Sold my PS5 today. I'm just not interested in Sony's interactive cinema games anymore. They were fun back in the PS3 days, when we got stuff like the first three Uncharted games. But the formula is so damn tired now. I got no interest in Spider-Man 2. The only modern console I own now, is the Nintendo Switch, for their exclusives. The rest, I play on my gaming PC. I mostly only play retro styled indie games now. The AAA games just bore me to death now. Not even Starfield looks fun too me... At 47, I just don't have the patience for bloated open world RPG's.

RPGs are the only good games now, those cinematic trash is the complete opposite of RPGs, but the ps5 is my favorite console ever, it's the best console for playing RPGs since I have access to the entire library of ps5 and ps4 RPGs

That's what happens when you care more about graphics than good games, the budgets on games with high end graphics are unsustainable, this is why I like Asian gamers more than western gamers, Asians know what's important, good gameplay and art style are both more important than graphic fidelity, hopefully the western AAA gaming market will crash and they will start focusing on good gameplay over unsustainable graphics

As someone not into single player games, the PS5 is absolutely disappointing. I remember Battlefield 1 absolutely blowing my mind when it was released on PS4 in 2016.. I totally felt like I got my moneys worth both in terms of my PS4 console AND the game. Crazy to think that Dice hasn’t been able to replicate that since then whatsoever. The gaming industry already wasn’t in great shape back then, but it’s crazy to think just how much more it’s fallen since then.

That doesn't make any sense considering how horrible the hardware is on the switch, you can play most of the same 3rd party games at twice the resolution and twice the framerate on ps5, plus most Nintendo exclusives are trash besides the RPGs , the ps5 is 20x better performance and game library wise

@@mathewhosier9739 at lunch they stated that most games will run at 4K and 120 frames per second. I’m still waiting for this to happen on the games without having to make a trade off from Ray tracing. Gameplay is much better and more important to my attention as a gamer than graphics. Graphics can be as pretty as they want to be, but if your gameplay is repetitive, I’m not gonna play the game.

Still No real "Next Gen Games" not even Spiderman 2 or Starfield. I really think its lack of Talent & too afraid to Experiment at this point games have more or less been the same since late 7th generation consoles, they look slightly better at better resolutions & textures, but at the end of the day not real innovation.

How fo you feel about the Switch? I personally like it but am disappointed with how few actually new games came out. Luigis Mansion 3 (which is just LM 2 but bigger) Mario Kart 8 which is just Mario Kart 8 with a few new copy pasted tracks. Smash Bros. Ultimate did not do anything new. Mario Party Superstars is literally Mario Party 3 with fewer boards Zelda ToTK and Botw ate too samey.

they don’t want to make new games exclusive to next gen since they’re missing out a massive market and they end up forcing devs to compensate for 10 year old hardware as a result. sony/microsoft need to financially incentivize next gen exclusive games to begin the trend of not supporting last gen.

Get real, stuff has been anti-consumer for years. I'm just glad xbox can play used games (go home xbox, you're drunk) and ps5 has enhanced ps4 exclusives, which includes imports and whatever sony banned third parties from going on xbox. It just sucks to have to turn off microphones to get the feedback/triggers to work, and astro's playroom crashed. Then of course vid neglects PSVR2 if you feel like spending money. Vid should have emphasized xbox series s which works as a game pass and backwards compatible machine far better than ps4 digital. I like having that and a switch lite over getting hard drives for whatever multiplatform game is too big for ps5. PS5 is just a small upgrade from PS4 Pro; and that's the problem with exaggerating how something sucks or is GOATed.

@@gamb you're right but it's not sony/Microsoft doing this it's more the developers they are in the milking phase essentially. What they do is make it for new and old gen so they have people that will buy it on old gen still so they can have them pay for the ps5/xbox upgrade when they do get one. Some game companies don't do this but most will its a easy way to make cash off people... So it's more the developers fault when it comes to not helping push to the next generation. Sony and Microsoft want people to move to next gen not saying they're perfect because they are doing the same shit to be honest like remastering last of us part 1. It does suck for people that do have next gen tho and we haven't even got to see what the console is actually capable of yet really makes me feel like I have a ps4 pro 2.0. All the other generations they pushed the hardware to its absolute limits within the first couple months and now here we are 2 years later with all games basically just upgraded slightly. And I know writing isn't my strong suit so sorry if I made it hard to read

4k is now cheaper than 10years ago or when ps4 pro and xbox 1 x came out . 8k is still expensive and 16k I cant imagine how it will be

The pandemic really screwed these 2 consoles. Barely any games due to game production delays, financially challenging times, there was no reason to buy them. Like you said, the pandemic would've been a good time to stay home and play. Nintendo really lucked out, and it also extended the lives of the last gen consoles.

Knowing how bad the global economy was at the time, I don't know why they decided it was a good idea to launch these consoles when they did. It has been nothing but grief until most recently. I am normally an enthusiast gamer that will get the consoles at launch. These two were the first time that I was unable to do that. I miraculously managed to get a Series X last year, a few days after Black Friday, and via the Xbox All-Access program, no less. PS5? Just happened to finally be able to get it... JUST the console, with no bundles or other strings attached. That in itself turned out to be a lucky break, given that most people likely settled on getting the much easier to acquire Ragnarok bundle, just because Sony/PlayStation chose to focus on making as many of those as they could, likely to bump up revenue numbers for the last quarter of 2022. Now onto the games. It has been a little anti-climatic, to say the least. I can't recall a generation where games have been so relatively slow to ramp up. NOt gonna get into how disappointing Xbox's ramp up has been, but so far it looks like 2023 could finally be a good year for them. PlayStation? Well, there have been a few bonafide Next-gen hits that they could be proud of, but they are quickly sinking into "remaster/remake madness"... I mean, c'mon - I'm looking at Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, Uncharted Legacy Collection, Nioh Collection - then remakes of Demon's Souls and The Last of Us (which is the 3rd time it's being redone, BTW); finally, there are games like Ragnarok, Forbidden West, GT7 - games that they decided to release last gen ports for, so who knows what compromises they might have made to accommodate that. Waht games did that leave to form a truly Next Gen experience? Returnal and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. So I don't know - I have both, but I can't say that I'm truly wowed by either yet. The only good thing is that I can play both current and previous gen games on them with confidence, which saves a bit of space in my Entertainment center. In some ways, it's like the PS2 - it was nice to be able to enjoy PS1 games while the truly generation-defining games on PS2 came out.

These systems sell very well, which was aided by covid and people wanting to be ripped off by scalpers to join Sony's ecosystem. Then of course the playstation God of war bundle is like a price increase if the default one isn't available. Just hope you didn't buy ragnarok on a PS4 or you'll be forced to double dip (I got lucky with horizon forbidden west bundle though that went on sale after I bought, and you got a base PS5) if you want to upgrade and give away or trade your old system. I'm gonna enjoy rhapsody and robocop on ps5.

yeah i feel like they’ve been mediocre so far, but the future for them looks better tbh. They’re really convenient especially bc of their ssds and faster loading times on last gen games. I just expected more since the only ‘next gen’ transition i’ve lived through was the 360 to the xbox one and the ps4 to the ps5, and that transition felt massively more hyped and exciting for me compared to this one.

@@gamb NGL, last gen was a somewhat awkward time to release a new console, especially given how they were dependent on AMD, who were still trying to catch up to Intel at the time - it led to the release of interim consoles mid-generation for both. Technology wise, 2020 was technically a good year to release something new and exciting, but the global economy and supply chain simply was not ready for it.

Definitely felt this right off the bat. Bought my ps5 2 years ago was amazed at the features showcased in the pre installed astro boy game. Unfortunately my amazement stopped there. In the last 2 years I've had like 2 ps5 games which are no better than the ps4 versions and my ps5 has pretty much gathered dust in the last few months as I've been play old xbox one. Stoll don't actually feel like I've entered the next gen yet.

Don't get these get a pc

I own a PS4. My problem is most new games are BETA copies and not the final copy. So I bought Alien Isolation, Evil Within, and Fallout 4. Then they made DLC for these games that I didn't get. So I think Fallout 4 was the last new game I bought. I will not buy a BETA copy. So I buy old games for $10 or less now, but they are the final copies. Shadow of the Tomb Raider Defenitive edition was the last game I bought for $10. And I bought Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition for $5. Then Tekken 7 took over 4 years for them to make the final copy with all DLC, and I won't buy it. So if I have to wait years for them to make the final copy of a game like Cuphead then there is no reason to rush out and buy a new console. Indie games are good about releasing a polished final copy on release, but all triple A games are trash on release and require updates. I also hate having to pay Playstation network to play online, and their 3rd party network lag slows down your gaming. Also consoles suck because we need a TV to downlpad games. With PC gaming you can download games for free at a public library with a laptop and move the games to a PC at home, and never own internet. With a console you have to pay for internet and download from home. So poor people should be PC gaming to download at a library. Rich people can afford 100Gb monthly internet plan.

Sold my PS5 two weeks ago. I just got fed up that every time I turned it on, it had to have system updates for the console, for software or the controllers, I'd do them and end up switching it off again. All I wanted to do was play. sometimes, I just had a free hour. I struggled to get one at the start due to short supplies of stock and the scalpers, making it difficult. The games just are not fun anymore for casual gamers. So someone made me an offer, and I sold it. I don't see me buying a PS6 if it comes along, and I've had every playstation console and an Xbox360, along with a couple of Nintendo consoles in the past. I have also looked at the ally x and legion go handhelds recently but I'm not sure as I don't like messing around with system settings and software just to get a game to play, also they seem to update them every year so you quickly have the old version, so it appears I'm being pushed out of gaming something that's been part of my life since my dad brought home an Atari system in the late 70s. Oh well, maybe I am getting too old for gaming, and it happens to all of us at some point in our lives. but unless something more user friendly comes along I won't return to gaming, i will miss it.

Battlefield 2042 is also only 60fps on ps5... I have a ps5 and I'd rather get a pc for many reasons. There's no additional charge to play online multiplayer games on pc. On ps5 you need ps plus for online multiplayer, only certain free to play games don't require a subscription. Ps plus is $107 a year after taxes now in canada. 120hz is pretty cool but I'd like to experience 165 or at least 144. Ps5 is limited to the game developer settings like you said. And another thing is that ps5 only recently released vrr and its not even compatible with a lot of monitors.

Next gen consoles suck because of the games that are out aren't worth buying or playing.

new consoles are all the same ps4 and ps5 is the same might as well call it the ps4 pro pro WHY DO THEY CARE ABOUT fps now LOOK IT HAS 5 MORE FPS no one cares about that if they did they would get a pc remember back then when consoles were NOT THE SAME and good yes it gets more fps BUT anything else it does better at i think xbox 360 is better then all xbox consoles I KNOW i know also they say it gets 120 fps even tho thats only for some games in my opinion i dont care i just want a good fun with good games and new things not the same thing but has 5 more fps if u care about the fps GET A PC but thats my opinion

Owned a ps4 and xbox one x. My xbox is now a glorified streaming box, and there are now only two Playstation games I want that aren't already on PC: Bloodborne and Demon's souls. And I'm not dropping $500 just so I can buy two games.

All I can say is I personally do not want to go back to gaming on my PS-4 and XB-1 after gaming on my PS-5 and Series X . But if you want to go back go right ahead.

My opinions are new consoles is, you have a great internet connection to unlock its own system, mostly area’s don’t have strongly impact for systems environments around some locations where you live at. It’s actually messed up in level right now.

Bloodborne spider-man and the last guardian were the best exclusive games ever for the Playstation 4 and the last guardian was a experience unlike any other game I've played in a very long while 😁

That take about water cooling was really bad. Water cooling is expensive and has multiple point of failure. It is not a good idead to our them on a product like this. Even if you did the only real advantage you will get is a sligtly quiter console. Which can easily be achieved with other means. Sony actually tried something of the sorts with liquid metal on their cpus. Had problems at the first few batches but now the issue is fixed. Even that was a gamble let alone a aio. Other then that ı agree with the statements you give however aio's are not be all and end all of cooling even for pcs yes they look cool and operate a bit more silent however there are many great Air coolers put there some which will wipe the floor with most of the aios for half the price.

It’s impressive depending on what games you get, im disappointed most games look similar to ps4 level graphics . Its way faster, looks futuristic, it just doesn’t feel true next gen. Maybe eventually they’ll release games that are jaw dropping

The majority of the PS5's life cycle was under the scalpers shelf and im not into exclusives because i want the games to be available on all platform that way it can sell i wanted to buy PS5 but eventually shifted my idea to build a PC instead so end result is that im much more happy with my decision

@@CarolinaSportz let me clarify, i wasn't even all that huge of a fan of the 8th gen, all the problems of the 7th gen just got worse as far as i'm concerned, whether it be DLC, every game needing multiple patches now, microtransactions or sony's refusal to do anything other than narrative driven cinematic games that might as well be movies. i'm really not a huge fan of how the internet in the past couple of years has gone from something that everyone used whenever they felt like or needed to, now, to basically being a required fixture for modern entertainment, i know that's a bit off topic but it does play a part into why i'm done moving forward with gaming and actually don't have a subscription to any service, i use a late model plasma tv that i only use for my game consoles and blu ray player and the only reason i don't upgrade to something more modern is because my PS2 is hooked into the component outputs. i know i may sound like an old man, i'm 32, but modern entertainment as a whole sucks

I agree with some of the things you said, in my opinion the PC has destroyed many beautiful things about consoles such as games that were only consoles however I wouldn't want to spend 1000 euros for a PC (which is even more difficult to assemble) and also it doesn't have used games ( on steam they sell you a call of duty from 10 years ago at full price) for now I prefer to buy a ps5 since there are some exclusives that I would like to play I'm Italian there might be some errors

Nah, my console don’t suck. It’s the most powerful one in the world so yea… it doesn’t suck.

Had both a ps5 and switch which I no longer own now my only console is a Xbox series s which I got really cheap. First thing I did was use a free month trial of gamepass which got me into games I otherwise wouldn’t have played. Since then I’ve continued to use and enjoy this system more than I expected. It’s next gen so I can play all the new releases when they drop and it’s backward compatible right back to the original Xbox so it’s got plenty to choose from. I also find the future releases seem stronger now than they have been in a long time. With gta 6 Indiana jones avowed plus many more all round the corner.

that’s great. personally i think that the series s is the best bang-for-your-buck you can get in all of gaming hardware.

I was fine with the 8th generation console. 9th Gen consoles and games are too expensive and I'm not paying a subscription to get more out of a console or anything else gaming related.

if you think the ps5 has a lack of exclusives compared to the ps4, than imagine the lack of exclusives the ps4 has compared to the ps3. and the ps3 to ps2.

The PS2 was the pinnacle of all the PlayStations so far. Over 4,000 games and so many of them were iconic! The most creative and innovative games on one console.

You Explained this gaming generation perfectly. Taken away "only on playstation" and "Xbox only" Killed any form of competition. As much as mainstream gamers want everything on everything in contrast it takes away a need of company rivalry and in turn kills developers need of creativity, innovation and risk. Yes Gow2 and horizon 2 is good but both by any means were ground breaking or made u think the new generation was a major step over PS4. The fact that both ps5 and Xbox developers still can't make a game at HDR/ray trace/60 FPS all at the same time is kind of pathetic. They both sent out demos at launch showing and bragging of the power yet neither of them have made a game that's even met the standard of the show case demo. That plus DEI infecting every western game dev has even destroyed story writing It's now 2024 and still Sony haven't made a damm thing worth buy a ps5 and Xbox died in 2022

Honestly, I feel like that these consoles are only to prepare us for next GEN because when we do get truly next GEN games, these will be the new old consoles and they will still be able to support next GEN performance for those who cannot afford it right away. Basically we won’t see the maximum performance of these consoles until the next consoles come. That way game developers can be more comfortable when making powerful games assuring that people who are current GEN and next GEN can play the same game with similar performances because the Xbox 360 will not play Xbox one level games.

Well I kinda see where you’re coming from. There are exclusives for these systems, but not that much compared to its predecessors. I personally own an HP Omen 25L pc and I’ve been having a ball playing games on steam, though I’ve been having trouble with streaming my pc on a separate device. There’s the option of xbox game pass and playstation plus if anyone doesn’t really want to get the consoles, though those services aren’t perfect considering the amount games that come and go and the need for telescopic controllers like the backbone if you don’t have that and an old phone lying around. The only reason I would get either of these would be to A. Play the exclusives they do have and maybe others if they’re on sale And B. Have the simplicity of streaming games on the consoles when I’m not at home Either way, I would definitely recommend investing in a good computer before thinking about getting one of these

yeah I initially got a series x and decided to finally make a PC, best decision I've made in a while, a million times quicker and easier for creating content.

I always have a 2 year console rule: NEVER buy a next Gen console until its been out for 2 years. Because of the Pandemic, I added another 2 years to that rule.

and funniest thing is . They were adverticed as 4k/60fps gaming consoles. Now as the next gen games are out the consoles are already far away from 4k 60. The most new games run only 30fps and the actual render resolution is way lower then 4k . Take the new Star Wars Jedi Suvivior . It targets 30 Fps , but is not able to hold it and in game rendering resolution is sometimes only 720 p upscaled to 4k :D its hilarious. Thats why i built myself a gaming pc for 1200 Euro which is truly able to run those games native 4k /60 fps. When you add the additonal cost of consoles like playstations plus or game pass over a console generation, my pc isnt that much more expensive than a "next gen" console

yeahh the real selling point is the 120 fps 1080p gaming for a low price, but most console gamers aren’t on a 120+ hz monitor (let alone a 4k one) so they won’t even notice the difference.

People need to stop expecting NEW GEN to be held back so that OLD GEN can play. If you are into gaming, then save your money, simple as that. If you can't afford to upgrade, fair enough, but find a new source of entertainment that you can afford. Expecting new Gen games to be released and still playable on Xbox One/ PS4 is ludicrous. The time of these consoles is past. So either upgrade, or stick to games made for your console. Perhaps once this trend of trying to please multiple generations of consoles ends, we will finally get games that push the limits of our CURRENT Gen consoles.

That's outside the players' control. Cross-gen titles are holding the generation back, yes, but also the lack of good enough releases to justify the upgrade. Not only that, but scalpers held the entire generation for ransom during its inception, preventing it from starting well. And we can't forget the impact of the pandemic on economics as a whole, with many people who would normally gladly purchase the new console choosing to save their money. It's a combination of bad timing, poor planning and weak support that has diminished this generation's success.

These high end graphical cinematic games are trash, plus their budgets are unsustainable, good gameplay and art style should always be the two main priorities

I love Xbox, I really do. But seriously, Microsoft has screwed up their consoles big time. The Xbox One was the last good xbox due to the releases it had. There is basically not a big difference in fps in games like fortnite or call of duty.

Not only that, sony has yet to justify the ps+ price increase while still offering the same stuff as before.

If you don't already have a PS5 stick with your 4. I wish I had. I don't want a gaming PC, I'd like the Playstation 5 to bring the joy that PS4 did.

My point is that platforms MUST have exclusive games. Otherwise there is no need to have multiple platforms at all.

I was so close to buying a PS5 last year, but I bought a Steam Deck instead once I saw that it could emulate PS2 games and other older consoles. I even sold my Switch to get one and it was the best move I ever made. Now, not only can I still play Switch games, but almost all the older gen consoles and pc games. I got the best of both worlds in the palm of my hands. Thank god I didn't get the PS5. Love my Steam Deck! Lol

I bought a PS4 pro recently and i dont think I'm getting a ps5 any time soon considering it only has like 20 games on it that the ps4 cant play. And even if there is some game on there i wanna play, ill just wait til the ps5 is cheaper in a few years and play it then

This generation has turned me into a snob and a cynic. I actively look down at people who enjoy these consoles and get excited for upcoming games that are guaranteed not to live up to expectations. I hate to be negative, but I'm also resentful at the people who propagate the decline and fall of the gaming industry.

I noticed there's 2 different types of games they are making now. Next gen only games or games that come out on everything, even mobile. The ones that come out on everything are will kind of be nice on next gen because you will get the best experience on it. Playing games on my phone kind of suck. So if those games come to next gen I'd welcome it.

I haven't upgraded. 4/One X do the job. Only care for 3rd parties as 1st parties 2017+ haven't been for me. Even some eh PS3/360/Wii period games. I don't like 8th gen. 7th was prep 8/9th are the same of ok games but a lot I have no interest in at all. But I do my research on all platforms games, niche games/gems, hardware /software features and I think the software for the OS is cool, the navigation sucks/folders aka groups but the software gimmicks are really cool. But Impulse triggers of Xbox One was and still is great (not common same with touchpad gestures on PS4 either but still. I care about those features even if bad, some are good, some more exciting then some themes/stories in most games Hardly a not broke don't fix it for non Xbox One owners or those that didn't notice the Forza brake guide or Gears reload minigame, I did and it's great aka a feature in Forza Motorsport 5 in 2013 before HD Rumble and Haptics, it's not the same tech/idea but still existed becyI go and test things in some games that have them it's how I understand motion for Wii and PSVR/HTC Vive. I'm more clever than those I to VR around me because I apply the logic even if different balance of motion and buttons to VR. Same with the SNAP feature the 2013 Windows 8 style OS because I look at their hardware/software marketing points and further details or history). I just like tech. It not in the usual tech enthusiast way. I watched and most of them are on different interests of the hardware or software then I am. Which is fine. Quick resume is awesome, I don't have digital games and think it's amazing. It's what I want more than social features I don't use. Like dual screens I see use cases for them. Making it happen that's different but theorising and understanding the tech yes even if not an engineer but programming just enough the limits. SmartGlass died yet like Vita or Wii U it was a phone equivalent. Anyone remember Playlink for PS4 party games. Nope. No one talks anthem or cares clearly. It's like PSP or did things sure but I mean PDAs, the two handhelds that released either and flopped. Nope. Ok those handhelds had those features already. Differences sure like built in camera and GPS not add-ons but yeah games and PSP mattered .ore and are what peoywete familiar with and that's totally fine. It popular means it's own things. Like Odyssey/Channel F and 2600. Either way to me I haven't upgraded because the gameplay of the games isn't for me. 2017 both didn't appeal to me. Yes I didn't care for their big IPs I did their smaller ones and those studios they killed off, or their big like Ratchet/GT went directions I wasn't happy with. Sony pulled a third parties and the IPs I didn't like or even did they changed their direction and I moved on or those IPS got left behind. Any of the PS3/360/Wii ones I seek or liked those were left behind, the ones everyone else liked, got pushed forward. That's fun. Sigh. Xbox I just wasn't into some of them. I have bought a few on Xbox One since sure, sure I keep the Xbox One for back compat, apps on the store and other things but I barely use it. I have more then I did when it was relevant. XD Still barely use the Xbox One and do my 360 because of the non back compat titles left behind.that I pick up. But even if I can ignore formulaic animations, eh ray tracing so powerful and not more exciting of reflections or lighting to me then past reflections WITHOUT it and less powerful hard to make it more realistic or controllable or other simple things like gameplay first not safe gameplay. Particular Indies or other third parties for me and the handful of Switch I don't mind. I hated Pikmin 4, I won't praise all Nintendo games I understand the history of social features or games as the reason people buy the devices or Pocket PCs/Nomad/PSP leading up to Switch, cables I can cast my phone to the TV, I can HDMI cable my 2 in 1 2015 tablet. Pocket PCs are weird cool devices. None of it is new. There is a reason I cared for the Wii U more hardware wise even if the best execution. If IR on Switch wasn't terrible I'd care more. Never used HD Rumble at all. Just the dock and tabletop/handheld. Barely the touchscreen other then the OS. So yeah Switch is fair but I haven't used it's features really. The games are gameplay first but some work, some don't. I don't care for Mario/Pokemon but do older Zelda and their niche IPs. No interest in visuals and fuller gameplay ever since PS3/360. Adult games had their cores straightforward and more theme push that's fine but I got less interested and still enjoy kids games pushing different concepts more then just writing and visuals and more dull gameplay. I play a mix of genres not the same ones. Been playing shooters/racing/tycoons or city builders and platformers for years then broadened to RPGs, hack n slashes, visual novels, arcade racers, tactics and more over time so to me the more action adventure and RPGs pushed or shooters the types of settings and safeness or trend game design I stopped buying them.

Speak for yourself, I was more impressed with the ps5 in 2023 than I ever was with the xbox one x in 2019 or the ps4 pro I bought in 2018. I was blown away by every game I’ve played so far on my ps5 which I only bought 2 months ago. I’ve sampled watch dogs legion and even that game looked amazing on my set up and was fun to play, I also sampled Life is strange true colours, NBA 2K 23, Astro playroom, Control ultimate edition and more recently, my latest purchase, Returnal. Each game I bought was £20 and under. Great value for money, as for my ps5 I got it upfront without spending anything and don’t have a pay a single penny until October 2024, without interest. “save up for a PC” he says 😂😂😂 The average person would miss out on an entire gaming generation saving up for a PC powerful enough to get the most out of the latest games and even then they might have to wait many months after console release before those games are even on PC. Can you be so sure GTA6 will be released on PC day one? I can be sure it will be released on ps5 and ps5 pro🤷 Also isn’t doesn’t have to be one or the other, you can have both. You can still play your older consoles. You don’t have to trade them in to play the new ones. I still own and use my ps3,Xbox 360 s(which I use when gaming on my 24 inch PlayStation simulview 3D monitor) and still use my ps4 pro and to a less extent my Xbox one x.

They're using modern technology to push more boring open world games and played out cinematic adventure games. Some variety would be nice. Till then old games it is.

The PS5s design is the only bit that I’d disagree with. Beautiful and unique design. That and the new controller is the only thing worth buying it for tbh, that and now Ark Survival Ascended… and even then…

I disagree, although there is a lack of exclusive games. It's been 3 years and the previous gen is still kinda holding up but eventually it just won't be strong enough. Getting a ps5 or a Xbox series S/X is like getting a ticket to the next gen gaming. I have a series s and I love it, gaming in the previous gen is the worst decision to make right now.

@gamb ah that explains your disdain (I am mad the xbox series x fridge is a cooler that can't keep milk cold nor frozen food, but I at least got it on sale for $70). Your comments are a lot better than the video. The series s went on sale for $250 so it is better as a lite system than paying double for the X and having no exclusives/imports (or paying the switch tax for "new" games and imports and risking performance issues/bad loading). Whatever you need a disc for, you're better off just getting a ps5. But no way we could predict the future, that xbox is a game pass/digitally backwards compatible machine.

30-60 fps, hardly any exclusives, paywall just to play online, paywall just to have cloud back ups of save games, restrictive peripheral support (only a few games support m+kbd). PC - 144 or higher fps, a gargantuan library of games, free online, free cloud back up of save games, use any peripherals you want, console "exclusives" coming to pc anyways It's a no brainer, just spend a few hundred more dollars and get a pc you don't have to upgrade in another 3 years. It ends up being cheaper since you can play online for free

forgetting a big difference, getting next gen console performance without having extensive pc knowledge (getting it prebuilt, nvidia gpu etc.) isn’t just a few hundred bucks, it can cost over 1k more. that being said, in the long run it’s definitely worth it compared to consoles with their insane subscription prices. agree with everything else

@@gamb pc's aren't that hard to build though. A few youtube videos + read the motherboard manual to see where everything plugs in and you are pretty much good to go for pc building. The difficulty in pc building is actually more buying the right parts imo, making sure they are all compatible with each other. But PC Part Picker is good for that

Clearly a PC gamer made this video. Let me just point out the amount of PC games and ports that have failed because of major bugs, glitches, crashes, performance issues etc. And the whole “lack of innovation” thing makes me laugh, because what has PC innovated in the last 20 years? Not much really. Still got a basic keyboard and mouse, but when you look at the PS5 the controller has haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and a few other things too. Ok, I’m waiting for the troll PC Master Race comments. Throw em at me! 😂

haven’t replied to any comments on this vid in a month or so but just thought your ‘pc hasn’t innovated in 20 years’ take was so unbelievably stupid that i might as well reply. this was never a pc vs console video, it just explains how next gen consoles are gonna be useless until we get next gen exclusive games, which has taken much longer than previous generations. i made this video literally 3 months after selling my xbox, which i used for 6+ years before writing this video. if you think there’s no innovations in PC because mnk is less intuitive than controller, you’d be pretty surprised to see the sim racing community or the sim aviation communities access to controllers that you guys can’t use on consoles. you’ll be even more surprised to realize that you can use a ps5 controller on pc for any game, but can’t use mnk on ps5 for any game. shocking isn’t it? next time you think about taking time out of your day to write a comment, please consider doing something more productive. tell a loved one that they’re cared for, educate yourself, go to work, literally anything else will provide you with more value than this. just trying to help.

My ps5 is amazing, definitely my favorite console ive ever owned, your opinion sucks, ive noticed the only ppl saying this are casuals who only play western AAA exclusives and shooters, as a RPG enthusiast the ps5 is the best console ever, having access to the entire library of ps5 and ps4 RPGs with the vast majority running at 60fps, which no other Playstation console can do

I would have to disagree with you. Because of the lockdown shortages etc, PC gaming has become ridiculously expensive. GPUs are being literally scalped by the developers. This is leading many frustrated PC gamers to return to or go to counsoles. Sony should thank Nvidia for their recent surge and console sales in Japan superseding the switch for more than two weeks in a row. Long story short those PC gamers are coming to cheaper more affordable options which will bring a lot more money to the corporations who produce the consoles. Leading hopefully to growth of game developers and more innovation on recent consoles. PSVR2 looks pretty promising.

Wasn’t quick resume a feature that separates itself from the Xbox One? Didn’t the PS5 have a feature that helps you get trophies? I’m just saying, you need to do your research. I am not a fan of these consoles ether but stop trying to push a false narrative.

you’re right, quick resume does set it apart, but it’s useless if the game is online-only (as most games are nowadays), since you’ll timeout from the server and have to refresh anyways. if you’re playing an old game it’s useful… but those games take less than 5 seconds to load on modern hardware anyways, not much of a difference imo. all the new ‘features’ are mostly gimmicks, not really worth the expensive price tag. the hardware is definitely worth the price tag, but you rarely get to use it to its full potential because support relies on devs who have no incentive to add it.

Starfields coming out soon amd it wont be 60fps next gen gotta say thats pretty bullshit.

Because PlayStation just didn’t do good job design ps5 get ps4 remote which been improved and put in different color did away with ps4 pro Dolby Vision support for streaming. 2nd ps5 has no 8k ability which killed them. As for Xbox be nice have sturdy controller with recharging ability built in. 2nd issue with Xbox game pass and game pass ultimate price. 3rd noisy disc drive and for Dolby support with co-op headphones need pay Dolby industries a fee and needing 3rd party app for high quality Dolby audio and video when streaming like Xbox one x does.

Pc is the best consoles are meh good for casual gaming if you don’t mind paying for online monthly or yearly and if you don’t mind being at the mercy of a developer to optimize respectable settings for your games…

pretty oversimplified but you are correct. if you know a lot about consumer tech then getting and using a pc is pretty easy, but if you’re some blue collar worker that works 80+ hour weeks i can see why console is much much better than pc

Xbox do have an excuse they buying up some big name companies to get proper exclusives soon ps5 should have already been having a ton of exclusive to play by now and eventhough we playing old games on new systems the xbox gamepass is the deciding factor between the two

I built my 4090 rig and haven't used it but once. I can't bring myself to use up my data cap on stupid games. And my stuff including my ps5 are on my G3 77 oled so the console and rig look small even compared to my subwoofer. I spent 14 grand on electronic entertainment because I was bored. As soon as new better comes out I get rid of the old.
