Are you able to do a comparison with the f4 & the f2.8 gm, I am curious what are your thoughts on it

Homes Media we talked a little about it on one of our videos to NYC in BH, there is minimal difference in look! We decided to stick with f4 cause it’s lighter for video

It’s been years and years, but I always come back to fast wide lenses. I remember how impossibly cool they seemed when I first saw pictures from them. Love this series!

The Enthusiasm Project same I remember when I first shot with a 10mm on an A-PSC camera and I was mind boggled!
Love this series! I’m currently shooting on a micro 4/3 25mm so I guess 50mm equivalent! It’s always awesome to see how people work with ONE focal length, it forces you to be more creative
I'm just LOVING this series!
distortion is one of my fav things of wide lenses!! absolutely love it!!
This is a really useful series, and wide angle was definitely something I needed to look at! Thanks guys!
Hmm...16mm is a focal lenth that alot people don't think for portrait but the results were quite interesting.

Mic Rose aw glad to hear it!
Absolutely love the examples of shots for each point you make! Feeling inspired af to go out and shoot now!
Watching this video in 4k was amazing!! Keep killing it guys! Loving the content and the journey of each video.
I had the choice between the Sony F4 16-35 and the Tamron F2.8 17-28. Im so glad I took the Tamron as you're so right about missing that extra stop of light.
I love this video! Can’t believe I’ve only just come across this series you’ve created - I need to watch the rest now 😍
Woah the portraits of Chris in the wind and the other Chris in the mirror are AMAZING
Love this series! Can't even tell you how helpful this stuff is for newbies!

Joseph Parsons so glad to hear it!!
Love this video! The FPV shots are unreal. I just bought a cheap adapter for my A7R3 to use old Nikon-mount glass I got when I was much younger. One being a real cheap 16mm but I've fallen in love with the wide look and it not being tack sharp, gives it character!
That photo of Johnny Harris in the woods is sooo good! Love it! ❤️ The best one for me!
i have the 16-35 f4 and oh my, going travelling with that is fun. For travel where I want to capture the environment, this is one of my fav lense :)
I love it!
Oooo, a 16mm *hastily scribbles it on the ever growing wish list*. The shots look so cool, I particularly like the one in the trees.
Dozens of helpful info about the 16 mm with examples. 👏
loving this series - 85mm for the next vid would be really cool as you said 🙌🏼 can’t wait for it
Absolutely loving this new series Becki and Chris! Great info!

Kerry Allen thanks so much! It’s a ton of fun to make!
That photo of Chris looks so dope!!! Specially with the distortion 👏🏼❤️
Thanks for another good video. I really like the distortion on the 16 mm. Recently got one but have not got the chance to experiment more with! But now with our current situation (curfew) I see an opportunity there!
Love this series!
That's great! I love my 16-35L and... AND! your videos :)
Very nice. I agree if you play with the distortion it works.
New video after 2 weeks It's PERFECT 😊
Thank you!
No Bug, No Bullshit, Only crystal clear information. Loved it.
Take a shot every time you hear “distortion” or any version of the word. Lol

Those FPV drone shots were amazing! I got you Dr. Chris
I'm loving this series!! I'm putting in a vote for 35mm, mainly because I'm crushing on the EOS R/35mm 1.8 combo :)
16-35mm f2.8 is my favorite and I usually use it at 16mm :) thanks guys!
Your videos inspires me so much. Thanks.
I love this video!! Very helpful and exciting! 16mm is my Fav Focal Length… thanks for creating and sharing this awesome video.
👍Love the series. Glad to hear others are also pulling for 85mm. 16-35 f2.8 in my travel kit was a practical choice due to space consideration (purchased before the Tamron 17-28 debut) and it does spend a lot of time on the camera. I use 16mm, but infrequently. 18mm is about is about my limit before things get a bit too weird for my eye. But yes, very wide shots can be used for dramatic perspectives and cool effects! If you are not obsessed with keeping your vertical lines straight in the frame it can be fun. 😅
at 9:20 arch photo shoot is best in parallel view for not so much distortion and lie to a client. because the room looks bigger. cheers
I love these videos feels like a movie
These focal length challenges just make me wanna go o and capture all the photons! Thank you for making great content!

HashBrown HomeGym hell yes!!!
Thank you for your 16mm Focal Length Challenge. When I first started shooting professionally, I did not even have a wide-angle lens. However, my first assignment at the newspaper were I was working was to photograph the grand opening an Ethan Allen furniture store. That was when I realized I really needed a wide-angle lens. Over years, I added 35, 28, 24, 21, 18, and 14mm wide-angle lenses to my inventory. I have never tried using my 18 or 14mm lenses in a one-lens/one-body challenge.
That 16mm is crazy! Love how that forest shot turned out
We JUST got a 16mm Sigma lens. Can’t wait to start experimenting with it!
Even if I hate the video cmon I can't even take my eyes of you Becki why do beautiful
Love your videos all the time. I have a huge back log to catch up on from where I last left off 🙌🏾🙌🏾
Nice seeing you becki ty for the video
Oh, I really got to try this! Thank you for yet another great video!

One of your best videos yet!
Holy sh^t! I just stumbled upon this and the cast in this video is insane! I just kept seeing all these huge names showing up one after another. Crazy seeing everyone before there channels blew up to what they are now. Wow awesome video.
I'm really liking this charcoal color grade on your photos/videos these days. Have you ever talked about how you create the look? Cheers!
We've been using a 16mm for all (well... most) of our travel shots/vids lately. It's for a crop sensor, so not quite a true 16, but still love it! Loving this series, guys! ✌️🖤 🤙
Thanks... Think im gonna buy it now❤
I LOVE a wide lens! 24 is my "go to" but HOT DAMN! 16mm is LIT!!!! and the drone shots!! Was that FPV? OMG!!! I think I need to move to BC
Are you making more of these videos?? I love them!! Would you do the 50 mm??
wow Amazing portriats
Gonna head out with a wide angle after this vid ... 👊
Loving the series! Cool earrings Becky!
really cool video! Lens challenges are a really cool idea!
Finally got the sigma 16mm and I love it
Thank for this look at the 16 mm . I have been thinking about getting a wider lens. This might just be the one I’m looking for. By the way I love how your photos and your video seem to match.

Joshua Cappello he’s getting so good!
Everything looks tasty AF at 16mm!!
I am coming into this comment section a bit late, but I just purchased a 16mm RF lens for my vertical specific video rig (EOS R8) in order to also produce and create very unique perspectives for clients reels which can (hopefully) set me apart from others who *just* shoot in the more common 28mm style "vertical phone" field of view. Greets from New Hampshire!
I love it .. the distortion it generates is a great compositional element if you know how to use it

Love using my 17-40 f4 L and it's mostly used at 17mm.
That hair thoo!!! I LOVE
Nice shot!! I've been shooting with my 14mm a lot for the last 2 weeks. It's definitely pushing boundaries and forcing creativity.
I have done tons of 16mm portraits with my Canon M50 in combination with my Sigma 16mm. I have to veeery close, but I like the results. I use it a lot when my children are playing.
Loved this video. 16 mm is very intimidating for me. I haven’t shot in a 16 mm in a long time. Will definitely try something soon. Thanks guys

Prajwal Naveen it’s so much fun!
Subscribed for the jokes about boars 😂 literally laughed so hard. Happy to see a Canadian photography channel! Cool videos
I brought a Canon 6D Mark II last week. I'm loving it, of course. But my main lense, a Sigma 18-250mm f/3.5-6.3, is only for APS-C sensor, so I'm limited to my other lens, a 50mm f/1.8. Watching this video makes me want to shoot wide soooooo much 😭
My Sony 16-35GM 2.8 is stuck on my camera since i got it! Only time I switch it is if I wanna take some portraits with my 85 or something really far with my 100-400! Great video :)
I really dig this series! Such a cool idea and obvi, sick photos Becki. Keep it up!

Great video Becki. I just picked up a 16-35 2.8 GM for my A7R IV. You made me feel good about the expensive purchase.

Eddie Nunez worth it!!
Great series, like to challenge myself with primes
Love your channel and content! Wish I found it sooner
Years ago, I saw my personnel file. It described my job interview, and me as having a "commanding presence." Bearing that in mind, I used a TS-E 17 for a self portrait. I set the camera as low as I could, horizontal, the lens shifted up. I organised myself up, as high as I could, and clicked away. The result, an almost full-body portrait. It's somewhere on my Facebook page. I announced late last year, my plan to use the wrong lens and the wrong settings. This was part of it.
I see the Vancouver winter weather still doesn't disappoint.

Ben Selby 16-35 and 24-70 are both great choices!
I love wide angle! I loved 10-18mm lens for canon (tho on my cropped sensor with 1.6 factor 10 is more like 16mm) and i loved using it for event photography (electronic music festival for shooting groups of people to be precise) :D A month ago i bought new phone (Redmi Note 8T) that has ultra wide lens and 48MP camera... Tbh i don't care about 48MP as much as I do about that wide angle because now storytelling with my photos is way more dramatic because of distortion 👽☺️👌🏻
Dear Becki & Chris the most famous lens now is Canon 28mm-70mm kindly review those for us, your reviews are really great and fun to watch, so as i heard 28mm-70mm can replace the primes like 24-28-35-50-85 so kinda like 1 ring to rule em all, so that’s my question to you😊am sure it’ll be interesting for you to find out too, cheers John.G
The 16-35 f2.8 is pretty much welded to my camera at this point, but I rarely shoot it at anything other than 35 lol! Definitely feeling inspired to use the other end of the lens more :)

Roland Kaufmann it was so good to be back!
Loved the photos. I still need practice viewing the pictures to understand how to see the distortion. They all looked great. It depends on the person I guess and whats is their mind on a nice photo. But me I enjoy and appriciate all.
Beautiful! Would be really nice to se a video of you editing the photos i this video.
