Wild Camping with wild goats on the Scottish Border, Cheviot Hills, Northumberland
I needed a night under the stars again so we headed for the Cheviot Hills
We headed up from the Coquet Valley to the romantic ruined cottage of Yearning Hall and then onto
the mountain refuge hut on the Anglo-Scottish border
Huge thanks to Kris Cameron for the shout out

Thanks Mark, the Cheviots are so full of history is hard not to stumble upon something of the past and I always feel it deepens the connection with an area to think about how folk lived there before, ATB, Graham 👍
Your beer reviews are always a treat 😆

Aye mate, you’re spot on about that still, it’s up there somewhere. I’ve heard it’s covered in bracken most of the year so I plan to hunt for it in the winter. Cheers marra 👍👍
Isnt it just a fantastic place that graham. Your tent looks great. Is that the new one ?. Beautiful sunset. Loved the drone footage. Thank you so much for the mention. The beetroot burgers looked nice but i think id have to add a 1/4 pounder too 😂 . I think youre right that the cheviot hills in LA was named by a northumbrian. You often have crazy camp dreams im sure youve mentioned in previous videos. Another cracking video. Thanks for sharing 😊

Hi Emma, yes that's the new tent, the fjern gokotta, I'm quite getting along with it, seems to suit my way of camping. Thanks for confirming about the Cheviot Hills in LA, that's crazy to think about. I think I enjoy those whacked out dreams nearly as much as the camping 😂 All the best Emz, Graham 👍👍

@eamonmcginty1183 I’d like to but I can only manage to get out infrequently, what with family and shift work. I won’t be out for a while. College valley or Harthope valley are always good shouts 👍

Thanks Simon, that's kind of you to say. The radio shout out was quite accidental, I just happened to meet a radio presenter in a Scottish Bothy - nice coincidence. ATB, Graham 👍
I’d love to get up there for a camp lads, you’ve had a canny break in the weather. The beetroot would go well with steak, Like for me. They reminded me of my mothers foray into veggie dishes bless her, we called them thunder bum cutlets 😂😂

You’d love it up there Nick, smashing little place- you were a miss that night! ‘Thunder bum cutlets’ haha, I love that 😂😂
I used to know that area of The Cheviots like the back of my hand when I was younger ... is there still a Log Book for visitors to record us of the Hut ? One of my favourite day walks Blindburn Car Park ... Over Deel's Hill to join PW ... follow PW to Refuge Hut ... return via Yearning Hall .

I know that walk well, hiked it many times- one of my favourites as well, I sometimes did a short detour to Chew Green. So much history and interest on that hike. Yes, there is still a visitors book in the hut and appears quite well used, it is on the PW after all, I suppose. Thank you for watching, much appreciated, ATB, Graham 👍
Great to meet you both Graham and looking forward to more content on your channel!

Thanks for another great video Graham. My better half buys them burgers from Lidl because she’s a part time veggie. I think they’re ok tbh. My dog has dragged me in that pub a couple of times but he won’t settle so I end up necking my beer and taking him back home. That looks like a nice spot, I’ve only wild camped at Langlee Craggs so far but I’ll put this spot on my wish list. Thanks 👍

Spot on! Yes I got those are burgers from Lidl’s- they’re not too bad! I’ve tried taking my dog to that pub as well but he’s too excitable, so I leave the daft sod at home now. Langlee Crags is a great spot and I’ve had a good camp on the nearby Housey Crags too. ATB and thanks for watching, Graham 👍👍
one of my favourite pitches Graham 👍 one of my favourite superfoods beetroot. you definitely need your taste buds looking at 🤣🤣

Aye, it's a cracking pitch alright, amazing place to spend the night. I do like beetroot honestly 😂😂Can't 'beet' a glass of juice in the morning or in a ham sandwich. Thanks for watching mate, ATB 👍👍
Great camp, awful burgers. 🤮 flapjacks looked nice though.
@grahamswildcamping
16 күн бұрын
Thank you, you won’t find any argument from me that the flapjacks beat the burgers- especially as my wife made them 😂 I’ll have to ask her to make some more, Cheers, Graham 👍👍
Hi Graham Nice camp, I quite like the look of the burgers, bit busy for me around these huts, so much for you and Shaun having a quiet camp ! Mind you have to say, That hut sits in such a nice place and with a nice walk from the car park, see you soon Adrian

Hi Adrian, it was quite the co-incidence to meet those lads up there who had been watching one of my previous videos on the place. They were all good folk like. It's quite a remote area but I suppose the attraction of a bit of shelter from the hut draws folk. I think you'd love it up there- great views 👍👍
