    Many thanks for this Hoya repotting video. Very enjoyable to watch! You are right that the success of growing a Hoya is dependent upon its environment and most enjoy good sunlight and a lot of it. Occasionally I have to move a few Hoya around for them to find their sweet spots, but it’s worth it. Take care and happy growing! 👌🪴🥰

    They seem to prop great in Leca ! My Variegated Macrophyla I purchased as a small few cuttings and it grew so large fast , luckily it props easily in Leca and I did one day . Then u noticed orange ish spots like rust all everywhere on every leaf , it was on that and my Scindapsis A. I had to get rid of everything because I thought it would spread everywhere. I only had a few nodes of the Scindapsis but it’s finally back . Tfs My Kerri have is a dead stick 😞 My Embricata is Alive ! My sunrise is completely in spag completely red and Always blooming, it came free with an international order 👍🏼🤩

    Oh cool!! I've been too scared to try leca by itself. I should do an experiment with some cuttings. I'm terrified of the rust! I'm sorry it got some of your plants! It sounds like you know your hoya, I'm sure they'll bounce back. That's sweet you're sunrise is a big bloomer! It's on my wishlist 🥰

    Yes for this! I have to water my Hoyas about 3x a week. At first I held back because of the advice I've seen. But then I decided to treat them as regular plants and saw a huge improvement. I have mine under grow lights for 14 hrs I think, 85F and 75%+ humidity. And they definitely need water more than once in a blue moon. But I guess it will greatly depend on the growing conditions and the substrate.

    That's awesome!! I'm glad you decided to try it out and saw such improvements. I'm sure it depends on conditions but I'm glad I'm not crazy over here!!

    75% humidity You must keep them a greenhouse or cabinet. I would have mold on my walls if I kept my house at this humidity level

    I am yet to have any Hoya but am looking to add some soon if all goes well. Enjoy your chatty updates and seeing what plants are available. I’ve also had conflicting advice on certain plants so I now listen to lots and try to filter it logically for the environment that I have. Slowly getting there I hope.

    I feel like the carnosa and obovata are great 'starter' hoya. Pretty easy! That's honestly the best way you could do it with so much info out there. It's so nice when you find someone who lives in your area so you know your environments are pretty similar. You got this!!

    Hey! As far as I know you can really only tell the difference when they flower because some of the colors with differ. I haven't had any blooms on that guy yet so I'm not really sure what I have

  • @planttherapii

    @planttherapii

    There are a bunch of ways to potentially tell. But I look for a bunch of roots coming out of the pot, or a bulging pot (if its a nursery pot). Another sign is the oldest leaves starting to yellow and die off fairly quickly! I hope that helps!!
