airflow when weather is ok ... outter grommets lower fly to ground for more four season use. The pole guys are also worth one wrap around pole b4 pegging out
Nice video, i have the Helm 3. Good head height and spacious. Funny grouse!!!

Cheers, the 2 is pretty spacious to be fair but I see them as 1.5 man tent 🤣 and the grouse in Bowland will always try and wake you up 🙄
Haha my miss is definitely a full size one and it does us it's camping 😂 good vid I enjoyed it pal
I’m leaning towards getting this tent , love the review . 👍

I’ve used it a few times now and I’ve had no real issues with it and also not a lot of condensation either 👍
Great video ! If you've not learnt by now, you pull the poles out of the bottom first, so it all lays flat, then pull the poles out.

Cheers 👍 and welcome to the channel!
Great vid. Love this tent. Got it for Christmas. 3 wild camps in it so far. Attached the footprint with mini karabiners. All fits in the supplied bag. Normally only peg the 4 corners. Peg the guylines in blowy weather and wrap the lines round the poles a few times. The dynema pegging points are great for adjustment. Permanent mini karabiner on the lamp loop to fit my flex tail pump/light. Blue pole first. Been advised to put some gaffer tape on the sleeving where the poles cross, to stop any wearing.

You’ll have plenty of great Camps in that tent, I haven’t had any problems on my tent when it comes to the sleeving, I think that problem comes from the poles not being completely connected and possibly rips the material, enjoy your future wild camps and hopefully you have no problems 👌
Class video. Just subbed
Just discovered your channel. Nice to see a typical Lancashire “greyout” right from the beginning. FOB is also on my doorstep, our accents are the same and I see we’re both no strangers to Greggs so it’s like watching myself wild camping 20 years ago 😂. I’m current using the Scorpion 2 but I can’t sit up in it and I want something a bit more spacious but quick to drop in case of getting moved on. This looks ideal until I can eventually justify getting a Scarp 1. Subbed. ATB

From the use I’ve had out of it so far, I’d have to say I do recommend it. I was out in the Lakes last night with some subzero temperatures and I didn’t feel the cold as much as in other tents 🥶

Yeah I’m looking forward to using it, I’m pretty sure it’ll be great so let’s see!
Thanks for a great 'live' review Leo. I've been pulling my hair out trying to decide for weeks between the Helm 1 or 2 and having watched this earlier this afternoon I have literally just purchased the 2 with footprint. I'll be using it on Dartmoor through all the seasons. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures! ATVB Graham

I think the 1 can take more of a beating but I can’t see myself going out in storms camping so I choose space over “bomb proofness” but I reckon it will still be pretty good in adverse conditions! But you should have a good time camping in your helm so enjoy 👌

Have you ever seen the what looks like a mine air vent on Fair Snape? I forget exactly where it is but I think it was in the heather NE of the trig and on the top of the plateau. I've never found any references to any mine in the hill.

I can say I have, but next time I’m up there I will definitely keep an eye out for one, thanks for watching 👌
Good tent! is there possible to use double poles for strength ? Regards, Florin
@LeoManAndMountain
Жыл бұрын
I would think it is possible, and there’s enough room in the sleeve for it 👍
Hey. I have the cloud peak 2. Would you recommend getting this over the cloud? Looking for my next tent but wouldn't want anything much smaller than the CP2
@LeoManAndMountain
10 ай бұрын
I would say it’s a better tent, although there is a little less room than the Cloud Peak but I would still say the helm is an upgrade
How're you getting on with the groundsheet being permanently attached to the tent? Thinking of doing this myself - have you found any problems so far?
@LeoManAndMountain
Жыл бұрын
So there are little clips between the inner and outer tent on four of the corners I just popped the bungee cord into the clip and it keeps it in nicely for packing up and rolling out, I’ve found the tent pretty good so far pretty sturdy and doesn’t flap too much so haven’t found many faults, yet….. 🤣

Yes it’s a great tent, but if the weather isn’t great and it’s very windy then I would take the helm 👍
Great review, thank you. It was so nice to see you inflate your mat with a pump, It always make me shudder when some blow them up by mouth, the thought of all that mould and bacteria building up inside the mat. 🤢
@LeoManAndMountain
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I just use the pump, like you say mould and stuff can build up and it affects the thermal efficiency of the mat and that wouldn’t be ideal in the winter 🤣
When you say the skirt is close to the floor, do you mean the ground ?

@@LeoManAndMountain Why do the English call the ground the floor?
@LeoManAndMountain

@leonardmcdermott7703 haha we’re a funny people, some places will some places won’t depends where you are in England (I’m from the better part(the north))
is the footprint a necessity you think?
@LeoManAndMountain
2 ай бұрын
I would say that from experience with tents that don’t have it, it (kind of) is, a footprint is good for preventing anything from puncturing the bottom of the tent as they are thicker than the inner tent floor and also provides some peace of mind when it comes to my air mat not getting a puncture either
