KZread recently made the startling decision to take away the public dislike count on all videos. A video by Matt Koval on the KZread Creators channel explained the action as if it was a small thing we will get used to, since "other websites don't even have a dislike button", but the issue here is that other websites are not like KZread, which happens to be the 2nd biggest search engine in the world, home to a lot of how to videos, tutorials, and advice videos where a rating system is crucial to aiding the viewer discern between what is and what isn't trustworthy. In short, hiding dislikes across KZread is a terrible move. In this video we discuss why.

I love how everyone says this is a bad idea, and youtube hasn't changed it yet. It really shows how little they care for us viewers and creators
The weirdest thing about the removal is that the creator still has access to the dislikes. They're not protecting small creators at all, only the big advertisers.
KZread in 2030: “We're disabling comments to protect small creators from hateful criticism!”
We're just gonna see hundreds of single word comments: dislike
Pewdiepie made a good point about this how almost all of the most disliked videos on KZread are made by companies, that's who this is really to protect.
Inb4 KZread gets rid of subscriptions because every creator is equal...
"We do not want anyone to get scammed on youtube" and that is why we are removing an essential tool used to identify scams. Thanks youtube.

Hiding the dislike count was a stupid choice
Evil youtube be like: "So....we have listened to our fans."
They claim this is for the small creators, but literally everyone doesn’t want this
first thing i thought when i heard about the dislike removal is the fact that videos with an insane amount of dislikes has saved me several times from shady videos and lies
if you care so much about the small creators...promote their videos. Don't just stick with trendind channels and extreme thumbnails but like actually give small channels a chance to be seen. thank you
"Coordinated dislike attacks"
The fact that they remove dislikes actually causes smaller channels to be suspected of bad ratings, because you can only see half of the story for what the videos are worth.

I feel like this whole time, there was someone who's like "The Voice of Reason" who used to work at the KZread Headquarters, but he got fired, and ever sense then, KZread has been making awful changes that NOBODY really asked for!!!
But if it's harassing creators... Why can creators still see dislikes....
They're not removing the dislike button because "small creators".
