The Cheviot Hills are an inspiring place, they may not be as dramatic as the Scottish Highlands or Lakeland Fells but have a unique charactor all to their own, rich in history and events. They say genes have memory and of all the places I've wandered, the Cheviot Hills feels like my home, the music was very fitting, ATB. Damian.

Northumberland is perhaps the most beautiful place I know. It is far from being the prettiest, but it's built of bone and sinew, and has a heart like nowhere else.

It was good to read that this place is not visited much by tourists or many people...It will be nice to see this area you call home..I've read the comment that genes don't forget where home is... I can hardly wait to see which area feels that way to me!! I told Ralf to be ready to see me with "happy tears" every time I see a new place!! Those shots you got are really spectacular !!! I hope you and Ann are doing well...I can't wait to meet her too....:).....Take care of that shoulder...ATB Maria

+bamamaria Thank you Maria. Yes you have so many places to see over here and I know all you see you will love and I'm sure the bond you have to Scotland will become very real and you will know you have found the place you belong. We are both very well thank you despite this being a difficult year. Funnily enough my shoulder seems better after hauling a heavy pack around lol so maybe that is the answer , more camps : ) Take care. Mick.

It was great to see you again you really were scared of the bull i thought i was scared until i watched this video lol Great to meet with every one and i am looking forward to going for another walk up there soon and i like your idea of Carterbar if you think my wee legs will make it Take care Gillian

+The Wee Leggies Camper Thank you Gillian yep was scared s***less haha and gave them a wide berth. The Carterbar trip would be 6/7 miles a day so doable but the main problem would be the terrain , we would lose the decent path when we left The Pennine Way. Hopefully it will happen early next year so plenty time to think about it. Atb. Mick
