wicklow way vlog || complete solo hiking and wild camping guide

Only one year late, I have finally managed to edit the full wicklow way vlog thanks.
If you are also planning on doing the wicklow way, I have a few tips and links that might help you out:
HOW TO GET THERE
This can be a bit tricky because public transport here is.. well.. not the best.
It is easy to get to the starting point in Marley Park (or end, depending on which direction you walk) - Dublin Bus 16 will take you there from the city centre and the bus runs every 10 to 20 mins or so. If you are only hiking to Glendalough (like I did), you can take one of those tourist busses back to Dublin or you take a public transport shuttle bus to some village nearby from which there are busses back to Dublin (this is cheaper but a bit more complicated). However, if you want to continue further south it gets even more complicated. Another common place to start/end is Tinahely. You can get there by taking a bus to Carlow and then a public transport shuttle bus to Tinahely. From there, it is almost exactly 100km to Dublin. If you are doing the entire Wicklow Way, it will end in Clonegall in County Carlow from which you then have to walk to Bunclody where you can get a bus either straight back to Dublin or to Enniscorthy.
The most beautiful part is without doubt the bit from Dublin to Glendalough shown in this video. I have done the hike again this year from Tinahely and found that the trail south of Glendalough becomes less foresty and crosses more open fields, yet it was still nice.
WHERE TO CAMP
Officially, you are not supposed to wild camp along the wicklow way as some of the land is owned by farmers. However, you will see plenty of unofficial campsites along the way and if you leave the place as you found it, you will be fine. There are three or four huts in which you can rest and potentially sleep, yet I would recommend bringing a tent to be safe. The first spot where I camped was at Glencree River just beyond Knockree. These are the exact coordinates of the small island on which I camped (11:06): goo.gl/maps/LH9uLfML8gn28CmQ8 However, there are plenty of camping spots along the river.
The second night I stayed at Brusher Gap Hut (18:17): goo.gl/maps/JTALcFCtawCGaTQm8 If you find the energy to continue for another hour, I highly recommend camping at a different spot along the river shown at 22:02. These are the coordinates: goo.gl/maps/fvGyPJ4KQ1uKnVNz5
Further south, I would simply stick to the huts or camp wherever you feel is a good spot.
LINKS
This is the map from google maps that I was using:

You can download it on your phone and it should show up on your google maps, telling you exactly where you are.
This is the website from which I got the map:

I'm glad you didn't eat the foxgloves ;-) I think you may have been thinking of valerian root, which has a very similar pink colour, and is found all over Dublin, and can be good for helping with insomnia :-) Great video, you've inspired me to walk the wicklow way.

I really like your videos, they're interesting and I appreciate how genuine they feel. It's crazy such a rural hike exists so close to Dublin. Scotland has some really nice hikes that remind me of this, especially in and around the Cairngorms.

I’m lucky enough to live in Wicklow 🍀 Great video 😊 I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone hike in doc martens before 🤔 I’m wondering now how comfortable they are

Awesome video and good advice too. I was trying to recognise the accent the whole way through. It's like a little Australian, but I reckon you're from the UK, do I have that right?
