i was a regular at the pier, my mrs worked there from 1988 -1994 behind the bar or taking money on the tills at the front, was the best years of my life back then, the scene was fresh and something new... dave n phil hongkins you didnt mess with. the piano and the bass with the sound of people screaming c'mon!!!!!!!whats your name where you from what you had was all you needed to say to someone and you were best buddys... hotter than hell when it was rammers with condensation drippin from the roof. pity we have to get old but we have the music and the memorys.

the pier was my first ever night out on the mighty E's when I was 18 in 1991 what a place and era to get me introduced to the clubbing way of life sad day when it got knocked down the pier will always be still here in my memories

I was there in 91 Saturday night, loved every minute

What a club and I went to a few in my day. But Wigan was my fave. Loved those days so fucking free and a fantastic atmosphere . Anyone for a hug

This is a bangin mix. Still sends shivers down my spine when I hear these tunes. I used to dance next to the front right of stage every Saturday night and most Friday's. Excellent time of my life. Much respect to all the Pier Posse, I love you! 'Please don't go' at the end of the night and 'we are family' . Cried when I had to leave at 2am. Lol I had a wish once that I could rave forever till the end of time. It came true ❤️

I didn't live through that scene (I was a small child and in another country) but this is one of my favourite dj mixes...the first few minutes are pure magic. Those hip house raps work a lot better with that D-shake techno song compared to the original song, IMO. Didn't know anything about Wigan Pier previously but this made me find out a little bit. =)

the best time of my life and the Ezz wasnt cut with crap,they were proper white doves,all these reunions are wank,they will never create that vibe we used to get,when it got to thursday you was so buzzed up for friday at the pier,there will never be a feeling like it again

Sadly to me i never had the privilege. go the to the legendary Wigan Pier i arrived late on the rave scene this genre of rave hip house Italian dance music will never before forgotten in the North West back in the day.

agree with the below, wigan pier was great in 90/91, id moved on by the end of 91 to pastures new, but i had some great times in there end of 90 early 91...the rubbish that was donk wouldve killed any night club off!!!
