Nice video. I ordered a Vevor 450 today and thats exactly what i wanted to do when using it next week. I dont know why nobody talks about that. A lot of guides recommend to always release the pressure by switching the valve when not in use for a few minutes. Nice video. This should be mentioned in every video and also in the user manual. 👍

I'm having this problem with my GXFF. I am guilty of topping up my machine with the pressure still high Unfortunately being such a new machine it'll take a while to get a replacement and cost a lot I reckon Thank you for your help

you might be best just bypassing the manifold all together, that way your spray hose connects to the rear of your pump. however your gun will always be in spray mode, so you'll need to prime through the gun. they are available new but i havent seen any used ones

Your pump wouldnt change, but your spray hose would connect directly to your pump where the manifold hose normally connects, so you are bypassing the manifold and the drain valve

hi. i have a graco x7. it is not priming. the unit was completely disassembled and cleaned. the piston rod is clean and has been oiled with assembly lube. the X7 turns on and runs smooth, but will not prime. i tested with water, connecting suction hose to spigot. i was wondering if you think its the pump, or maybe the piston seal(s) if any, are worn? any help appreciated.

it's very hard to tell without looking, however if you go to westspray .com.au, you'll see a troubleshooting page, id suggest you look at that and go from there. I wish you the best with it.

Hi Ali I have a titan 640 and it primes fine. When I switch to spray it builds up pressure fine but when I start spraying, pressure drops , What that it could be? Thank you

if pressure drops but builds up again quickly, its a worn tip, if it's slow to build back up, then its the outlet valve, the outlet valve is located inside the piston, usually a little bit of rubbish causes it, however it can also be damaged or worn.

Hey man I've got a 795 graco and the max pressure goes up only to 2300psi where it supposed to be 3300 any idea what could be the issue either than that spray fine

You have pump wear, get your pump looked at a service centre.

I have a spray tec epx 2455 my problem is that it builds pressure but once spraying it has like a 3 to 4 second delay to build pressure again

It sounds like the pressure transducer is stuck or wedged and taking time to move up and down. It'll need to be removed and cleaned. Also parts for that may be obsolete, so pay particular care when removing and cleaning parts.

remove the gun off the other end, and pump thinners through the machine, keep recirculating it for as long as necessary, just ensure your pick up filter is clean, and that the gun end of your hose has something to catch the thinners so that they're not mixing back into pick up, eg maybe use a paint strainer or stocking to catch the built up skins etc

What if it's not leaking out the prime hose but pressure still not building up at all

Maxkil if it just keeps on pumping it could be a stuck inlet or outlet valve, or pump wear. Pump wear is very slow to build up and can't maintain spray pressure, stuck valves can build zero to very little pressure, with stuck valves you can usually hear a hissing sound during the strokes of the piston.

mmm interesting, sounds about right.. I left the thing at the jobsite this afternoon and the hose has paint in it. It was working but when i tried to clean it out with water just never built up pressure, never kicked in and filled the line. Wish you were in Brisbane! I did let it run dry. Thanks for the info!

Mine was like that, primed good but was not building pressure and I found a broken ball cage inside the piston. The ball was never seating to build pressure.

look for piston and packing wear, while you have everything stripped, check to see balls and seats are clean and not scored or pitted. Take care

Thanks! I have since clean the machine and installed a new piston repair kit. It now primes and builds pressure but once I press the gun trigger, it looses pressure and the machine stays on continuous without building stray pressure. The gun filter is new. Any other repair guidance will be appreciated.

@@fl9267 does that happen with or without a spray tip, without a spray tip is normal, but with a spray tip there would be another problem. eg check to see if the pump eventually stops running when your'e not pulling the trigger, if it doesn't, check your return hose to see if its releasing material, if it is, then you need to replace or repair the drain valve.

Start from your tip and work back. A worn tip, blocked gun filter or a worn pump can be the causes.

@@westsprayairless8763 if it's not holding pressure and, why would it have anything to do with the gun? It's happening inside the pump somewhere so looking at the wrong end wouldn't help.

@@Tbone.357 maintaining pressure is different to building pressure, if the pump is building the pressure but the spray pressure is not consistent, then its a flow restriction in the gun, if its not building pressure at the pump then we look to the pump itself. Hope thats clear, sometimes too much explanation is more confusing.

You need to check your inlet and outlet valves, they may be worn or have something in there stopping them from working properly

mate it could be anything, you'd have to start with checking your diaphragm movement with the inlet valve removed, then you can check both your inlet and outlet valves, but thats a very general answer to your question.

I have bought a second Hand Wagner pro 250 it’s not been used much by the look of it but when I try using it it only spit when I press the trigger after prime it seems to prime the machine fine but spray won’t come out just few spits every time I press trigger can anyone help what could be the issue

if its not a worn pump, then you will have a blocked outlet valve, this is connected to the spray hose on the machine, the outlet valve can not be stripped to clean it needs to be replaced on this model.

the st range came out in the late 90's, in terms of value, only you can determine that, ie if it saves you time and money and doesn't hurt your financials, then it's a good buy.

Benji Frizzell it sounds like a worn motor. When it's under load it shuts down, also possibly a thermal issue meaning it's not able to dissipate heat.

Unfortunately I would imagine so. However ask your local service agent to price a motor for you, it might still be feasible to replace the motor.

Hi.. My titan 540 is not building up enough pressure.. I have recently done the whole repacking for the piston.. could it be that the prime valve is worn out and needs a replacement caz I hear some air leaking inside the prime valve.. please if you could kindly suggest a solution to that.. thank you

remove and strip the prime valve, if its a blockage it'll be easy to see and clean, if its worn (check for a groove on the ball end of the needle) then replace it. Good luck

Thank u so much for the reply. I replaced the prime valve and it was working good for an hour and after it just started leaking paint near the piston rod through the front cover. Please if you have a suggestion to that.. thank u
