She is simply brilliant! I'm CEO of a technology company and anyone watching please hang onto every word. It's reinforcing what I've learned over the last 16 years growing a business, expanding on my knowledge and giving me more clarity on what to focus on. This advice truly is priceless so don't let it being on KZread for free make you take it for granted. This is worth more than any MBA you could get at at the top universities.

Along the lines of "writing it all down" One of the all-time most `important and life-changing box I have ever read is getting things done by David Allen. The crux of it is that your brain is not a filing cabinet. It is not a post it note. It is not a remembering tool - it is a tool for focusing, thinking and problem-solving. To that end; do not try to remember ANYTHING. instead; write everything down and put it into a trusted, organized system where you will be reminded of it when appropriate and will be able to EASILY find it when necessary. Leila, You are right that we should also train our employees to do the same thing!!! For me personally; I absolutely write every single thing down otherwise it gets lost in the shuffle.

I stumbled upon your channel, and there is some solid information here. I used to do community work, and you can't expect everyone to do what you want them to do without teaching them or putting them in the wrong role. Too many business owners expect their employees to work as hard as them. I learned the hard way that you can't just expect people to be productive without incentive.

I listen fairly often to Saan and Sam's "My First Million" podcast mostly to hear their weekly guests explain their particular business success. I often hear new ways of thinking about things that I find helpful as I re-structure my current business. Yesterday, I heard Alex for the first time and really felt like everything he was discussing in the interview was directly applicable to the processes that my wife and I are going thru myself. I'm very excited to be learning from you both! Working on developing a proper offer now. Everything we've done so far over the past 15 years has been through referrals and I'm ready now to start to pursue some internet exposure for our water and nutrition products! Thanks Leila - tell Alex I said thanks also please. -Kirk-

you have the experience, knowledge, insight and your a good communicator. Only in my view their are a lot of similar youtube contributors that do this but when the show us the actual businesses and numbers you are dealing with or have actual friends or other business folks analyze their numbers... that's what is more valuable. Your first video was awesome and gave me a lot to think about for my real estate business!

This is true only if you are heavily dependent on phone/in-person sales to grow. Most software and product businesses rely on ads to grow and their biggest obstacle to scaling is not people. It’s getting enough return on adspend to keep spending more. Specifically the underwear example you gave scaled because of viral marketing which resulted in cheap conversions. Not because of training people. Nonetheless, this is still great advice for properly communicating with people and training new hires.

Fire. As Always. Thanks for sharing. So, with the say, write etc. Are you writing down all your action notes then asking the team to see theres? are you having an assistant take notes and you’re reviewing before approving and sharing with team? Any elaboration there especially if they are not hearing “all” the things you feel you’re saying as the leader?

Have 1 person note take during the meeting. I have my assistant do this and show me before sending but for those without an assistant (like my leadership team) i have them rotate attendees so everyone gains the skill…. it also helps the person taking notes gain understanding
