Thank you for caring for him when no one else would.

Anyone ever considered that this is exactly how humans domesticated animals in the first place? A majority of humans won't just walk past an injured or dying animal and do nothing, and this is a WILD boar, they can really be quite intimidating and do serious damage and yet after Paxton was nursed to health, he was completely adjusted to human presence and sought human touch, extremely rare in a wild animal. Super cool to see it happen, wild turned fur child.

Its also interesting to think that, in captivity they naturaly stop growing their tusks as they dont need to hunt for food, the opposite is also true for captive pigs that manage to get into the wild.

I don't think it really mattered what she said to him, because he doesn't understand human speech. He was obviously bitten by a snake and the venom had his ankle swollen and he was unable to stand or walk. It's good that she fed him because he wasn't able to forage for himself. Pretty amazing that the vet didn't recognize what was going on.

Sometimes showing compassion to an animal is all that it takes.

Who knew I would ever fall for a wild boar?!?!? He just melts your heart and makes you realize that he is just another sweet baby that deserves love and care. That is so generous of this sanctuary to give him a haven.

What a story. If all leaders of this world had such heart and care, we would never have wars.

Paxton is living the good life that he deserves. Bless that woman and the people who saved him and healed him.

The pathetic jerk who injured him was probably part of the "mighty" hunters who take guns to shoot these animals they are AFRAID of! Think of that when you're told by someone they've shot a wild animal. You'll find they were actually afraid of that animal. Simply PATHETIC. @@diananutt1517 Wild boars are not Native to North America, judging by the woman's voice, I doubt she found this boar in Europe or Asia. Wild boars are an intensely invasive species which seriously destroy natural habitats for native wildlife, destroy crops, even harm livestock. The only two purposes for shooting a boar would be for food or for the sake of wildlife preservation. Either way, this boar was not shot for the sake of causing suffering nor because someone was "afraid". Either way, putting the boar down would've been the right thing to do, but as long as it's not out in the wild it doesn't make much of a difference.

The woman who found him, nursed him and didn't give up on him is amazing. God bless her kindness and everyone else who helped Paxton recover.

Exactly. Any animal has the tendency to be more aggressive when hurt. The fact that she was willing to help a large injured animal, let alone a boar who has horrifying teeth and smells that would scare most people and animals, is amazing. If some sort of municipal animal authority got involved, they would probably have executed it. People like her illuminate this world during v dark times, and make it a happy place: especially for Paxton.

The first girl is totally amazing. That's where that wild boy became people ok. He knew she safed him. Totally a great group of folks. Thxs to the rescue people, big boy has a forever safe home. 🐾🌹.

I once lived in a foster care placement on a smallholding with a llama, a cow, horses, ducks, chickens, a greyhound, a black lab and a pot bellied pig, and 21 great Danes. It was truly brilliant! Cared more about them animals than my foster parents. Animals are life 😊❤❤

a lot of places view wild boars as a nuisance at best or an invasive species at worst. They can be destructive and chase away other animals from a healthy ecosystem so a lot of places have kill orders put in place to keep their population from getting out of control

It’s probably because wild hogs tend to be incredibly invasive and harmful to the environment. Unfortunate as it may be.

Wow you could hardly tell how dire the situation had BEEN until you see him standing AFTER being fed well for multiple weeks that you can see how emaciated he had become. Like once gravity is acting on the muscles and he is upright, you can see how skinny he was, poor guy. His belly is so small and you can see his frame underneath. The woman that rescued him and showed SUCH incredible dedication really did save him from the brink. What an amazing job, everyone involved. 👏🏽✨👍🏽❤️

imagine the gratitude in the heart of a being receiving such help, even though he can't express it or perhaps consciously recognize it. i recently went through a period of intensely painful, near-death illness and got so much help from my mom (groceries, clean clothes, medicine, etc). every time i woke up, i was thanking heaven for every one of her efforts. just to know how valuable such help is, is wildly profound. it would be so ugly to not be infinitely grateful. understanding the seriousness of dire situations makes me sure that i should try my best to pay it forward, in whatever way i can, to help those who are suffering in whatever kind of seriously less fortunate place, without giving so much attention to my miserly side...

HE knew that we would feel immense and irreparable loneliness and loss without the company, and yes at times companionship of sharing this beautiful planet He created. Animals are a gift from God our Father. HE never intended us to be cruel and feel entitled to harm other living creatures. God even takes note when a sparrow dies. TS Elliot wrote a poem about the nobility of animals, particularly birds. I never saw a bird feel sorry for itself,. It will fall, dead frozen to the ground, And not once felt sorry for itself.

Yep... Many years ago, my step uncle had one breach a fence on his land. Farms and woods nearby. He was out walking towards his mail box..on his dirt driveway.... Heard grunting behind him...and turned in time to see a huge boar coming at him from the side field. He had his knife...and he had to kill it. He was upset about that. Said it weighed near 300 pounds.

Their Native Habitats are in Europe and Asia, judging by "alohaanimalsanctuary" at the end of the video, I'm assuming this is in the Hawaiian Islands, where feral pigs are an invasive species and cause habitat destruction. I doubt it was even a hunter that caused this pig's injury, it would most likely have been done with a bow or rifle, seemed like a broken leg to me. Most hunters don't kill for no reason, food and wildlife preservation are the two main reasons for hunting, and if someone doesn't slot into one of those categories then they're probably poachers.

If you were really a hunter or had anything to do with harvesting game, you would know what I said in posts to others on this story, that wild boars are vermin and pests and cause over 2 billion dollars and damage to farmers and others each year. So your so-called compassion clearly isn't for them. And if you were telling the truth you would also know that it's possibly illegal to do what this person did.

Because they're usually very dangerous animals. This one just must have been done living, it's really unusual for a wild boar to be docile.

It restores my faith in humanity to see people, like Andria, who give their time and effort to those in need out of the goodness of their heart. Comforting an animal that appeared to be dying was very kind. But she actually saved his life too!

Both the Young Woman who took that Pivotal 1st week, to Show Love, & care... & the Young Woman who has that Heaven for Animals, & Boldly said Yes, when so many 'So & So's' refused to even help. I remember an episode of an old tv show I *loved* as a kid (World’s Most Incredible Animals Rescues), as a kid with Asperger’s I would rewatch my favourite shows again and again and this was one of them. One of the segments was about a pot-bellied pig named Petunia who saved her family from a house-fire by breaking the bedroom door open then waking them up. I never forgot what an animal expert in that part said “Pigs are fourth in the line of intelligence: humans, apes, dolphins and pigs”. Bless this lil’ porker for the rest of his piggy life, his rescuer and all the other kind people who helped him heal 💙🐱💙

Exactly, and people tell me all the time it’s fine to eat these animals their mean anyway. Screw that! They’re extremely intelligent, sweet animals who deserve to live.

I adore the woman caring for Paxton toward the end. She is so positive and loving. She makes me smile.

This is the epitome of compassion.

I think I’ve seen humans befriend pretty much every animal on the planet. And it’s so wonderful to see.

You are truly a remarkable person with patience of a Saint. Paxton would never have known to be forgiving, calm, touched or loved had it not been for you, and his injury. His will to live was given to him by this stranger. Such a great story.

Awesome story. Thank so much for your kind heart. His life matters and you saved him. Sweet, gentle fella.

I'm not a vegan or animal right activist. I just love animals and appreciate when folks just do the right thing. I really wish more people would open their heart right now and try to realize all living creatures are conscious souls.

I am the same as you n wish the same! I have 8 mini pigs, 2 dogs, 1 cat, & a 41 yr old African Grey Parrot, & I would move heaven n earth for them! Keep the faith & God bless that lady who spent a week saving such a gentle animal!

I adore all types of pigs. They are all so intelligent. The lady who stayed with him for a week is a saint. You saved his life in more ways that one. Thank you!

Absolutely stunning. With all the feel-good stories I’ve heard over the decades, this one takes the cake. I feel like I could cry for a week with how meaningful this is. Thank you to the beautiful humans, to beautiful Paxton, and to those who showed us this incredibly beautiful story.

All animals deserve kindness in their time of need. This woman, and her heart is admirable and something we should all strive to be. Paxton is a beautiful wild boar, and it's so satisfying to see him big, chunky, happy, and sweet. Also a quick history lesson. Wild boars are hardy, strong willed, fierce, intelligent, and wonderful animals. Many cultures of antiquity and even up until now from all around the world, have respected and deified the wild boar; since the dawn of civilization. I've never been more proud to have my family name, it is Gaelic for wild boar.

@Hugh Jarse LOL!! They're not fangs. They're tusks. And no, they're not razor sharp either. The boar can bite hard, that's the defense. Do you spend any time at all in nature? You really should. And if you watched the video at all, you'd see that the wild boar was turned gentle by the kindness of the woman who saved him.

Grateful for the angel that saved him, and the vet and sanctuary that helped. What a heart warming story ❤ An antidote to chaos and pain. Gentleness and unconditional love.

This shows how intelligent and empathetic pigs are. Paxton knew these souls were looking out for him and he entrusted his life with them. Even though he was never treated kindly by people before. He just knew. ❤️

@@biggesthaterontheinternet And voracious. Endangered sea turtles, prairie chickens, milkweed are all consumed and would be wiped out without human intervention. The Dodo needs to do a better job of educating others that feral animals are extremely destructive.

This is SO sweet!! Just showed kindness made him want to live. SO SWEET. I smiled so big when I saw him stand up for the first time again. ^_^ He's now WAY fatter than his wild boar cousins lol. Living the life

I really loved the beautiful final comments. Important words for us all. Life is hard. So is being forgiving and accepting. But it is worth it in the end to not become bitter. Thank you, Dodo, Paxton, and his saviors.
