Is this the same Aussie couple of who the husband surprised the wife with an F1 SIM set up a few years ago? I remember the scene of her driving in and wondering what her husband was up to filming her walking inside the house and seeing the SIM for the first time. Most surprising thing was that she didn't freak out like any other typical Aussie wifey, she actually wanted to try it out. I believe she was testing Adelaide Park Circuit and pointing out where they once watched the F1 race

Been in a rig like this where the scenario is already done up - and it was very fun and the motions definitely felt convincing that the car was going forward/sideways. But this is a whole new level! To be able to give input to get a dynamic output like this is just something I've always wanted to experience.

Wind simulator?! Holy crap what a rig!!! And she is being a great sport. Good job both of you.

Not sure how old you are I remember a rig in the arcade with the old blocky OG graphics and you had to drive the car around a loop and it was really hard hit I always wanted to drop a quarter in it, that and the Aega Rally sim.

If someone ever broke into this guy's house, you know they ain't getting out of this room 😂

I've just never understood that. I've got a nice car, and it's great fun to take out....but with a rig I can drive almost every car, against real people, at any hour of the day. They're just incomparable as far as I'm concerned!

I have seen many racing sims and I have to say using these huge monitors/tvs and that plastic that goes between the screens to hide the gap with the lights off really makes this look so fucking real. I have to admit this is probably the best looking sim setup in someone's home period and tbh even better than most I have seen commercially. It looks so good even when crashing.

This is sooo over the top, but sooo cool to watch. It is so easy to believe you are filming in an actual car, the visuals are stunning! Fun times and Happy Anniversary!

For her skill level, she did an amazing job not crashing or making major mistakes for a good 6 mins I think! She didnt push too much and made gradual motions with the wheel and pedals. Fun video. The sim is unreal.

Woow it's really cool to see your setup from different camera angle's. Your wife is doing really well, I guess the big screens really help to have a sense of speed and drive intuitively. Amazing.

This looks so fun, what an incredible setup! Interesting point about the air simulation helping with motion sickness - It's not something I've ever suffered from myself but I have friends that do. Obviously very different to a rig like this, but I play a good amount of VR stuff, sim racing included and said friends often have a bit of trouble in faster paced stuff due to the simulated motion. Having a fan blowing on them enables my friends to play those kinds of games for a bit longer where usually they would have felt sick very quickly. My mum found even flat screen first person games give her motion sickness, only person I've known personally to have this problem, but even she said the fan actually helped a bit when she briefly tried it. Don't really understand the exact science, but it helps the body/mind kind of "ground" itself and feel less disorientated. It's a useful tip for anyone who suffers with motion sickness, weather that's from a fully physical rig like this or purely visual like VR/flat screen.

A few years ago I frequently passed through LA and usually hired a fun car and would spend a lot of time driving around such places - Angeles Crest Hwy (from memory) etc. Did it in anything from a Mini Cooper S convertible to a Dodge Challenger and had a blast! I would go to the race track irl. But people also play fifa or nba games and i never understood this when you can just go out in reality. I only like games that i cant do in real life like unreal tournament / tekken or such. As a kid its fine but now as an adult i want to live the real things. The setup us still impressive to habe build.

Wow, having owned this exact car for a few years, it's amazing how detailed this model is.

Yeah, right, I know I'm super late to the party, but this is just so awesome! As a motorcycle driving "Angeleno", I have to say that I thought it was Highway 2, then when you confirmed it to your wife as "canyons in Los Angeles" I was VERY impressed. The rendering of the scenery, road, elevation changes, etc. all are very spot on. Personally, I've never driven (or ridden) it in the wet, but this was so fantastic to watch and enjoy! I’m really impressed with that SIM! I’ve never been on those roads, much less to the west coast; but I’ve seen these roads enough to recognize them instantly from the moment she first pulled off! Too cool!

I remember when my dad had one of these... it was built inside a VB Holden supercar and he used to tow it to carnivals and events. He set it up at home, had me perfect Bathurst then he put challenges out to the public to beat me (I was about 10 or so) had to pay double the price if you lose or got the ride for free if you won... Dads friend was the only one to beat me but turns out he was one of the actual drivers in the V8 supercars lol

Great video as always. Maybe, every once in a while, you can swap your pedal cam window with the view from behind that awesome rig. With the big screens and, I guess, the action of the motion tracker, the motion of your rig isn't as obvious. Keep up the good work and the fun.

Just showed this video for my wife, and asked if we could invest in somelike sim setup like that.. let’s just say she wasnt that impressed with an idea.. 🤓
