Exactly had feeling more they went into the life of Wilbur he had already gone to Rainbow Bridge in Heaven certain wen Saint Peter booked him in to the pet sanctuary he had past friends and siblings meeting him at Heaven's Golden Gate as well as next door in Heaven his human relatives and friends that have passed on be there showing him ropes and spoil him rotten. Wilbur is no doubt making light work of Kitty Race track that God made for energetic one's that really loved Zoomies he probably having race with my late mother's late cat who was part Siamese round the track she was nearly 21 years old Dementia took her in end lived very healthy awesome happy life despite being dumped in skip we got her as Rescue cat at 8 years old we didn't pick her SHE picked us to be her new mummy she loved telling her huge big stories, slapping her toyboy if he turned up late for there nightly Shenanigans she also did same screeching yowling I was told it was just the cats way of getting her point across if ignored it getting louder and louder until your paid attention to her. She was beautiful cat like humans you respect them give them love dignity and really good Wholesome food not rubbish that's designed for them that's worse than skid row she always loved her Applaws and fresh fish Scraps from fishmonger. Anyway rest in beautiful harmony big boy I no your mummy and daddy and Human and or fur siblings will be absolutely devastated, distraught and totally heartbroken but for him to live 23 years as runt of the litter what ever your did like with us with our cat it worked and helped them live awesome contented beyond fulfilling happy loving life but please remember he's always in your hearts and in Spirit world no doubt pop in to give use all Cuddle and annoy use all take your time to grieve never ever ever let anyone tell you get over it you all take time it needs to ponder over the loss, don't feel embarrassed wen in the shops and accidently buy his favourite toys, food etc we all do it after all we are humans talk to him continue to tell him how everyone's day been how much he so badly missed. I said Prayer to all those that have recently deceased human and animal your journey may of ended big boy but a new life is waiting for you in Heaven rest in peace gorgeous boy run free and have loads fun with all your new friends and your friends you knew very well

God damn it! I just wanted to watch a nice kittley video that the KZread algorithm shoved at me. This video made me fall in love with a cat called Wilbur and then told me he died! Yes he lived a long and happy life. Yes he was loved and loving. Yes it was all so very sweet. But I just wan’t ready for that and, GOD DAMN IT, they made me cry! . . . RIP Wilbur, playing with mic covers and red noses in the veterinary waiting room in the sky. 🥺🥹

Sounds like my Archie who passed in June this year. He was our greeter, so intelligent, verbal - and a klepto! I'd catch him red handed with my watch hanging out of his mouth coming down the stairs. LOL - he kept us laughing. When he passed, we were devastated - still are. We miss his wonderful personality, love and most of all - his humor. He knew which bone went to which dog and would drop them at their feet. For days after Archie passed, the dogs were looking for him relentlessly - it broke my heart.

One thing I realized as I watched this tribute to Wilbur, the loving, kind & very interesting cat, is that I meet the nicest, kindest, loving & interesting people who are related to said cats. This is certainly true today w/ Wilbur. I enjoyed every minute of Wilber’s activities, the things he like to do, his funny habits, & how much he loved his family & let them know it, whether it was a convenient time for others or not. Now Wilbur will have a special place in my heart w/ all the ginger male cats I have loved & lived w/ since I was 3 years old when I was given my first one. I named him “Teddy” since I was wild about my Teddy Bear 6:45 & as consequence loved bears on principle as well. Since Teddy turned out to be such a perfect name for my first cat who lived until I was in college. So naturally all of my cats have been ginger males & each one subsequently was named “Teddy” in honor of all of the ones who came before. That was until 6 years ago when someone visiting a neighbor met my Teddy & feel in love w/ him. When visitor left to go home, my Teddy, who always came straight home after his visit to my neighbor to kiss her Goodnight, was never seen again. All attempts to retrieve or rescue Teddy came to naught. The man refused to even admit he’d taken my pet even though when either my neighbor or myself called the man who represented the Aging Services outreach program for us & both of us could hear Teddy talking in the background the whole time we were on the man’s phone. But I was not alone long, although I will always miss Teddy for ever. One night during a wild lightening storm my doorbell rang at 2:00 am. When I opened the door, two soaking wet, very excited neighbor boys were standing there holding a soaked, pale blond, younger version of Teddy, “Dr. Nancy, Dr. Nancy…, Look, we found Teddy for you!” They were so excited & pleased w/ themselves & w/ the cat they’d found for me. Well, after informing them that the cat was not Teddy & seeing their excitement turn to disappointment & sadness, I couldn’t let them or the poor cat down. I waited a minute, $ then said. “But you know what? Since Teddy went away, I have really needed another cat. I’ce been thinking about going to the Animal Shelter & seeing if there was a cat for me there. But seeing you two have brought me this handsome, healthy looking cat boy, I think I’ll take him from you right now & adopt him here & now. Would that be okay?” They were back to excited & very pleased & the cat looked at least okay w/ the idea since I’d wrapped him in a towel & had been gently drying his wet fur w/ a towel since he’d arrived. And as they say in the movies, the rest is history! I named him “Otis” & he is the most friendly & loving cat I’ve met. Just what an old lady living alone needs as she was turning 70 & was developing some worrisome health problems. Otis & I are each other’s best friend & sleep cuddled up together at night & spend our days close in each each others company most all of the time. Since he loves people & talks a lot like I do, when the doorbell rings he run to the front door & talks to who ever is there until I get there & open the door. We have both gained weight since we met & we keep deciding to start walking every day. And we do….at least for a few days. Then we’re back on my bed where I listen to audio books on my phone. And oddly enough, my phone has a habit of disappearing when ever I get up to do something & leave it on my bed. Since I’m a little absented minded, I hunt around for that phone until I realizing that someone sitting on the bed is watching me carefully. And yes, when I check underneath Otis, there is my phone right underneath his body & fluffed out fur! “Just Keeping it Warm for you, Mom!” And I thank him for his thoughtfulness, as I snuggle up next to him on the bed! Thank you for sharing Wilber w/ all of us. I know I will think of him now & then, & I’ll smile at the memory as I will as I remember his dear family!

Looks like he had fun along the way on HIS terms. We currently have a male Maine Coon cross that was abused and returned to the SPCA twice. He was really scared of everything when we got him but several years later he is a massive happy cat. He has a yard to hunt in which he absolutely loves to do and will come and beg us to pet him or groom. We have a bunch of different brushes for him and he will pick the one he wants to use. He has the sweetest trills and never demands anything. Damned smart for a cat I must say and he has been teaching us his language for years now. He communicates very well. The term "Gentle Giant" is so very appropriate. He is the sweetest boy and has the most glorious tail. Even though we spoil him he does not behave like a spoiled cat. Such a sweetie. We are soo happy to have him in our lives. We are so fortunate. We hope he lives for a VERY long time. He is not a pet, he is family. Oddly he hunts the backyard as there are LOTS of mice there but he stays in the yard. He could get out easily but he stays in the yard. He comes in to eat or use the kitty litter.

What a wonderful cat. I had a ginger girl for many years. …After she passed away we buried her in the backyard. ….I waited for about 2 years for her to come back. It’s been a decade now, and I still miss her very much. Wilbur was obviously very loved and you can be content that you provided him a great, long and wonderful life. 5 stars for you and for Wilbur.

So true. I have had two cats, both screwballs, and they chose me as their mom. My first cat was a female named Bonnie Bleu. She was such a crazy cat. She ate everything in site just like a dog, jumped under the blankets, and talked to me constantly. My current sweetie is a male named Kimba. He is as funny to be around as Bonnie Bleu. He boxes me and wrestles my hands, knows all kinds of calls, and sits with me out in rhe patio without taking off. I love both of my furry love bugs equally. 🐈🐈‍⬛💞

Excellent video of a very special cat! A former Vet technician, I’m very sorry for your loss. People who truly love their pets feel they are important members of a family. Even with the pain of losing a pet, in this life, it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all. It’s never the same with a different animal because all cats are created unique but maybe someday you’ll be blessed to feel love again by adopting another family member eager to share their love with you. ❤

I will ALWAYS remember this beautiful story ❤ . And I hope it will remind me to take more videos and photos of my remaining cats. I’ve had so many over the years. My favorites have passed away…the last ones just a few months ago. But one that remains may become a new favorite so I should document their quirky moments. To me, Wilbur seems like the universal cat. He did everything that every cat does with the added bonus of being “ a dog in cat fur “ as my vet put it. I found a ginger male many years ago…didn’t want it because I only liked black and white or gray cats. Boy, was I wrong. That cat was so smart, and so much fun, like Wilbur. He talked and hummed in his sleep. Cats are the best ❤

That was very very sweet! So we had Jasper using range tabby like your Wilbur. We got Jasper at the pound and he he was our wonderful companion for 19 and a half years. He was so special and unique couldn't have been a sweeter guy! After he passed I took him up to my boss's property in Battle Ground Washington buried him on an embankment between two large Douglas fir trees overlooking Salmon Creek. He's been gone over 10 years now but I still see him everyday in a memorial that I have on our kitchen counter , it's a picture of him and a bit of his fur encased in resin on top of the same stones that are from the creek below his resting place. and think about him all the time .we have had a few cats since Jasper and now we have Oliver also an orange tabby and extremely unique . When I brush Oliver getting the undercoat off I roll it up into a ball and that started the furry ball sensation! Oliver chases the furry ball around and caterwauls Carrie sit in his mouth and he sits it down either in his food bowl or right next to it as if they are going to eat along with him. So in other words he goes nuts for his own fur rolled up in a ball and plays with them constantly bugging us every night before we go to bed to toss up all down the hallway for him.

He didn't realise how strong he was. He was the most loving cat, but ended up with cryptococcus and passed after he had been with us for only 2 years. Wilbur was wonderful. He reminds me of our first cat Bucky, years ago. He had a small toy dog that he carted around until it fell apart and he would make the same melancholy sound that Wilbur did. Unfortunately he would sometimes stand in the hall at 3am doing that. He could open doors by putting his paw under the bottom of it and rattle the door till it opened. His eccentricity lit up our lives for only 13 years. He still is greatly missed.

I plan to get two next time so they each have a playmate of the same species. You can tell you're a journalist because this story was told so beautifully. I would give anything to have had my Baby Girl for another 12 years. Thank you for sharing. P.S. That's her in my profile pic. That specific yowling is what most cat moms make when they deliver prey to their kittens. When the kittens hear that yowl they drop everything at once and race to their mom like there is no tomorrow. Because whoever comes first gets the toy ;-) A kitten playing with a mouse that mom just delivered is one of the most heartwarming things I have ever seen. Happiness in its purest form.

Crying and smiling here at the end of Wilbur's story. He was no mere cat. Wilbur was an angel - a traveler - a teacher - an old soul who had unfinished business. He still had love to give, and remained with your family longer than most cats. As he brought you his 'catch' and howled, he also left you his spirit. Carry it with you until each of you find that quiet place in which to disappear. You'll find him there, waiting for you. You story and tribute for Wilbur was as wonderful and sweet as any I have found. Thank you for sharing him with us. I love you all.
