    I'm still hesitant to say that jyp cares for his artists, because while this may be true for, say, Twice, it's not true for Got7. There's obvious favouritism, to no fault of Twice, but there definitely is and there's no denying that Got7 has received the short straw for much of their careers when compared to other groups of JYPE.

    @alex is Sorry, I keep on seeing your comments and I just want you to be informed of REAL information regarding GOT7. GOT7 is popular, especially world-wide, they have won world-wide act in MAMA for three consecutive years (until it became a daesang). The reason GOT7 debuted because JYPE at that time was falling into bankruptcy, they thought it would be an opportunity for the company to be "saved" from it. And GOT7 did save it. With their debut mini album, they were the first KPOP boy group to have reach Billboard. So it's not a question of popularity. Furthermore, their own variety shows, their tours? Those are the bare minimum. What's the say that they'll have exposure with ONLY their own variety shows and not showing up on national TV variety shows.

    I do think JYP is a lesser evil, and I understand from some of the Ahgase’s POV, but JYPE has always been the kind of company to only focus on the ones they want to focus on. They also did 2AM dirty imo, but at the end of the day I still am grateful this is a company who cares about their idols like humans and wants the best for them, even if it’s not always translated in promotions. JYP himself is pretty conceited, but I think that’s just how he is, not malicious. He thinks a certain way and does things a certain way, which is common of people his age, they have a “method” and that translates to how JYPE is run. But I admire that he requires the same of himself as he does with his idols (he’s also hard on himself as a musician, keeps fit and can perform to a certain level he’s requiring his artistes to do). At the end of the day, no one and no company is perfect. People are always going to have favourites and find fault. JYP do JYP and at the end of the day we’ll all see what happens in the end and who’s still standing. :”)

    I think what makes JYPE stands out is the fact that JYP himself is a performer and knows what it's like to be in the limelight. He treats his idols in the company like colleagues, not like he owns them like most CEOs do. He cares for their mental health which is important. None of the people that left JYPE left full of hate. I completely understand where Yubin is coming from. I mean in general, doesn’t matter what career/job/category you’re in, once you get comfortable and used to the whole environment and all, you’re pretty much stuck and do quite the same thing over and over again.. And I think many artists that left a certain agency/group in order to grow and find themself, I think it’s completely normal. Nope totally not. As JYP artists fan and a KPOP fan. SM is way more better in music industry. Because, JYPE has managing divisions, Div 1, Div2 etc. And That totally sucks. Some JYPE artists got way more better promotion. JYPE practiced favoritism and injustice when it comes to everything, seriously it pisses me off until now. GOT7's Mark & Bambam address were leaked online, Youngjae has been constantly expressing his disappointment to his sasaseng fan to stop following him over the year it keeps on happening but no action from JYP? Mark got bullied and we're harrass online but no action. Midzys demands good promotion, they sent massive mails to JYPE but no action. But when it comes to Twice? (I don't want to speak abt that bc I know they deserve good promotion and protection) DAY6 isn't promoted. Another example, GOT7’s comebacks have consistently been under promoted, or just not promoted at all. No albums available on Amazon and constantly sabotaging their success. (I can prove you that but it's not enough here) JYP consistently refuse to let got7 have full creative control over their music even though they’re seniors and more than capable of it

  • @nguyengirl7684

    @nguyengirl7684

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@user-yk2rz2jt6j I'm not going to deny that JYP's division system has created clear inconsistencies in promotion for different artists. However, SM has had/currently have mistreated and or poorly promoted so many of their artists too. the whole "slave contract" became synonymous with SM entertainment. SM is known out of the big 3 to take the most cut out of their artists revenues. I was a fan of f(x) and they were treated terribly under SM entertainment. Rarely any comebacks despite being the 2nd best selling active girl group at the time. After 2015, SM basically didn't give a shit about snsd or cared to promote any of the members properly (despite snsd being a core group for sm in the 2nd gen). Taeyeon has used IG multiple times to call out SM for basically forgetting about her releases or SNSD. Red velvet has also received so much half assed promotion despite being one of the top tier girl groups active right now. and btw, i can sense you passive-aggressiveness when you say "but when it comes to twice...". fact is when you look at how much money, publicity, and prestige twice bring in for JYP, they are also mismanaged. It is embarrassing to look at their cheap ass CGI MVs with plagiarism issues and poorly edited photobooks when they are literally a pillar for JYP as a company. Even the korean general public is confused why Twice's Japanese releases are of much higher quality than their korean comebacks. However, when it comes to the basic level of care. JYP provides mental health resources for its artists. all past JYP artists (besides jay park) have said JYP continues to be a mentor for them, and while there is some mismanagement, it's no where near the level of YG, and as a fan of some jyp artists i feel that they are in a place that prioritizes them as humans before "products"

Because I obviously love the artists that JYPE ends up training; they have good personalities and immense talent and they’re honest (for the most part). The fact that the artists’ mental health (and their emotional well being) is taken into account is by far better than how SM and YG deal with their artists. Yet the number one flaw is that the less popular artists (but no less talented ones) as the years go by, their promotion wanes (because obviously the company wants to make money, make more profit, not essentially help these artists gain a solid fandom). That’s what the company is about, at the end of the day. It’s about fat checks. Building a reputation of world class stars. It’s not about sort of maintaining a level of trust and devotion to that artist who has stayed loyal to you all this time. It’s not about: “oh you’ve been with us 13 years, maybe we should give you special treatment” No. What JYPE stays true to is that: “Look, twice is popular, Itzy is popular; they get invited to more shows; they get more music show wins; we know the public wants these groups so we’re gonna promote the hell out of them.” And hey, I love Twice. I adore them but I also adore GOT7 and Day6. And it’s sad to me and it’s obvious that these two groups in comparison to the new rookie groups and in comparison to nation’s gg, they are sidelined more. And it’s not because got7/day6 is not popular or they don’t bring in revenue. They do. But I guess they don’t bring it quite as much as Twice (I have no idea) or they don’t bring it with quite so much popularity (at least in Korea). Because twice does win multiple soty and has built a solid reputation in Korea, they’re a lot more sought after (they’re “hot” or “trendsetters”) but GOT7, through their concerts and world tours, have really brought in a lot of revenue too. Because they do have popularity in multiple countries. And they do sell great worldwide. They have such an amazing potential and they can do much if the company took a chance and promoted them in foreign countries instead of marketing Twice instead. Yes, twice will be liked by American consumers too (I can attest to that) but most American/western fans are females, not males. This is why Wonder Girls didn’t take off in America. Twice is loved well enough in their home country that they don’t need that extra push into foreign grounds. Who and what needs an extra push into foreign grounds is GOT7. They need to take into consideration that got7 needs to be signed into a western label (like Twice) and Day6 should be too. And these groups’ videos should be subbed in multiple languages appropriately because got7/day6 have many foreign fans. You’re a company wanting to make money? Well there’s plenty to be made from got7 and day6, but treat their fans better, give them what they’re hollering about instead of neglecting these awesome, talented artists and maybe then there won’t be quite so much anti-JYPE stans.

    Honestly even BTS fans holler about subs and stuff. It’s just not easy for companies to please everyone and worldwide marketing is not as easy as people think. I don’t know, I’m not a JYPE stan and I love 2pm and day6, but sometimes I feel like it’s easy to keep seeing the bad sides a certain way because we want to believe that. Twice fans have alre clarified that it’s not what Ahgases claim, so idk man... maybe everything has two sides to the story.

    Tbh, how many of us can say our companies treat us, measly employees, very well? It’s the same for the idols tbh, they’re employees and sometimes you. Get sacrificed for the bigger picture. Is it ideal? No. Are there favourites? Yes. But isn’t that real life? It’s gonna happen at every company. I’m not saying we can’t try to change it, but sometimes the reality is such and adulting sucks. I also hope for the boygroups to get the promotions they seemingly deserve, but so much goes behind the scenes and I can’t say for sure I know what’s happening or I understand the idols. It hurt when Jo Kwon and Jamie chose to leave JYP, only because I know how talented they are and how much they do love the company. And I would have loved for them to have had better opportunities in JYP. But I also understand that companies operate in a certain way and some people are sacrificed for other faster ways of getting profits. Again, not ideal but hey, it’s real life. Happens 24/7. As long as the idols aren’t being treated like shit, I can’t say much. Are they still getting to perform? Write? They eat well? Are healthy? Are generally happy with their lives? Yes? Then I can’t ask for much more. The employee life. Probably why Yubin struck out on her own. Fighting!

I'll never forget when she and Ye-eun noona stopped to shake my hand, after the JYP & Wonder Girls tour in 2009. They didn't have to, but they did. Eric is great at conversing. Saying "mhm", nodding your head, making eye contact, and/or repeating a little of what a person says is a great way to show the person you're talking to that you're actively listening. Like even if you aren't making eye contact, cuz that is hard for a lot of people and in some cultures it is seen as disrespect, nodding your head or just having body language showing that you're listening will improve that person's mood and engagement in the conversation. Try it out folks.

    I feel like the whole misunderstanding with Yubin saying, "I feel free. Thanks JYP. But free now." is a cultural thing. Here in the US, we don't have such a strong, obvious, mentorship culture. It comes across as, "Thank you, next" kind of dismissiveness we hear in songs. I haven't listen to English language pop in ages now, but I can't remember the last time I heard a sincere 'Thank you for helping me. I'm going to fly on my own now' kind of lyrics in a song. It's always a 'Thanks haters, your hatred fuels my success' or 'I did it on my own cus I'm a boss!' narrative that is far from the truth.

    it's interesting everytime it happens. jype and ex jype artists usually remind their fans and the public that jyp is good. jamie mentioned that people were like "you're finally free" as in not in jyp's hands anymore but she was like "okay?" because she did feel comfortable there but it felt like time for her to start smth new (at least thats how i understand it) and she also mentioned the mental health checks and still cheers jyp on. jae posted a chat of him and jyp which i dont think i have to go into further. then this video right here. people are so fast with judging a whole company. barely any kpop cxompany is near perfect and you really cannot expect everything. just like no human is perfect. but, as someone in the comments already said, for some reason people love to emmidiatly think jype or jyp is bad just because an artist left the company.
