Well, if you haven't lived under some rock for the last ~20 years you should at least come across the musical once or twice, the story is therefore well known already, as it seems they follow the musical with close detail and minor additions.

He's a phenomenal actor and I love everything he's in. Makes every movie he's in extremely watchable. Focus on his achievements not his mistakes

The fact that the trailer showed too much aside, I am so excited for this. I absolutely loved the Broadway musical. Arianna Grande and Cynthia Erivo are amazing vocalists. I love the technicolor color palette. The CGI doesn’t bother me. Is it over the top? Yes. But what about OZ isn’t?

Despite all the controversy, this actually look pretty good to me! I wish the trailer wasn’t so revealing but we kinda already know the story

The only thing good about the play is the music, and even that sounds surprisingly lackluster here. Neither singer seem very emotionally invested. No one will ever beat Carrie St. Louis as Galinda.

It’s a Broadway show based on a book, that’s a retelling of the Oz books.

Understanding this is just a trailer, the acting is all over the place. Glinda seems perfect. But Elphaba is awful. Her line delivery is horrendous.

I wish this story was darker that way it’s realistic cuz the actual story is no heart warming story let’s just say there’s a lot of death in it.

Because he's charismatic and fatherly, which is how the Wizard came to power in the first place. Perfect casting.

Wicked is my favourite musical This looks horrible

They already did a prequel for Wizard of Oz, called Oz the Great and Powerful back in 2013; and it dealt with the origins of the wicked witch. Do they really need another one?

This story isn’t canon to the original books or any other movies taking place in that world. So don’t worry. This is based on the musical that has been on broadway for 20 years. It has many fans that have looked forward to it for probably more than a decade.
