Widespread Panic is an American rock band from Athens, Georgia. The current lineup includes guitarist/singer John Bell, bassist Dave Schools, drummer Duane Trucks, percussionist Domingo "Sunny" Ortiz, keyboardist John "JoJo" Hermann, and guitarist Jimmy Herring. The band's original drummer, Todd Nance, left in 2016.[1]
The band was formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1986, and is influenced by the Southern rock, blues-rock, progressive rock, funk and hard rock genres. They have been compared to other jam bands such as the Grateful Dead and Phish.[2] Widely renowned for their live performances, as of 2018, they hold the record for number of sold-out performances at Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Morrison, Colorado) at 57 and Philips Arena (Atlanta, Georgia) at 20.

I find his guitar, playing annoying and way too busy. I prefer more soulful players, like Jerry and Houser.

I went to every Red Rocks show until 2021. I was living in Aspen and it was a June pilgrimage. They know the place they are playing is sacred and it shows. Thank you
Hey Jam Band Music fans.... Im 60 yrs Old, this is My Page. Beside being a Player & getting to play w some really Awesome Musicians, I grew up on Duane & Dickey with Jerry & Bob on the Side. I have followed all since have had great chats with many greats. If you want to Argue Stupid nonsense this is >NOT the Place. You know Bands make changes, sometimes those changes are Bc of a Death sometimes NOT. I would rather hear those bands Continue, regroup in most cases but to slam this person over that person or that band over this Band.... is NON SENSE I will NOT Approve these Comments. Are they ever going to turn JB up? I'm sitting here listening to each person, all present, including JB's voice, but his guitar...I am watching his strumming hand and I cannot discern any notes/sounds coming from it. - Asking for all the old school dudes that saw them play in GA in the mid 90s when you also could not hear JB-

That is so f****** hilarious I can't even believe it I just told my boyfriend last night that he plays congas like sunny and he does
Kinda feel bad for security. They get closer to the stage than anybody and hear the best music, but can’t turn around and look at the band for a whole song

Hollow Body Guitars are a different Beast, they can go to feedback really quick, not knowing if he has tried to treat that ala cotton balls or other dampening effect. I have Noticed in other Mixes also his guitar is very low in the Mix on a Variety of shows....if anything I would say the Original Mix & why is he Not UP in that Mix more....If I were Mixing those Guys & I am available btw WSP folks he would be Up db

Why is Bob Weir guitar not turned up?... JB is playing rhythm guitar and is purposely in the background accenting and filling tiny gaps. He mutes often sometimes using a wah pedal playing off rhythms. Yes that can take some critical listening to recognize, but it's there. Turning him up in the mix changes the sound of the entire band as the other instruments would need to adjust as well. It would be quite noticeable if he wasn't playing, if his guitar was totally cut out. Keep listening carefully friend and you will hear him. ✌️

Some EQ presets can actually help with this. Find one closest to your liking then you can dial it in from there!
