Wiha Stubby Screwdriver bit magazine review 3802 (EDC tool)

Ғылым және технология

A quick look at the nice Stubby Wiha driver with bit magazine in its base.
Its super small and well made but be aware it seems not to like normal quarter inch bits. Also it needs one bit in the head due to space in the handle. those issues aside if you are looking for a very small stubby this works great and ive tried it on all the head types here and the bits dont look chewed up at all.
Id give this a 7.5 out of 10 as a stand alone but might try the wera stubby to see how that is.

I defiantly agree with you about the bit staying in the end, though if you look at is as you get to choose one to leave behind that you don't think you will use, I defiantly wouldn't carry it round with one in the end, its bound to get lost! I do love these little "Tom Thumb" as I've always known them as, super handy, always the same problem with the single sided vs double sided 1/4 bits, I don't think they are propriety drivers, its just how single vs double sided bits work, they are just different lengths. Because of how those bits work, I'd be interested in how it would be to use with the rear cap off, does the cap add structural support that's needed to really use it? Or is it super uncomfortable without it, because of the non-rounded edge is creates. Also another little nit picky thing I have is I hate torx bits, I think they are absolutely useless, but I love torx security bits! It seams like 2/3 of the time something uses a torx bolt it will be a security one, so I hate having any regular torx bits. Though they are my favourite bits to use, so much better grip, and less likely to round than anything else. It defiantly seams small and useful enough to leave in the glove box or centre console of the car so you always have something handy.

Yeah I know its nice to get more bits but I don't want one sticking out the end. What I've done today is carry it in my pocket but I took out the fattest hex head and put that in so its not sharp. Thanks for the info on the double sided bits I didn't know that mate this is the first double sider I have got, I usual always have the normal quarter inch drive heads. It definitely works with the tail cap off its solid enough even with a really strong grip. The one issue might be the central red plastic post as it sits slightly proud of the tail section so that might get irritating. I hear you on the torx thing I wonder if its easer and cheaper for them to make normal torx heads whereas a security torx head has to be better material so it wont snap. I'm lucky at work most of the torx I see are non security or bore hole type. Although I have a set of the wera hex plus and some torx Allen keys and they have a bore hole type torx on them so I can reach for that if I need them. But you make a good point, if they just made all torx heads security ones then we wouldn't have to worry. Maybe they cant stop them snapping if someone uses them in an impact driver or something, not sure. Cheers again for the info :-)

Hi mate will do some more tool stuff as I get them. I have a few Stanley tools and they have all lasted me years, good brand. What is the ratcheting type like? is it a fine toothed ratchet or not many teeth? I was going to get the Wera ratchet stubby but it was 3 times the cost for me. I might get on in the sales, I got this one on sale for just over 10 bucks so I think that's a great price for a German tool (although I notice they do contract out some of their production to Poland now,. *Poland make some fine tools* but I think they should make it clear where its made if you are expecting a German tool.) Have a great day mate :-)

when you are carrying it swap bits around so the Hex bit is in the head! no point 😇
