Giving away your number while drunk is one thing. A big thing, don't get me wrong, but something that could potentially be overcome. It is noteworthy that she didn't tell him about "accidentally" giving her number away, he only found out due to coincidence. But if you're continuing to keep in contact, you're doing that because you're actively sleeping with them or you're keeping them on reserve in case your current relationship falls through. The second he realized she had saved some random guy as a contact on her phone, he should have cut and run. Why would you save them as a contact unless you were planning on keeping in touch?

Tried playing eugenics simulator and lost the draw... Another reason to make paternity tests mandatory - no harm done, a lot of security gained. Guy should still grow a spine. It's not helpful to infantilize your partner, even after a traumatic event - not for months. She really used OP really bad and I feel very sorry for that. Caring is good, but that doesn't mean the other person doesn't do anything - I don't know I'd always ask myself if I would want that for myself and no - I would not want someone treating me like a child. It's ok to do it sometimes, but not consistently over months.

I personally make sure my partner is being faithful, not in a obsessive way but I am not blind to what she is up to. For example I share location, I think this is really important not only for many safety reasons but it is a very strong deterrent for cheating. 90% of these stories would not happen if the victim had the other persons location.

And while I'm ok with having it (I've lived with it all my life), it is a disability and I do suffer because of it. I would never want my children to have to suffer the way i am, but because it's inherited, I know that's a pipe dream. All this to say, just because someone looks hot, has an intellectual career, and appears to have no medical issues, does not mean that they possess superior genes. Hell, diabetes runs in my family. Heart attack increases can also be a inherited trait. What if his family suffers from early on-set dementia? Sophie just blew up her entire fucking life for a fling, and she isn't guaranteed the thing she fucking blew her life up for!!!! My fiance also has Three learning disabilities (including Adhd and Autism), anger issues runs in his family, and a pair of incestuous great great grandparents. I believe i have more of a reason to do what sophie did, and i refuse to. I'd rather we adopt than to put any of us (me, fiance and potential baby) through a clusterfuck of that magnitude just for "superior genes" Op said sophie was intelligent. This more than anything else should be an example of Intellect not equaling Smarts (I finished the story. Holy fuck. She wasn't into good genes. Genes do not determine how smart or talented someone is. I've seen doctors who had dumb kids lmao.

  • @AECH_CH

This is not correct - the error in your reasoning is that a doctor doesn't mean that someone is super smart, not that genes play no role in inteligence. It's quite the opposite - a huge factor of intelligence are the genes and the major other one is ofc the upbringing, environment etc. But for the purpose of correctness, genes play a huge role when measuring IQ. A lot of behavior and psychological disorders are partially inheritable - so it's not a bad idea to actually look out for a mentally stable partner. As for IQ: There's always some regression to the mean, even with 2 super smart people - and life really shows that you don't have to have high IQ to be successful or famous or whatever.

Your comment is the proof that your parents are stupid. Genes HIGHLY determine your intelligence. They way your neurons communicate is genetic. They war your various brain regions are developed is genetic.

@@Homiloko2 it's isn't. Intelligence isn't based on one's genes but thir ability to learn and be aware of their abilities. Intelligence isn't a part of any genome or depends on genetics. Many highly intelligent people came from parents who worked the menial jobs and some of which never went to college. Stats are used to mislead

  • @Homiloko2

@@J.P_INC. What do you mean 'stats are used to mislead'? Statistics are statistics. Intelligence isn't solely defined by genetics, but is influenced by a wide array of factors. One of which is genetics. But it's not one particular gene that defines it, but instead a large number of genes that contribute by small amounts. This is called a polygenic trait. Of course, since genetics is only a contributing factor, that means you'll get a large amount of exceptions, but these exceptions can be likely plotted to a normal curve. Having exceptions doesn't mean a trend doesn't exist.

I believe the wife in the first story had some serious mental illness after the miscarriages because the way she was just throwing herself at anyone who seemed "inteligent" is strange it looks like she was actually blaming the husbands genes for what happened
