Wild '68 Plymouth Road Runner Keith Black 572 HEMI
This 1968 Plymouth Road Runner fitted with Keith Black 572 HEMI powerplant is one wild 887 horsepower bird.
George was introduced to this 1968 Plymouth Road Runner when he was still in high school. The Mopar changed hands few times and it ended up with him in 1992. Obviously not with the 572 HEMI in it.
The 1968 Plymouth Road Runner came with 3 engines, 2 four speed trannys and Dana 60. It now packs a Keith Black 572 HEMI dynoed at 751hp at 5,300rpm and 887hp at 7,000rpm controlled by built 727 and 3.73 geared Dana 60.
George never missed a chance to demonstrate the Keith Black 572 HEMI potential by doing awesome burnouts during the last 30 years, but he did not race the 1968 Plymouth Road Runner too much lately.

Probably the hottest street car I had a chance to feature. One clean and mean HEMI Bird
OOOOOHHHHH THAT SOUND! I had a 68 Dodge Dart GTS with a 440 that had 2" fender well headers and a nasty solid cam that sounded very similar at idle. but it didn't make nearly as much power. It sure had a thumpy idle though! You have a beautiful car, looks and sounds amazing! Thanks for sharing!
68 and 69 Roadrunners are my favorite Mopars!

I remember My cousins boss had a 4spd hemi road runner the same time my brother had a 440 6 pak auto Challenger racing around Peoria summer of 71. Best memories ever. Neck and neck zero to 130 and back again, God i miss that.
Awesome. When too much power is not enough! Very impressive.

One hell of a bird 💪 thanks for checking it out
$2,600 in 1992 was a steal. A buddy paid $10,000 for a beat 68 Z28 in 78, after paying $2,700 for a new one 10 years before. "Should have kept it,." He got peanuts for it on a dog of a 69 Corvette.

I just love your car thanks for a wonderful video. I have a 1966 barracuda formula s it's stock easy four speed 8 3/4 rear. I won't peel out and it because I don't want nothing to go wrong my brother's laugh at me so it was friends. I said I don't care I baby my cards even if they're fast or whatever I just baby them now I'm 62 I even baby it even more. 😂😂😂😂😂 Your car sounds beautiful who needs a radio and have a car that sounds like yours beautiful drag race nice. I know I talk a lot but here's a quick story you know how I was really good friends with I'm sure you know him Bill Maverick golden Little Red wagon I used to pull that little red wagon to the start line Maple Grove and I squirt that stuff I don't know what it's called I forgot either or whatever it was and that squirting a thing here I don't know I don't remember but it was me we used to go to lunch all the time. He would come into Pennsylvania and go to tamaqua at my other buddies house and keep it the Little Red wagon there and stuff because he was going to englishtown over the weekend race it was cool he was a good guy.

Thank you sir. There will be more old school muscle coming. We have couple of cool Mopars coming up next.
$2,500 in 1992 is an exceptionally low price. That's about a mid/late 1980s price, what you would pay for an original Hemi car with some rust in the rockers and rear quarters. It's definitely possible, just pointing the crazy cars I've seen bought and sold as a kid.

I was going to make that comment about the 69 grill but lo and behold, you beat me to it! Back in the 70’s a buddy had a 69 Hemi Super Bee with a 68 front clip on it. I think they both were wrecked and they were fixed with what parts were available.
