Steeped in Arizona history, the Wigwam is located 20 miles northwest of Phoenix in Maricopa County at 300 East Wigwam Blvd., Litchfield Park, AZ 85340. The development of Litchfield Park along with the Wigwam is intricately tied to the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
In 1916, Paul Weeks Litchfield, an executive of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company came to the area in search of farmers to grow a steady supply of cotton needed by Goodyear to strengthen their tires. Failing to entice local farmers, Litchfield got Goodyear to purchase 36,000 acres of the New River Valley and formed the Southwest Cotton Company to grow and supply the needed cotton. The purchase included 5,000 acres around the present site of Litchfield Park, which was named after the executive in 1964.
The original building named the Wigwam was built in 1918 to accommodate the executives of Goodyear who visited the cotton company of the New River Valley. The retreat grew in popularity and in 1929 was opened as a full-service resort with accommodations for 24 guests.
Celebrating 90 years as a resort the Wigwam has earned a AAA Four Diamond Resort and Historic Hotel of America designation. It’s 440 lushly landscaped acres provide the guests of it’s 331 spacious casitas and 72 suites, which include 2 Presidential Suites, a sanctuary only 25 minutes from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
The Wigwam has been recognized with Conde Nast Traveler’s 2019 Readers’ Choice Award as the #17 Resort in Southwest & Texas.
The Wigwam offers 30,000 square feet of meeting space along with 55,000 feet of outdoor event space.
As a wedding venue the Wigwam offers spectacular ballrooms as well as outdoor terraces featuring 8,000 blooming roses. The Wigwam wedding services include sunset ceremonies as well as moonlit receptions that can easily accommodate up to 500 guests.
As a sports resort, the Wigwam is unsurpassed. It is Arizona’s ONLY resort with 54 holes of championship golf with two courses designed by Robert Trent Jones. Wigwam Resort also pampers the tennis enthusiasts with nine lighted, paved tennis courts including one full size stadium court and full-service pro shop.
Guests at the Wigwam can enjoy the pampering of the LeMonds Aveda Salon - Spa, a 26,000 square foot sanctuary that features a full menu of beauty and relaxation experiences. Within the soothing sanctuary of the Spa is a private pool for guests.
After a full day, evening and night of fun, guests at the Wigwam enjoy a selection of rooms in a variety of sizes that feature modern amenities with a relaxing Arizona Adobe motif in soft muted earth tones that add to the relaxing ambiance of this one of a kind resort. Rooms and suites at the Wigwam Resort feature in room coffee service, cable TV, refrigerators, wireless cable and luxuriously appointed furnishings.

Events at the Wigwam include the monthly Wine Dinner Series featuring a four course dinner paired with a selection of wines. Guests are able to interact with the Chef and a representative from the featured winery. Tickets sell out fast.
The premier dining in a casual atmosphere that ties the history of the resort to its current place in the community happens at Litchfield’s. Chef de Cuisine Jason Paterno shares his culinary artistry across all the seating choices of Litchfield’s. Beginning with the wafting scents of blooming citrus and a pecan wood-stoked grill, the Chef sets the stage for his interactive dining experience as he shares his insights while preparing artistically creative delicious meals on a cooking fireplace. my mother Lila Lacey worked there as a hostess from the early 60s and was there till she retired in the early 80s.... she was the hostess with the mostess :)

We stayed in a similar property 3 times, on a in golf course in Tenerife, Wigwam looks fantasic and I look forward to staying at Wigwam. Now to start saving up.
