Wife Talk | low libido solutions, dealing with anger, date ideas

I feel raw. I let you guys in on this one. My intention for this is to support you in your marriages and maybe even to comfort you. It's okay to be hurting and angry, but let's get you out of that state. It's okay to have low libido, but there are ways to fix it! Marriage is an incredible gift, one where we can be 100% ourselves and mess up. But we will continue to work through it, grow and become stronger.

I struggle with the anger side of marriage. My husband is so gentle and sweet and I am like a hurricane of emotions. 😂 We’ve learned a lot, but I appreciated hearing that others struggle with anger and have learned to conquer parts of it. Thanks for this awesome video, Margaret!

I completely relate to the being “short and angry with your husband” aspect! I’m so glad someone has been able to put this feeling into words. I’m the same, I don’t mean to be but I feel like it also has to do with the sheer amount of time you spend around a partner. Thank you for reassuring me in not just a meanie. Xx

Love this! Love Lana. And so relate to this as someone who got married at 20. I find that when me and my husband disagree on something that feels really big fighting makes it worse but what helps is praying that God would work on both of our hearts! Freely Rooted is so good and the libido one I was listening to last week and it's soooo good. Love your content Margaret thanks for sharing may God bless your marriage and children ❤️

Thanks for sharing. Marriage is so hard and so beautiful. I love that you are honest about those moments of questioning and despair, but also that you made a covenant and you’re going to honor it. I have not heard anyone speak so honestly about the difficulties and the absolute commitment very often. I can relate! God has used marriage to mold us and show us His faithfulness.

Thank you for being brave and open on the internet. I related to A LOT. From the anger, wondering the same about how can I be so snappy and quick to explode with my husband and no one else, doing weekly check ins, and wondering if I married the right man in a dark moment of hurt. And we love the Lord! So many people make their relationships look perfect bc they think it’ll make them more holy. When everyone has something to walk out. Thank you for your honesty. You’re not alone!

As far as "how do you stay in love as much as you were in the beginning," I have to say that our wedding day was wonderful but it has definitely been one of the worst days of our marriage. Our marriage is So Much Better now (just celebrated our 5th anniversary). We know more about how blessed we are to have each other's specific strengths to help each other. Yes, we know more about our flaws, but we have so much comfort in the help that our spouse gives us for our own flaws that the flaws don't become the focus. The loving, kind heart behind the help--that becomes the focus. And I love his heart far more now than at the beginning.

Wow! I dont know how old you are but I am impressed that you know so much already about what a good marriage takes. Actually you are very blessed to have this wisdom. Christ centered is the most important part of a marriage because with Him, all things are possible. I just turned 53 and I am married to my high school sweet heart from 1986. We didnt get married until 1995. My journey has been long. I didnt find Jesus until 20 yrs ago and it has taken us a long time to get to this place. Much wisdom you share here. I will pray you are a light here and show the love of Jesus. I am sure you already are a help to those who come to your channel. You have a peaceful spirit about you. May God bless you and your family. 🙏

Marriage has been a lonely road and a recent car accident injury on top of the last couple years has left me feeling quite unlike myself. I’m always so tough on my other half and I know I do it I see myself do it but don’t know why. I think your husband is right in that they are our safe place to vent. I’ve learned through therapy that often if we look at a situation like that our anger stems from a different situation sometimes with someone completely different and if we think about why we are feeling a certain way we can often work out our feelings and deal with them before we take them out on our loved ones. Of course sometimes he’s just a pain in my butt and leaves clothes on the floor so it’s justified 😁 xx

It doesn't take a ton of skill and you don't have to be a mastermind, although there is a little strategy to the play. Check it out if you're looking for another game to add to what you currently have.

By praying for him. literally that's it. Prayer is the most powerful thing I've done to support my husband and it WORKS. God always answers our prayers, most of the time, not in the way we're expecting, but he's always working with and for us.

Do you have any advice for how to naturally balance your hormones postpartum? My baby is 16 months old, I’m still nursing at night, & I thought I’d feel better by now, but I just don’t feel like myself. I’m a short fuse, especially with my husband. I nitpick, I worry, & I’ve never had worse self-worth. I don’t like who I’ve become since being a mother. I want to get back on track & feel balanced again.

Yeah, totally get that. haha. If I may share some thoughts? I've been diving into this topic, asking, listening and reading lots on it. I don't perceive scripture is alluding to just serving our husbands. Our husbands are called to submit to the Lord and lead the weaker(smaller, not as muscular, more fragile, etc-not in an offensive way) vessels, wife, children, animals, etc. Women are called to submit to their husbands, who show us the Lord's love through their own submission to Him. It's actually such a beautiful cycle. This not only has been true in my home, but also in many relationships around me...but when the woman is faithfully submissive to her husband, he blossoms! There is SO much more that goes into it and what submission practically, spiritually and emotionally looks like but that's what I've been learning! What are your thoughts?

@@margaretmatheny my thoughts are it is not a healthy relationship when one person is always serving the other. I also am an atheist and have had a happy, healthy marriage for almost 15 years. We are a partnership, not a hierarchy. Some of the happiest marriages I’ve seen are not based on religious doctrine, but a genuine desire to spend their lives together. You can absolutely be religious without that being how your marriage is defined. Otherwise, it’s too easy to look at all the god approved horrific ideas of relationships and use that as an excuse to do messed up things to your spouse.

@@margaretmatheny You say the husband blossoms, but what about the wife? I don‘t believe that submission means love. I think it creates an imbalance of power that is unhealthy.
