Wii Fit Trial Edition (体験版) Demonstration - Previously Lost Media!

Wii Fit 体験版 (pronounced "Taikenban"), is a Japanese exclusive, trial/demo version of Wii Fit, dated over a half a year after the original release of Wii Fit in Japan.
Notably this demo features both a title screen, and title screen music, both things missing from the final versions of Wii Fit, and Wii Fit Plus.
As showcased in this video, the demo allows you to play a selection of minigames from the full release of Wii Fit, as well as doing a body measurement check.
Very little is known about the origin/purpose of this version of the game, with the best guess being its use for store demos of some variety.
Only 6 known copies of this version of Wii Fit exist, and for the last ~2 years @kiwidev_ and I have been on the lookout for any copies that happened to make their way to auction. Earlier this year we were able to secure a copy, allowing the world to see this piece of former Wii Series lost media in its entirety!

That’s the plan 😄 I’ve already been in touch with a few of the well known preservation groups, but admittedly it’d slipped my mind as of recent so thanks for the reminder haha. Do you have any information/theories on this release? Other than this (likely unrelated?) blog post, we’re not entirely sure about its origin: karu.blog.ss-blog.jp/2007-11-26?amp=1 Best guess is it’s just some kind of store demo, but I know you’re particularly knowledgeable on demos/betas so I wanted to hear your take!

Actually just through a random Japanese Twitter post. That was the first mention of the game on the entire internet as far as we know lol.
