Why YouTube's Biggest Star Quit (Liza Koshy interview)

Before MrBeast, there was Liza Koshy. She was one of the biggest KZreadrs then quit...we discussed why and what's next. Join my free newsletter for the latest creator tips and news: www.created.news
Join my Discord with 4,500+ creators helping each other grow: / discord
I asked Liza why she left when she was on top of KZread, what it was like hosting the Met Gala, voice acting in the new Transformers movie, and how she's applying her skills as a host, actress, and director. Who knows, we may just see Liza on Saturday Night Live soon enough.

as a singer and musician, i love how she mentioned how she can get critical of her tone and other things within her complextion of acting. i tend to do that with my own musicianship, and hearing about how those "mistakes" or things happening in a certain way outside of "perfect" are inherentlty perfect in their own way really helps and encourages me to formulate things a lot less critically. sometimes our imperfections can make a performance even better .

I used to find her a bit obnoxious and thought she was a sell out after she stopped KZread 😂 I’m impressed at how well spoken she is and realizing she’s a true inspiration…great questions and great answers…there is no limit for what this girl can do…I most definitely can see her in SNL soon

I enjoyed the back as well as the forth, whereas mostly when I watch interviews, I'm into the interviewee and their answers. Thank you for this! ❤

she's truly an inspiration! i've been watching liza since vine when i was a preteen, and seeing her continue to flourish, transition over to traditional media as well as pave the way for many creators, whilst still remaining her authentic self, is so admiring! as a fan it's amazing to watch her articulate her journey and her thoughts with grace. i am beyond proud of liza's accomplishments and only wish that she continues to flourish, she deserves nothing less!

Liza, the point you made about rest is essential. I was in a similar position this past year. I was building my business, and going to graduate school so I could build a better business. I burnt myself out so badly I almost had to drop out. It took months to “reboot” and redevelop my executive function. Rest IS part of the process. You rest so you can do the work. “Rest is productive” (Elyse Myers)

I'm happy she talked about the importance of speaking about the process. It's understandable that when you're blazing your own trail and also in a creative role with so much responsibility and pressure on you, it's hard to know what the process is, hard to compute the present moment, but I'm noticing we've entered a stage of social media and creation in general now where that process, resources, routines etc are being acknowledged and shared more. It's so helpful, always, to hear from not only people who have already succeeded, but also people who are still on the path to that. It's also important to humanize the very people we look up to, and this helps bring that about too! I'm so inspired by Liza and everything she's done and talked about.
